  1. Hey Girls! I am finally back and so sad becuase I miss all my family and friends and the wedding is over. The Moon Palace is amazing! Everyone is so friendly and we had no issues! I had some fears gonig into this b/c of the mixed reviews but I have to say that I had the wedding of my dreams! Everyone that attended the wedding thought the resort was gorgeous! My family is already talking about coming back next year. I need to work on my review so I hope to get that together some time next week. I need to collect photos first! But just to put you ladies that have Kalena at ease ....she is absolutely amazing and there is nothing you need to worry about! She is so organized and she really knows her stuff! I seriously kept hugging her and telling her how much I appreciated her because she was with me every step of the way! If anyone has any questions, please let me know! I won't have my professional pics anytime soon but my family/friends blew up my facebook account and posted tons of photos and videos. Here are some pics I wanted to share. It actually rained for 10 minutes on my wedding day as I was gettting ready but soon the sky cleared and brought a nice breeze. It is very windy for some reason as you get closer to the beach!
  2. Hey girls! I am getting married today and sorry it took so long to check in. The resort is AMAZiNG! I can't wait to tell you all about it when I return Thursday. First of all my coordinator Kalena is amazing! If I could take her home, I would! She has been there for me since the day I arrived and made sure my guests were settled and has accommodated every request I have given her. We are all staying in the Sunrise side and all 90 of my guests are in 2 buildings - toranga and sandia. Not super close to the lobby but not that far away either. I rented the carribbean terrace for rehearsal and it was so worth it. My family and friends keep saying what a beautiful and perfect the resort is. Btw Lupita is a sweetheart. I rented the photo booth and did the video with Lupita but i am using Ivan luckie for my photog. We have been having perfect weather here so I pray for the same today!
  3. My wedding colors are orange/Coral and fuschia with splashes of plum. My wedding is this weekend and I'll be sure to post pics of my decor and what my wedding party wore!
  4. Thanks Ladies! I am at work trying not to run out of here b/c all I can think about is packing. Glad to hear it never rained more than a full hour! I am so glad you had a great time and wedding Jenn and BrideKDavis!
  5. OK Girls, I can't believe I am leaving tomorrow! I want to thank all the brides on here for helping me with all my questions and for the support that only another bride could give. I am super excited for my wedding on Sunday and already thinking about how the week will fly by. I am going to have my cousin take all the random pics so I can write a review to pay it forward and to help future MP brides! The forecast is kind of bumming me out but what can I do. I'll try to check in during the week with updates!
  6. I think ppl don't choose it b/c its kind of far from everything. That's my impression. I heard its newer and nicer though!
  7. I would keep emailing her. I actually heard from her 2x this week. She really is on top of it and when I list out my questions she responds to them all. Its funny bc we used one word document to respond to everything and we're running out of colors to show our different responses. A tip from me to you would be put together a word document and list everything out for each even you want or have questions for. Send it to her and that way you have an organized format to track all your responses. I am basically printing out that document and bringing it with me when I meet with her. If your wedding is in August, I would keep pressing her to book your locations b/c for my May wedding, I had reserved the main ceremony/reception locations since December. All others like rehearsal dinner and welcome dinner, I just picked like 2 months ago.

  10. The bride messaged me on this board about having the same wedding day and then we asked who each our wc were. I am praying both our weddings get pulled off without a hitch! But I guess there are only so many coordinators to go around on the weekend.
  11. I asked for Kalena. I have only heard amazing things so I am trusting that. Just like other wedding coordinators she's hard to get ahold of but she has helped me plan about everything and we did start reserving my locations and planning my wedding 5 months in advance.
  12. Thanks Mocha! I will tell them its all under $250 just to be safe. With my luck, I'll hit red. O gosh, thanks for the heads up. All i need is to fall flat on my face. But I will be extra careful now that you said its tricky. I have been wanting my wc since I started planning my wedding. I am so upset they would do 2 so close together but I heard she's good so I hope she can pull it off. Yes, I am glad mine is first. But I just hope the rest of the details fall into place when she's not there. Mocha, do you have an teaser pics from your wedding to share? I love looking at pics since it gets me all excited for my wedding:-)
  13. Does anyone know if a wc can be assigned to 2 weddings at the same time or like an hour apart? I just found out my wc has another wedding at 5 and mine is at 4! How can she take care of both of us? I am starting to freak out!

Mocha, The last time I was in Cancun, it was 2 years ago and when you wen through security you pressed a button and if it was green you could just go through with your bags and if you hit red they searched your stuff. Do they still do that? I am packing a big box of OOT stuff so I am worried I am going to hit red and they are going to make me open my box. So the carriage driver let you have a drink at the bar? That's hilarious! Another random question, was it difficult to get off the carriage with your dress and heels (if you wore them) I am all paranoid of falling off the carriage. My sister bought me like 4 inch heels! Not sure what I was thinking when I told her I liked them bc now I am all scared of busting my a$$

I know I booked at least 5 months in advance and at the time the contact was Reyna and she said 3 months before my wedding she would send me a confirmation number b/c their system cannot reserve anything more than 3 months. Like clockwork, I got an email from Karla regarding my confirmations. This was the first time they contacted me before I contacted them!

Yeah I am paying $86 for both of mine too but like I said they changed the prices and Karla from the spa told me and my bridal party that she was only honoring the 2010 prices till the end of March so we booked immediately. For the brides who haven't booked yet. Start booking b/c the salon fills up fast. My bridal party is split up between both salons and different times. I hope I gae myself enough time to get ready!
  17. That's BS. I booked my locations 5 months in advance. They say 3 months which is what they should do to be fair but they still book ahead of 3 months. I know this b/c another bride on her I friended was upset to find out a few locations she wanted for her wedding was booked back in November when her wedding was in May. I say you keep pressing them.
  18. Good one! Yeah the golf cart drivers! how about the carriage ride guy? Like how much? $5-10 for the drivers? I def will tip the hair lady but need to write that down. O don't worry Mocha, I got lists galore! I am writing everything down!
  19. Do you really tip the photographer? I feel like he's the owner so he's getting all the money unlike the DJ or videographer. Also I am paying for his room to stay the night.
  20. Ladies, I am writing a list of individuals that I would like to tip for the wedding day. I would like some feed back and if I am missing anyone. 1. Wedding Coordinator 2. WC assistant 3. DJ - how much? I am using the resort DJ - JSAV 4. Videographer - How much? 5. Our private waiter for the reception 6. Waitstaff in general 7. Mariachi Band Am I missing anyone for the wedding day?
  21. I believe Sunrise has the most double beds and that's what my TA told me b/c I am like you, with alot of single dudes . . Keep pressing them b/c I hear that they've been sticking ppl in Nizuic even though they were promised Sunrise. I believe I am confirmed for Sunrise b/c I just got our airport transfer via email and it said Moon Palace Sunrise . . I hope b/c I told everyone that's where we're staying!
