  1. Your planning thread is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing! I cannot wait to see pictures of the wedding! Good luck!
  2. First off your ceremony location is gorgeous!!! I think that you have to go with your gut!! It is your day you don't want to look back and regret not going with the color you really wanted. With so many colors in the tiles and the scenery alone your options are endless!! But I think pink would work! Good luck!!
  3. I am very interested in using Marcia as well. But I was caught by surprise when I read that you have to pay for her to stay the night...I also thought it was a 3 night minimun stay too!hmmm... Does she have one or two people accomany her? Is one of those people the videographer?
  4. Wow that review was crazy!! I am not getting married at Grand Palladium but I am sure your review was very helpful for the future brides who are!
  5. Thank you for the review. Hilton Rose Hall is a beautiful resort! With so many options for the wedding location. That resort was on my list too until I saw the costs. At this point I am leaning towards Iberostar Rose Hall Suites. But it is so difficult to choose! Well good luck on making your final venue decision!
  6. Glad to hear that you are doing better!! All I have to say is WOW your pictures are beautiful!!!Thank you so much for the review. I am considering bringing table cloths too and after seeing your beautiful pictures I see that it does make a huge difference!!! Thanks again!!!
  7. I am a social worker for a hospital who works with children who have mental health diagnoses.
  8. I think this topic is a very common problem. I do not care for my uncle, his wife or his youngest daughter and so I have chosen to not put them on my guest list however I do get along with his older daughter so it has left me in a situation where at first I was thinking about just inviting her and her husband but now I am leaning towards not inviting any of them... Urgh..it is difficult when there are people in your family you do not care for but feel obligated to invite!!
  9. Awe I hope you all feel better:) I am planning my wedding for July 21, 2012 but I have not finalized the date since I am not sure of my venue. I am visiting the island in May 2011 so hopefully that trip will confirm my choice. Your wedding is not that far away! Make sure you post a review with lots of pictures. I am so looking forward to hearing how everything goes for you!!!
  10. I love Vista print! I am going to be making pre travel brochures and my STD's through them too!! Your brochure turned out great!
  11. I am going to have luggage tags as the escort cards (they will double as a souvenir) and I am going to lay them in a sand box. As for the table numbers I was thinking about luminaries...but I love the idea of naming each table after a song that is so creative!!!
  12. Yes please include lots of pictures!! Thanks for letting us know about your trip!
  13. Thank you so much for the info!!!Do you happen to know how much it cost to rent the table cloths? Quote: Originally Posted by Krisco1031 The Iberostar is definetly not disappointing at all. The room service is also free. According to Nicole the new pricing will be coming out this month. All the resort fees are staying the same but the vendors will be going up slightly. The rehersal dinner or welcome dinner is included. All you have to do is let her know the names of the guests attending & select the restaurant. The times are 6:30 & 8:30 for that. Met with a DigiPix photographer & am still waiting for him to email me his portfolio. I have to say I'm not impressed with their work at all. I've been in touch with Sungold & Marcia Roberts Photography as alternatives. I think I'm using Marcia because her pricing is more resonable than Sungold. I am having 60+ guests so I have to go with Aunt Ruby's for my reception. I had a chance to see how nicely it looks when its all decorated because there was a wedding going on there during my stay. They do large round tables of 8-10 ppl. If you are not happy with plain white tablecloths Tai Flora offers tablecloth rental in basically any color. Large round paper lanterns also look really nice with the whole beachy vibe. As far as the DJ you just basically tell him either exactly what songs you want played or tell him what type of music you want. You can put certain songs like the first dance & father/daughter on an IPOD or CD & just play it from there. Tai Flora has a website so you can familarize yourself with their style. Any flowers beside whats there have to be ordered & its starts to get really pricey. If there are certain colors you want in your tropical arrangement they definelty work with you. I am buying different types of ribbon to wrap around the bridesmaids bouquets so everyone has a personalized one. There is a small casino there with slot machines, a game room with TVs pool tables, etc., a cigar bar, and a gorgeous spa. You can use the hot tubs and saunas there even if you don't get a spa service (which was one of the highlights of my stay). At night there is a show on the beach with dancing & fire-breathers. The place is brand new. The people there are exceptionally nice & accomodating. Its completely "island time" there...which is why I think responses take so long. If I can answer any other questions just let me know
  14. Wow your wedding was gorgeous and looked like alot of fun!! Thank you so much for sharing all of your great ideas!!
  15. This forum will have lots of ideas and information! Happy Planning!
  16. Wow I know that I am late on this post but that is a very difficult situation. I would consider having a legal ceremony at home so both of your parents can be present and still move forward with the DW and AHR. You just don't want to look back at this experience and regret not having your dad to give you away. But it is ultimately what you and your FI want, I hope things work out for you.
  17. Hello!!to the forum!!! Happy Planning!
  18. Thank you so much for the information. I actually liked the idea of having my wedding at a Jamaican house I thought it would make the wedding intimate and unique but I also think Ibersostar is a beautiful resort and so I just hope the site visit will confirm my venue! By the way are you using a travel agent for your wedding? Quote: Originally Posted by mischka Hello Delgadot It was very difficult arranging a date and time to even meet with Nicole because I wasn't getting a response back. I just pretty much showed up at the resort at 11am and waited for her...I think the begining of the week is better since most weddings are toward the end. Once I got her on site she was very informative and accommodating. I met with her at 1230 after having a tour of the hotel with someone from guest services and I was done by around 2p. Nicole pretty much starts to finalize your details a couple of months prior to your date. Yes, I met with Jodi at Tai Flora and she was wonderful and I had been emailing with them prior. They sat with me and I got to chose what I wanted and they worked with my budget. Well I considered Hummingbird Hall but it is like having your wedding at a house or villa. So, it just really depends on what you want. Once I saw Iberostar I was sold it is already beautiful so you dont need to do much. Hope this helps. Good Luck
  19. I have a way to go before I am going to be going through this procress of RSVP's (wedding set for July 2012) but I know I am most likely going to go through the same stress of having people not send in the RSVP card and expect that I knew they were coming!! I am going to send out my STD 1 year in advance and then the actual inviation 7 months in adavance and I will have the deadline set for 3 months before the wedding. Crossing my fingers this process goes smooth!
