I booked in January so I am def going to fight this. Was their a max amount that you could use the credits? I am going to forward my email to the video ppl to my wedding coordinator. I need to get this handled b/c it's stressing me out.

Has anyone had any luck getting the vacation dollars for the video? I was told I could have used the dollars toward video but I never confirmed again with Belem when I reviewed my purchase order so now they are trying not to honor it. I am so pissed. It's partially my fault for not reconfirming but I think they should still honor it since I booked by in January. I am so annoyed bc the video quality isn't good, even cheesy but I know I'll want speeches, vows, etc on video. If anyone has any advice I need it b/c I am fighting for it with the new contact Lupita now.

Kalena told me the linens run from $25-35 which to me is kind of steep. I decided on just doing table runners which I ordered from this site for like $4/each. They are good quality too. They sell linens there as well so if I wore you, I would just buy them and bring them b/c renting is more expensive. I have 9 tables b/c if I had less I probably would save myself the hassle and just rent them but my wedding budget is out the window. Who said a DW was cheaper, bc they are wrong! Also, I was wondering if any brides are using an outside florist? How are you guys handling the drop off?

For my OOT bags, I got my advil, pepto, gatorade packs, hand sanitizer from Amazon. I had to buy alot since I am making 50 bags and it was the best price. For travel size sunscreen and aloe, I am going to either Bed Bath Beyond or Target b/c they sell them for $.99/each and that's the cheapest I found even on the net. If you're looking for awesome, cheap koozies, I recommend www.KoozieRevolution.com. I got 100 made for $80. The quality and turnaround was fast too.

Thanks Amara3CUS! I even talked to my WC and was like is he alive b/c he was responsive at first but then nothing for months. After I posted, I sent one last ditch email to Father Benito and he FINALLY responded. He said he would send me the ceremony information shortly. I just want to make sure my program reflects what's really happening b/c I've been to weddings where ppl don't know when to stand, kneel, sit and it's so awkward.

HI is anyone using Father Aguilar? He was responsive at first but now I have heard nothing. I would like some more information on the ceremony so I can prepare my programs. Anyone have the wording or schedule?

As for the cake, I heard some bad reviews when you try to get them to change the design. One post I read said the cake look like it was about to topple over and it looked awful. I would suggest sticking to one of the options they have b/c obviously they can do that well as we hope! I am upgrading my cake b/c I have 90 guests. For the flavors, I didn't know there was a fruit flavor. Is that fresh fruit? Kalena only told me about Chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, marble and cheese. Um what the heck is cheese? I hope cheesecake but that still doesn't make sense. I ended up going with Chocolate, vanilla and marble.

I have Kalena and I have to say that she's slow in responding at times but I heard she's awesome! I talked to her on the phone once and she was really sweet but there is a language barrier so I have adapted to her "talk" so we can both be on the same page. My wedding is in 60 days and she just sent me a bunch of information and followed up with me on my requests.

Shelbygirl - can you tell me why they wouldn't offer your benefits (i.e. comped nights and unlimited events)? Do you mind telling us who your TA is? I have over 90 nights booked so I am eligible for all of it and I want to make sure to address this before I plan all my events. I have Kalena too and I haven't heard from her in a month. She is so nice so it's hard to be mad but I need some answers before I finalize all my planning. Thanks for the heads up about the resort giving you a hard time about the wedding benefits.

OMG, I am freaking out! I have Lorena too.! I miss Carilis but what are we supposed to do? Just like msjesslee said we need them on our side. Anabrina! I am so sorry to hear you're having a bad experience. Please share your Miami coordinator's name if you don't mind. I also got reassigned my Miami coordinator in the past couple of weeks and have had no luck with getting responses to emails which makes me nervous b/c I had made some arrangements with my prior coordinator and I hope what I was promised is still going to be available to me. If it's not too late, could you use an outside travel agent? I got referred to Teresa Stauring through BDW.com and she's been amazing. She responds to emails very promptly and never makes me feel like I bothering her with my questions. I hope you can still have an amazing wedding and that your guests will reconsider booking their trip for your wedding.

I was really excited about Virgin flying to Cancun too b/c I too have alot of family from SF and LA; however, my TA just informed me that they will have limited. Even by the time my May wedding rolls around! Right now tickets from CA are pretty high:-(

Jen! I love your dress! I can't believe you won that dress. That's really pretty. I know what you mean when you mean if it's appropriate. I am getting married in the chapel so I feel like my dress is more appropriate for the beach vs a church but to each its own. As long as you love it and you look fab, I think it will be fine. BTW, I've been all about the 2011 MP Brides thread that I forgot we were still in 2010 and now am finally catching up on this thread!

Hey Ladies, So has anyone already gotten any frantic emails and phone calls about how dangerous Mexico is? I am already annoyed. Seriously, its dangerous everywhere! I guess since that lead investigator in the murder case got beheaded, my guests are starting to panic. My wedding is not till next May, I think it will be ok:-) Alright done venting! So ladies using outside photogs? How are you telling the resort? I think I am going to book a night's stay for my photog and just forget the day pass b/c it might be easier for him to get on the resort. What do you girls think?

Cynthia, I am so sorry to hear you're so upset. I was also worried about this issue too when I decided on a destination wedding. But I told myself that the most important thing is I am getting married to the love of my life and whoever can come with come and if they don't, then so be it. I know it's hard since they are your very best friends and I am sure you put alot of thought into asking them and you're hurt but money is a logical excuse. But like you said you're giving them plenty of time. I keep emphasizing to my guests how they don't have to pay all at once and they can spread out their payments. I already have had alot of remarks about how expensive this is but I am like if you break it down for food, accomodations, etc, the Moon Palace is fairly inexpensive for a wonderful vacation. No one has backed out on my wedding yet but I have a feeling a couple might. I am prepared for it.If I have unmatched BM vs gm, I'll just double up.

Have you guys heard of Elizabeth Medina? I heard she's amazing and I've seen her work. I emailed her but never got a response . . . I bet she's way out of my budget though.
