  1. Brandy thank you soo much for the amazing review! Your pictures were great! We all really appreciate you starting this thread, it has helped me a ton! I have a few questions. 1. Do you think the 2 hour reception was long enough for you? I am debating on doing the 2 or 3 hour. 2. How did you communicate with your guest while you were at the resort? I have heard of doing 2 way radio? Or Cell phone pre-paid Sim cards?? 3. How far of a walk was it to get to TI right after your ceremony for you and your guest? I would LOVE to do that, I am also doing TI 2 days after the wedding:)
  2. TimsWife thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much for updating us with this info!! You saved me 300.00!! I had the white arch booked at 650.00 and I called today.. the weddding department told me it was now 250.00 however when they got Monica on the phone she said it was 350.00 (imagine that) the wedding department gave me a price for a plain arch and not the WHITE arch draped in fabric. Well Ill take the 300.00 reduction!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!
  3. Oh and the real touch flowers I am still learning about myself haha, however I did see them at hobby lobby and they look and feel just like real flowers:) much cheaper and they are always on sale! I also think that me being able to save it will be pretty cool:)
  4. I just kept reading so many reviews about the Caribbean Village that it scared me. I guess it is a 50/50 shot, half the people say its ok and half say no way. Most of my wedding party is in the French village because that was all they had left so that was the final factor to me. The Vision in white theme when I booked it was 2900.00, so with the 650.00 arch, 175.00 rose pedals, 200.00 for the two extra BB tables decorated, 100.00 Sand Ceremony, 500.00 DVD and 850.00 for the reception is pretty much the same cost except I dont have the pictures included. I basically just re-arranged how I spent my money. I will have the BB cake and the tables will be less decorated in the BB theme but everyone says they are pretty anyway. I stayed at the Sandals in Jamacia so I am familiar with the Beaches photography as it is the same and its nothing great at all, thats why I did the TTD. I will want some pics of the ceremony of course so I will have to go with SOME of the Beaches photography but you can always pick that package while you are there. So the 1 hour cocktail reception is included in the 3 hour private reception? How does that work? Have you picked your menu yet?
  5. Hi Sophia! I am getting married two days after you! I have 9 rooms booked and the hotel then sells out.. ugh so I wont be getting the 10 room group promo's. I have changed EVERYTHING about this wedding since being on this website! I went from the Caribbean village room and the vision in white package with the 30 min reception to....... moved to the French Village, cancelled the vision in white package and switched to the BB, adding the white arch, sand ceremony, hot pink petals, DVD, doing my own bouquet, and now the 2 hour private reception. Still contemplating on doing the 3 hour one (cause I think I want to be in my dress as long as I can haha!! I guess the more I read about everything I changed my mind on what I felt would be best for my group. Im doing the TTD session with Brilliant photography the Monday after the wedding. As far as pictures from Beaches, I will just see how many I like and pick a package while I am there. Im having soo much fun doing the welcome bags and will attempt to work on my bouquet this weekend with real touch flowers from Hobby lobby because I do not care for the BB bouquet at all and Monica told me a few days ago it is 275.00 to upgrade.
  6. Awe, everything looks great!! LOVE the bouquet!!!!! After looking at that, I decided Im for sure making my own:)
  7. Ok I just sent you an email with our wedding website that has the wording! Hope it helps:)
  8. UGH, yep thats what I thought, yes please post the price on the chairs if someone has that info. From what I understand they are included if you do a Gazebo location but not the beach, but I am not 100 percent certain. I did a message in a bottle invite (just posted pics) and kept the wording super simple. Maybe I will make my own flowers.. anyone else doing that? It can't be too hard.

  10. Does anyone know if the BB package gives you the option to have a round flower bouquet? Also, does it include the chairs on the beach? I read somewhere that it doesnt and that would be an extra cost if you upgrade from the BB package?
  11. GREAT pictures!! Thank you soo much for sharing! I love the hot pink flower petals on the sand. The close up of you laughing and you two holding hands during the ceremony is sooo pretty, and the pink flowers add a perfect touch of color! I for SURE want these flowers on the sand! Did you bring those or did they provide them for you at a cost? Also, do you think the 1 hour private reception was enough? I can't decide on the 1, 2 or 3 hour. Also, the ribbons on the chairs at the reception... did you do those?
