  1. Okay so I would like to bump this topic! I had contacted Merrick Cousley as well and his prices and packages are unbeatable and this makes me a little scared! The pictures on his site look good but I am so skeptical because I just want to make sure he is legit. I cannot find any reviews on him...if anyone has utilized him for their wedding,TTD or engagement photos please let me know your thoughts!!
  2. Yay I am so happy to finally see 2012 brides on here!! I agree with burnison09 if you know your date book it ASAP because of the resort's policy of one wedding per day you don't want to risk loosing the date you want:) I look forward to sharing ideas and planning together!!
  3. Great planning thread there was a ton of great ideas!! Thank you so much for sharing!! I love this forum I feel like I learn something new and get a great idea every time I get on here:)
  4. @ Bree- Beautiful Pictures!! I have a cousin who will be one of my bridesmaids and she is pretty good at hair and makeup so I might have her be my stylist to save me some money...but the spa did a great job for you and your bridal party. Thank you for sharing:)
  5. That is definitely a cute story!! I know this is an old post but congrats anyways!!
  6. Congrats!!! It is a great feeling when the engagement is official!! Happy Planning:)
  7. Oh I love that idea!! Very unique and I really think people will appreciate that!
  8. Thanks!!! I know I love the fact that everything is on video! So whenever I get mad at him or think he is not being romantic I can just watch the video and smile!LOL
  9. Thank you so much!! That is awesome that we both got engaged there. The funny thing is after he proposed and I said "yes" obviously there were people around us and this one guy says to us "Oh wow congrats that's the second time today!" LOL so I guess Times Square is a popular spot for love!!
  10. Thanks ladies!! I forgot to post the picture of my ring so here it is... And here is a picture of me in Times Square right after he propsed...you can tell I am cheesing so hard LOL
  11. Oh no I am so sorry to hear that!! I would just remain calm and know that something like that can happen anywhere and hopefully the resort is heightening their security to keep the rift raft out. Good Luck! I am sure your wedding is so going to be wonderful:)
  12. Yes Congrats and Welcome back Cam!!! I cannot wait to see pictures and your review!!
  13. Thank you so much! He really did an awesome job! Everyone who hears our story cries. It definitely is a story I will be telling for the rest of my life! My FI did not tell anyone in my family he was going to propose that week-end so I joked with them and said that Daddy knew before everybody else!!
  14. So my FI and I have been together for 7 years and we have two children. We have been talking about getting married but I was still very much surprised when he actually proposed.... It was my birthday week-end and I wanted to go to Times Square New York for the day. So my mom agreed to babysit our kids for the whole week-end. So I dropped our kids off with my mom that Friday night and right before going to bed my FI told me that in the morning he was going to get up early to get the car ready and get money out etc. So when I woke up Saturday morning he was gone for about an hour, when he returned we got in the car and took off for New York. I was driving (because I get car sick if I am not driving LOL) so he was sitting in the passenger seat video taping me as I am driving explaining where we were going etc. I am thinking ok he has the camera out because we are going to NY I am not thinking anything of it (well he actually had it because he wanted to document the whole day). So we arrive to NY its 3 weeks before Christmas so everything down there was decorated and was amazing to look at. We went to Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum, ate, walked around, went into all of the shops, we attempted ice skating at Bryant Park but the line was way too long so we just took in the beautiful atmosphere. The whole day was gorgeous. By nightfall we headed back to Times Square and in the center there are big red bleachers for tourists to climb to the top and get a view of the entire Times Square area. So My FI said to me I want to go to the top of those bleachers. So we made our way through the crowd to the top. While standing up there the view was amazing. FI was videotaping everything (we have a huge portrait of Times Square in our living room, the picture is black and white and the cabbies are yellow its an awesome picture) so he turns to me (with the video camera) and he says "So you know we are standing right where that picture we have in our living room was taken." I said "Oh Yeah we are." and he says "Yeah but right now that picture doesn't mean anything to us." and I said "What do you mean it's a nice picture?" and he says "Yeah but it doesn't mean anything." I looked confused at this point and I said "Well what do youwant to do?" and he says "You should scream out "I LOVE NEW YORK!"I said "I am not doing that are you crazy there are all of these people here!" and he says "Well then how about this...so I turned to him and he was holding the camera in one hand and the ring in the other!! I started freaking out!!! I was so excited and of course I said "YES!!" So the next morning FI was on the computer putting all of the videos together. So I sat next to him and he said I want to show you something so he pulls up a video that he made that Friday night before we left, he is talking into the camera explaining what he was planning on doing the next day, he zooms in on our picture on our living room wall saying that is where he was going to propose and he zooms in on the ring etc. It was so nice. Then he says "I have one more video to show you" and I said "ok"… So the video is him walking outside and I see trees behind him, I am wondering where is he at? So he starts talking into the camera, "So today I am going to ask Tiffany to marry me but there is one thing I have to do first before I ask her, I know how much this meant to her so I really hope she appreciates it." He then turns the camera around and he is at the cemetery....my dad had past away in 2008 unexpectedly and it has been a huge devastation for me and my family. I was a daddy's girl and I had told my FI years ago that if he ever wanted to marry me he had to ask my dad for permission, but when my dad passed away I kind of thought that request went with it...well my FI made it happen...he walked up to my dad's grave stone placed the camera on top of it and he got down and he started talking to my dad he said "Hello Mr. Marcus, I am coming to you today to ask for your daughter's hand in marriage...I don’t really expect an answer but if you can just give me a sign that we have your blessing"...he told my dad that he was debating how to go about this he was not sure if he should ask my mom or one of my brothers but he kept coming back to the fact that he knew I wanted him to ask my dad... he then promised my dad that he would love me and take care of me and he hoped that he will be just as good of a husband and father as my dad was etc. He went on for about 10 minutes!!! I was hysterically crying! It was the most amazing thing he could have ever done. The fact that he knew how much that meant to me just adds to the many reasons why I want to spend the rest of my life with him!! I told my FI "Daddy did bless our day because the weather and the whole day were gorgeous and everything went perfectly!!" I know my dad is in heaven crying tears of joy!!
  15. I love your ceremony location your wedding will be beautiful!!! Thanks for sharing!!
  16. I am a 2012 bride too! And I am a huge planner as well. At first everything does seem so overwhelming but since we are starting the planning process early I feel like we have an upper hand in that we can really plan and brainstorm so when the time comes to actually start ordering and buying we will already have done our research and homework. I have already booked my resort as I was really set on a specific date and I am going to definitely be looking into using a travel agent as well we are expecting between 40-50 people and I really don't want to be involved in our guests travel arrangements. So good luck with everything this site will be the best guide ever!!
  17. Wow thank you soooo much for this info this is very helpful!! I am still debating about making oot bags but if the price is right I just might squeeze it into our budget after all!
  18. Congrats and Welcome Back!! I love the dates!!! Good Luck with your planning:)
  19. WOW you are so talented!! I am sure you get that talent form your mother because your dress is so beautiful! I love the guest book that is going to be such a beautiful keepsake. Good luck I cannot wait to read your review and see pictures of the actual wedding!!
  20. Your photographer suggesting to get all of the "important moments" done early is definetly a good point to keep in mind, because I think most photographers don't stay the entire time. Thank you for that tip:)
