  1. I'm not sure of the differences, except VW seems to have a lot more detail in the decoration...more flowers and such (and the arch of course). I think it may include a menu, but I'm not sure. VW is pretty, but I think I prefer the simplicity of the BB theme....it is just enough. And yes, $600 is a lot better than 2900 if you just want the arch! I know you can do white flowers with BB theme, you just have to let them know ahead of time. The bouquet I'm thinking of upgrading to is all white roses, and it is around $165. Also, I'm not sure how many people will be attending your reception, but it is only $100 to add a BB table for 8. The other themes' tables are more expensive. Do you have the price list for everything (PDF) saying what's included?
  2. I absolutely LOVE your dress! I'm going shopping in a few weeks and hope to find something similar.
  3. Have you ever read the book "The Eat Clean Diet" by Tosca Reno? It is built around increasing metabolism as you get older. The strategies really work, and a lot of figure competitors use this as a guide.
  4. Tenny, do they tell you what type of room you're upgraded to, or does that just happen when you get to the resort?
  5. Hi Carole, We're getting married at Sandals Grande St. Lucian, and we're doing the BB theme with just the white arch added ($600)...seems like a lot, but I want something to stand under. I honestly like the BB table/cake/flowers better that the Vision ones. I will also upgrade my bouquet to the white roses (Chic and Natural). Hope that helps!
  6. bahiabride, I'm wondering if you were able to travel with your matches? I am packing candles for my OOT bags, and I would like to provide matches. I am wondering how I'm going to get them to St. Lucia???
  7. Thanks for the info...curious to hear how they look when they arrive! I will order if yours work out well.
  8. Oh I did not know about the carnival...I will have to check that out! Where is it? And how gorgeous will a full moon be?! Thanks for sharing that...I had no idea. LilyRose, I'm in the US/Atlanta. I loved the pictures in the thread! Great ideas! There aren't that many reviews of St. Lucia resorts on here, but I did a search for _______ (resort) wedding on Tripadvisor and found several people who had been married at my location.
  9. Thanks for posting! Borrowing these ideas...
  10. This may be a silly question, but.....Rebecca who???
  11. Our Sandals has a speaker system we can rent for $100 (for IPod). I'm sure you can bring one with you, but your TA should be able to find out for you. Did you also know that if you get to twelve rooms, you will get one person free (equivalent in money back)? That may help with your funds for the dinner. Hope it works out!
  12. Anybody purchased cheap (but nice) pashminas lately? Are there any items you had trouble bringing through customs?
  13. I have struggled (still struggling with this issue. I think we've decided to do the boarding passes with no RSVP card. Instead, I will do a second boarding pass with "please RSVP with my TA by booking your room by..." obviously not that wordy, but something to that effect. I actually said "formal invitation to follow" on my STD's, so I feel like I have to send them out. I also want to encourage some people to book, as they may be waiting to the last minute.
  14. I am also happy to see some action in this forum! LilyRose, did you decide on an exact date? We are getting married on Friday the 15th. I have everything planned, as Sandals makes it so easy...now I just have to pay! That seems to be the hard part... What are you doing for your invitations? Have you found anything that goes with St. Lucia? I found some St. Lucia boarding passes that I may decide to go with. I don't want to spend a lot, when we have our website with all the info.
  15. You can do it! I am wanting to lose about the same for my wedding July 15. I started out the new year doing chicken, brown rice, and vegetables, but if I see another piece of chicken I'm going to puke. lol I got a new diet from my fitness friend...same principles, and I love it! You basically combine lean protein (chicken, fish, egg whites, fat free cheese, greek yogurt) with a complex carb (fruit, brown rice, vegetable, sweet potato, etc.). I eat small meals at least 5 times a day...200-300 calories each. Seems like a lot of food, but it's supposed to keep your metabolism going. I've already lost 5 pounds! On my way...
  16. Congrats Mrs. Williams! Pigeon Point will be beautiful! We are staying and getting married at the Grande next door. Have you booked Sandals yet? My travel agent is awesome...PM me if you want her info.
  17. Thanks Melody, our save the dates were from wedding paper divas...love them! We chose seaside elegance (starfish). I will look again at the orchids one to see if it will work. They are so affordable!
  18. What are you guys doing for inviations? I am stressing too much about this! We sent out simple starfish STDs and I can't decide between going with a simple starfish invitation suite or doing the boarding pass invite thing. I tried to create/print out some boarding passes and I don't think I have the right software. I want them to be nice, not look like I made them on my cheap printer, so either way I'm going to be paying for my invites. I need to decide very soon. Just curious if you guys already had yours picked out? Are there any that match the Sandals MS themes?
  19. Yay for another St. Lucia bride! We are few and far between on here... We are arriving on Wednesday and getting married on Friday, and yes, we paid the wedding expedite fee of $150. I may decide to travel on Tuesday, but I do not want too many days to stress before the wedding. I also don't want to worry about getting sunburned, fat from the food lol, etc. The Regency will be beautiful! My TA has some pictures of a couple of wedding there. PM me if you want her info!
  20. I'm going to just wear it on my left hand and switch the two after the ceremony. Thanks for sharing ideas!
  21. I'm with you girls...I have until July. I need to lose at least 30 pounds. I got an elliptical for Christmas, so I'm going to start using that EVERY day. I'm also going to do make myself eat chicken, brown rice, and broccoli for a while...5 small meals a day. I know that sounds drastic, but I can't let myself have options or I'll cheat...I know me! I have put off dress shopping because my first experience was so depressing, but I have an appointment the end of January...hoping to lose about 10 pounds by then and then go a little slower as my wedding gets closer. What's your plan, ladies???
  22. Thanks for sharing! We are going to order the acrylic tumblers with the straws...received one as a gift and I LOVE it. I think my guests will enjoy it too.
  23. Thanks everyone! I have decided on my boarding pass invites and will post as soon as I get them. I am doing two passes...one as the formal invitation and another with the booking info. Lisa, I will use your idea of saying "please RSVP by booking by..." Ella, you're right...I can absolutley do things a little differently since I'm doing the destination wedding. Now I just have to convince my mom that she is being old school. lol Yea! Glad to have the settled. Now on to the OOT bags. It never ends, does it?!
  24. You're not hijacking lol. I am thinking of doing the same thing, but just having them RSVP by calling or emailing my TA to book. I know it's proper etiquette to include the stamp, but in this day and age, and with a destination wedding, isn't it okay to do things a little differently?
