Congratulations and welcome to the forums! From my experience... the "in house" DJ's have not been that great. They are more interested in playing what they like and not in touh with the wedding party on hand. If you really love music and want a fantastic DJ.. hire DJ´s Doremixx. He has never failed to disappoint and always puts on a fantastic evening reception and party! ( http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/products/dj-s-doremixx ) Best of luck! Linkn DJ Doremixx Images

The weather will always be the weather... you hae no control! That being said... I have been working here for years and have only had a handful of weddings that were rained out. It is uncommon for it to rain endlessly and will most likely be a flash shower followed by more blue skies! Here is the weather... as I see it. 95% of the time it is fantastic here. Linkn Playa Del Carmen weather, In our own words: DECEMBER, JANURAY, FEBUARY This is the best time of the year to travel to the Mayan Riviera if you don't like excruciating heat. December and January, temperatures cool down and on cloudless days swimming is just beautiful. At this time of the year you get the least amount of daylight, but Playa Del Carmen & Cancun light up at night so it's not really an issue. Humidity and rain are lowest during this period. If rain or a cloudy days do occur, things can cool down considerably. It is advisable to take a light jacket with you in order to stay comfortable. MARCH, APRIL, MAY Things start heating up mid-February and by April you can be roasting on the beautiful beaches of the Mayan Riviera. Water temperatures have not caught up but outside temps have started to rise. The "rains" start in April peaking in July-August. This is a wonderful time to travel because after "Spring Break", things calm down until the summer travel season starts in late June. Water temps are warm enough to swim comfortably; it's hot but not "July-August" hot. Weather-wise, it's a great time of the year to go. JUNE, JULY, AUGUST This is the hottest time of the year in Playa Del Carmen, especially mid-July and August. During these months the Mayan Riviera beaches fill with vacationers! Summer is also the rainy season however if it does rain, it tends to hit only once a day and for a very short period. Quite often you are happy it rained as it tends to cool things down a little, at least for a short while. On a cloudless day in August the heat can be unbearable for some people. Shoes are needed because the sand can get too hot to walk on. Even walking any great distance can become a chore. Dehydration is a major factor during the summer months as well as sun-burn. At 12:00 noon you can get burned in 15 minutes without proper sun-block. SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER, NOVEMBER In September and October the ocean water is hot from the summer heat. The outside temperature drops making daytime temps hot but bearable. Evenings are beautiful and you can still swim at night and be comfortable. This is also hurricane season along the Atlantic coast. Hurricanes or tropical storms can occur anytime between June and December, however the common period is September - November. It is advisable to pay close attention to weather reports during these months.

Moon Palace Ceremony

Congratulations and welcome to the forums! Moon Palace is such a great location for a wedding. So many picturesque spots... you will love it! Best of luck with all your plans. Linkn Moon Palace Images -
Congratulations and welcome to the forums! Moon Palace is always funny about their policies. They also don't allow outside vendors, but they do. They just won't come out and say it. We often shoot weddings as either a guest or stay the night. Unfortunately, this is how they work and will often tell you one thing but do another. Best of luck with all your plans. Linkn

Congratulations and welcome to the forums! I guess it all depends on how your communications and expectations are going with the wedding coordinator at The Royal Cancun. Often, the resort WCs are very good and are able to get all your concerns addressed. For the most part, if you are not doing anything completely out of the normal, the hotel WCs do a great job and know all your options. They are however, over worked and often very slow to respond... so be patient with them. Best of luck with all your plans... I hope this helps. Linkn

Congratulations and welcome to the forums! The Royal Playa del Carmen is a fantastic resort... I usually shoot 5 or 6 weddings a year at The Royal and love it! I have always had the reception take place either at the beach just outside Pelicanos, the main court yard outside the main reception or in the area in front of the gazebo. All the locations are fantastic and you will love it! You may have to get the menu from you wedding coordinator since they often cater the wedding with outside the normal restaurant menus. Best of luck with all your plans Linkn

Moon Palace?
Moments That Matter replied to Smoylan's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Accommodations & Site
Congratulations and welcome to the forums! I can tell you that when you hire a professional photographer... it is our job to make sure your ceremony looks and feels like you are the only ones there. That being said, some locations are very public and that makes it very difficult. The Moon Palace (you mentioned in the subject line) is a very nice space and private for you. Best of luck with all your plans. Linkn -
Congratulations and welcome to the forums! This such a common problem and I hear it all the time. The only thing you can do is stress to your friends and family how important this is to you and that you have already put money down for them. Best of luck! Linkn

I can only give you a couple reasons why you should consider Moments that Matter photography ... and these come in no particular order! You will also find a tone of fantastic reviews in the Vendors section... but I think the proof is in the pudding! Enjoy Linkn To be fair... I only used one wedding so you know what you can expect in your package!

Congratulations and welcome to the forums! All I can say is that the wedding coordinator are over worked and have so many emails to respond to. It usually takes them upwards of a week to get back to brides. Be patient and they will answer your questions. Just make sure you bundle them and ask everything in one email. Best of luck! Linkn

Congratulations and welcome to the forums! Im not sure how the forums works now with newbies starting. It used to be that you had to go thru a waiting period before you could start threads. There have been many changes since I first started here. Maybe a moderator can chime in here and give you the goods! Best of luck. Linkn
