  1. I have to say that losing weight has been the most challenging part of wedding planning for me. Keep it up! You can do it Where are you getting married at? Every time I start stressing out about the details, my finace tells me to relax and trust my coordinator. Because she does this every day! Don't worry It will all be OK. Actually better than OK, it will be GREAT! And at the end you will be married to the love of your life. Happy Friday. The best of all is that I know that when I'm here I don't feel lonely, I'm still new here Can't wait for my big day! Good luck with all your planning May brides!
  2. 4 months from today! Yoohoo!
  3. I love the black dress idea. I am letting my girls choose their own dress and they seem to be pretty happy with that. So you paid for the first dress, right? I would just consider not asking your bride's maids to buy two dresses. I think they wouldn't mind buying a black dress that they could use later. By the way, this story makes me not to ever buy anything from Forever 21 again!
  4. Hello, welcome to the forum. We are wedding date twins!!!
  5. For favors and wedding party gifts + activities at the resorts. I am all for tanning too.
  6. No worrying allowed for the May 2011 brides. Deep breath ladies ... It will work itself out. Just stay focused and take one step at a time I had a freak-out moment yesterday when our room block got filled (went over by 3 rooms) and I haven't even sent my invitations out yet! And our wedding is getting way bigger than what we had planned. BUT, I had to remind myself that many brides have been where I am right now and they all went on and had a fabulous wedding after all. Smile It's Friday ... And we will have our big day in less than 5 months and it will be amazing. Cheers,
  7. I sent them an email through their website. Thank you very much Hannah.
  8. Hannah, Can you please share the company that you are using? This seems like a great deal and I am wondering if they have the same service in Cabo. Thank you.
  9. You are brave ... How do you know that they would be a good fit? Have you even purchased from them before? What did you get? Can you post a link?
  10. We went to get a linen suit for my fiance and shirts for the groomsmen. It turns out that the store will get them in March. I have to wait till then ... What are your men wearing on the big day?
  11. I really like this idea! I am all for something that people can use later Thanks for sharing. I looked on costco.com and didn't see one. A photo is very much appreciated.
  12. The last day of the last year of our single lives !!!! Happy new year ladies
  13. We have decided not to do OOT bags either. Instead of a lot of small gifts, we are thinking about getting one nice beach-themed 5x7 picture frame for each couple. We will leave it in their rooms when they arrive with the itinerary for the weekend. And we will leave a note that they can put their favorite picture of the trip in the frame and have a memory of our wedding forever. I will see if we will have enough money to engrave the frames with the location and date as well. Cheers, Azadeh
  14. Once the holidays are over I am starting to work on the guys' outfits. Get my fiance a linen suit and the groomsmen shirts. Also have to buy our rings. "The Knot" website has a pretty good month-by-month checklist. It has been helping me making sure that I have done everything that I am supposed to by this time Azadeh
  15. Thank you ladies for sharing. I agree, it is a very personal choice and either way what matters is that we will be married in less than 5 months and have a blast at our destination weddings Cheers.
  16. Hi Hannah, Welcome to the forum. You will find many useful tips on this site. Do you have a travel agent? It really helps to hire one. You can give your guests their contact information and leave all the travel info with the TA. It will save you a lot of work and headache. Enjoy planning. Azadeh
  17. My poor in-laws are travelling from Jacksonville, FL to Los Cabos. Their tickets were $700 per person!!!! We paid $400 from San Jose, CA. Azadeh
  18. My resort recommended using this website for translating the marriage certificate: http://www.UltraTranslate.com I asked for a quote and this is what I got: "We at Ultra Translate would be pleased to translate your document from Spanish to English (marriage certificate from Mexico. We provide certified and notarized translations with quality paper and inks, all according to INS/State Department guidelines. The translation comes with a 100% guarantee policy of US government acceptance, if that is who they are intended for. We are certified by the U.S. government and internationally recognized American Translators Society (A.T.S.) as fully qualified and accredited to translate your documents. Our prices are as follows for delivery within the US (international delivery charges will be different): Normal service (1-5 business days delivered by Priority Mail): $49-64 per page (dependent upon length) Express Service (1-2 business days delivered by Express Mail): $19 per page extra rush charge Additional notarized copies of same document: $9/page" So far here are the expenses that I am expecting: $220 for blood test $80 for translation And for documents we will need birth certificates and passports. We have to be in Mexico 4 business days in advance (which we were planning to do anyway) and need 4 witnesses who only have to be there during the ceremony with a valid passport. The officiant is covered under my wedding package. I hope this helps. Azadeh
  19. Question: Are you getting legally married in the US or at your destination?
  20. It is painful for me to read that it is so much more difficult to get legally married in Cabo. However, my heart is set at getting married on the beach with all my friends and family present. We are getting married in Dreams Los Cabos and they have a pretty good information sheet with th requirements and my wedding coordinator is very helpful. However, I still haven't figured out how the "translation" process works. Can someone break it down for me? What do we need to do after we get married for our marriage to be recognized in California?] Thank you for your help. Azadeh
  21. Ladies, Have you thought about the fact that this will be our LAST Christmas as single ladies ??? Merry Xmas to all the beautiful May 2011 brides
  22. I don't think it will look stupid at all. If you like your heels, you would want them to show I have the same dilemma, and I have decided to alter my dress for the flip flops because I will wear them for the longest period of time (reception and dancing ), so it will be a little long for the ceremony (we are barefoot as well, yay!) and my awesome purple heels will show slightly for the photos! Azadeh
  23. Just wanted to share this with you ladies. Blue Nile is an excellent website for getting your ring. They have excellent prices, excellent material and no state sales tax! All the jewelry comes with certification and free shipping. I appraised and insured my engagement ring for 20% more of what my fiance had paid. http://www.bluenile.com/ This is the wedding band that I am going to buy: Cheers, Azadeh
