Thanks!! My future mother-in-law got the placemats for us at vivaterra.com. It's a really cool website. They sell "eco-friendly" stuff.

These are my reception shoes. I got them on sale for $25 + shipping at David's Bridal. They match my bridesmaids dresses perfectly in the watermelon color. They come in ivory, black and watermelon.

For those of you who have already gotten legally married at Dreams Palm Beach by the judge, did you write your own ceremony script? Do they have a "generic" one that they use at the resort? I have started on mine, but I wasn't sure what they usually do there. Anyone have any idea??

Where did you hear that Dreams is no longer allowing outside photographers? I haven't heard anything of it. I just emailed Melani about it a few months ago and she said it was fine.

I emailed Melani about it a while back and she said that it was fine that we were bringing our own photographer. She didn't say anything about requirements. I'd say as long as they don't advertise that they are paid photographers, there shouldn't be a problem.

jbmarch2012, Melani confirmed by email that all drinks are included in the package.

jbmarch2012, I didn't see that stuff in my paperwork either, so I emailed Melani about it tonight. I will let you know what she says. I still think that the drinks should be covered in the package, then you pay extra for 20+ people.

I am pretty sure that the cocktail hour and dinner have open bar. I think you just have to pay extra per person over 20 people.

I meant both. It was a lot more expensive for the guests and us from what their wedding coordinator and our travel agent, and our own research, was able to tell us.

jb, I also was stuck between the Paradisus and Dreams resorts and ultimately chose Dreams Palm Beach. Paradisus was a little more expensive and didn't seem to have as many options as Dreams. Dreams Palm Beach is also about 20 minutes from the airport vs. 1 hour or so for Paradisus. I'm very happy with our choice.

Thanks! I was worried when I read that too...and it was after I had already sent my $100 deposit. But, Melani assured me that my original deposit was enough. Thank goodness! Congrats to you too!! When is your big day?

Alliecat023, Was the pool reception fairly private or were there lots of onlookers? We're having 50-60 people at our wedding and we're stuck between having the pool reception and the beach reception. Thanks!

I am getting married December 2, 2011 at Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana. Has anyone who has gotten married there recently brought their own photographer from where they live? If so, did you have any problems with them getting to the resort and getting to take the photos? They are staying at the resort with us over the entire weekend, so I figure it would be fine for us just to say they are family friends and they aren't getting paid for their work. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Well, now it's official! I have sent off my deposit for our December 2, 2011 wedding at Dreams Palm Beach!! The judge is going to marry us at 2:30pm that day! I can't wait!

I heard back from Melani today, and evidently the Judge got back to her about my wedding date for next year, however, he added a 1 in front of the 2 and said he was available on December 12, 2011 instead of December 2, 2011. I'm going to go crazy waiting!!

If you don't mind me asking, are you doing the civil ceremony with the judge or a symbolic ceremony with Pastor York??