  12. Brandy that brochure is amazing!! I noticed you mentioned of having the one hour reception, is this one of the private ones? We have 7 rooms booked so far and will possibly meet the 10 group quota, but I really like the idea of a longer reception, not sure if 30 minutes will be enough or if we should just do that and then move somewhere else for the evening. Any feedback on the private receptions would be great??!! Thank you!! By the way, they won't let me put a "credit" towards the longer receptions even if we meet the group quota unless we put it towards the 3 hour one.
  13. Thanks for the info! I talked to Monica last night and she said they are hoping to have a NEW list of "Ala Ca rte" items that can be added to any package. Things like, sheer bows for the chairs and such. She thinks it will be with in a month or so. If so I might downgrade to the BB package and then just add the White Arch and then go from there. Still can't decide. We only have 5 rooms total booked so far so I dont think we will be getting the "free reception", If not I am really considering doing the upgraded reception as that's where most of the fun will be. I personally had pictures done at the Sandals in Jamaica and their camera/photography is NOT good at all, so I do not want to spend alto on the Beaches photography. Super expensive and very very low quality.
  14. GREAT review Kimberly.. thank you so much! A few questions.. what was the name of the officiant? haha I might want to avoid that. Also, did you book one of the private receptions? Does anyone have price sheet on how much the "extra's" are? Like upgrading the bouqet and things like that. I am doing the Vision in white but I am considering downgrading and just renting the white arch and upgrading my bouqet, but I dont have any prices and Monica hasn't responded to my emails.
  15. Wow thanks! Well 600 is alot better than 2900.00.. so I might consider that! What else do you think are the main differences between the packages?
  16. I don't think I am going to do a private reception but I am not 100 percent sure. I guess it depends on how many people end up going for sure, so far we have 6 rooms booked including ours. I want to do some DIY projects and maybe work on the welcome bags but still not sure how many actual people will be able to attend. What other DIY projects can I do that don't require a headcount? haha. Thanks for the info Misti, the thought of having to get married before or after doesnt sound real ideal to me. I saw on the new Sandals blog (off of the Beaches site) that a couple did a hobbie cat boat race with all of their guest the morning of the wedding... it looks fun! I want to do that! Are you guys decorating the other tables aside from the head table? I have read where some of the brides actually take things to decorate with but that might be a lot of packing for me! One thing I really want is sheer bows on the chairs, but I might just have to have Beaches do it.
  17. 60 days away!! How exciting! I feel like I need to do so much... I have done nothing except book the VIW package and the Trash the Dress session. Any other tips on what I should be working on right now?? Yes I was looking at some of the other brides who have said they have had to actually get married again in their own county to make it legal and that it was a big pain. Carole
  18. Hello everyone! I am sooooooooo ready for June to be here! I have a couple of quick questions.. I am brainstorming on whether or not I should do the Vision in white package or just do the BB package and have the white arch added? Im just struggling justifying 2900.00 for not many extras! Also..I am in Texas and wandering if anyone has the info on actually filing the marriage certificate local to make it official? Do we just take the one the resort gives us and file it? Im getting so excited, I wish my dress would come in.... I want to wear it right now! haha
  19. Thanks for the video! I always wondered what it looked like above those stairs to the beach! I wish they had more landscaping.. those plants next to the walkway look like weeds! I hope those are not in the pictures, but I am sure they will be. They reeeeeeeeeeeally should re-do that area that walks down to the beach with some flowers of some sort.
  20. Hi Everyone!! I would have LOVED to bring in Tropical Imaging also!! I hate that its our wedding day and can't have the pictures we want ! I have heard a few people say they are using "Sheneque" for their hair and make up? Do you have details on her? Where she is located? Pictures of what she does and possibly how much? Also, anyone using veils? I heard its sooo windy there but the pictures I have seen Tropical do with the veil included are amazing.
