@atalanta Yes that is our monogram! I am using it on all of our stationary items. I am going for the Tropical Paradise theme so I wanted bright vibrant colors!! I just mailed off my STD boarding passes and I am so excited my family and friends are receiving them and are loving them. If you want to check them out I have them posted in my photo album!!

I spoke to the salon at Iberostar. However, I am thinking about contacting the makeup artist HH recommends and seeing what price she quotes for makeup and hair. It might be easier to get everything done at HH rather then at the resort and then transporting to HH I am worried about the heat and my hair falling... And yes so far Rosa has been very patient with me too:)

Thanks atalanta! I am still in the process of finalizing our package with Hummingbird, once that is done then I will feel relieved and ready to move on with the fun stuff!!

I actually decided to get married off site but we will go with the Beach for our accommodations.

I cannot wait to see pictures!!! atalanta- I had stayed at Iberostar Rose Hall Suites during the same time as Osharp and like she said there was a wedding 3 days out of the 4 we were there and there definitely was no privacy at all. The resort is gorgeous though and we really had a great time but I was not impressed with having my wedding there. We are actually going to stay at Iberostar Rose Hall Beach for the wedding because that resort is beautiful too and the price is more cost effective then the suites. I had also visited Sunset Beach Resort since it's on my mom's time share and it really was a beautiful resort too. The location for the reception was simply gorgeous the whole resort was open aired which I loved because you really felt like you were on an island. But the rooms were outdated and there was hardly any beach. We had 8 things to accomplish (visit Sunset Beach, Blue Diamond Shopping Center, Suites, Hummingbird, Rose Hall Beach, meet with our photographer, DJ and hair salon) and they were all successful! Over all our visit to Jamaica was wonderful everyone we met with was so nice and the transportation company we used Reggae Tours was the best!

I just came back from a site visit of Sunset Beach Resort and the website does not really do this resort any justice. I thought the resort looked so much prettier in person! I loved the reception area and the grassy lawn is a great space as well for cocktail hour. The wedding gazebo was gorgeous as well and the wedding coordinator was such a sweet heart too she really took her time talking with us. The whole resort is open aired and it really gives you the feel that you are on an island with the wonderful breeze that blows through from the ocean. The only downside was that there really is not much of a beach and the rooms we saw were outdated (although we were told the rooms in the towers have been updated, but they did not show us one). So other then that the resort was very nice. Happy Planning:)

Hello Ladies, Well I am back and I have to say that Hummingbird Hall is fabulous! I met with Alisha and she was so sweet and seems like she will really try to make your vision come true! The pictures of Hummingbird Hall online are exactly how it looks in person. Alisha gave us a tour of the property to show us what our golf cart tour will consist of and the views are breathtaking! Hello Ladies! I just wanted to say that I just got back form a site visit at Iberostar Rose Hall Suites for 4 days and the trip was fantastic! I met with Nicole at the Suites and Elizabeth at the Beach. Both coordinators were so sweet and both resorts are gorgeous! You ladies have definitely made the right choice!! Happy Planning:)

I am so sorry to hear that the transportation issue was not clarified. I have been in contact with Reggae Tours and Gregg has been such a delight to work with. You should maybe get in contact with them for transportation especially if you tell him the situation they might be able to work something out for you. Also I will be staying at Iberostar Rose Hall Suites too so we will be there at the same time:)

@ Osharp Congrats on your upcoming vowel renewal! @ Miss K I plan on having welcome bags for my guests. I want to include Jamaican themed items like small bottles of rum, blue mountain coffee possibly some snacks...but I have to see how much these items will cost. I plan on going to the local supermarket when I am there for my site visit to check out the prices. What are you thinking about putting in yours?

I am not sure how accomodating the resorts will be if you choose to have your wedding off site and not with them... I was wondering this too because I know that the Iberostar resorts will reserve one of their specialty restaraunts for your group the night before the wedding for your rehearsal/welcome dinner and I have heard that they will even upgrade the bride and groom's room to ocean front at no extra charge. So I would still ask the Hilton I dont think it will hurt to see if they are still willing to offer any deals or perks especially if you are booking 50 rooms. @ atalanta- WOW you are booked for 130 people! You are having a large destination wedding! That is awesome! So what are you thinking about doing for souvenirs?

Hello Ladies!! So exciting to start seeing more brides having their weddings at Hummingbird! This venue looks so beautiful online! Yes I am going to visit Hummingbird Hall this Memorial Day week end I have an appointment scheduled with Alisha! I am very excited and I will definetly make sure to let you girls know how it goes! My fingers are crossed that it all goes well! So how many guests are you ladies expecting to attend your weddings? Are you girls looking at staying at a resort for accomodations or at Hummingbird?

If you are really unsure between the two maybe you can have a close friend or family member view both web sites dont tell them how your feelling and see which photog they choose...sometimes you need someone else's view to point out things you may not have thought about! Good Luck!

Wow that is crazy!! I would have been so upset!! My future in laws are not involved in our wedding at all! They dont ask any questions about it. They are not happy with our decision to do a destination wedding but my mom is not that thrilled either but she at least wants to be involved and is taking the "I am going to make the best of it attitude" and I love her for that! My future in-laws want us to at least have an AHR when we get back and I turned and said "ok great idea but who is going to pay for that?" and all you heard was crickets....

Yes I have a really good girlfriend who if I were having a wedding at home I would have as a bridesmaid but since we are doing a destination wedding we wanted the bridal party to be kept small. So I will only have 3 bridesmaids. I knew that she had thought she would be one of them so when she asked me who was in my bridal party I told her the three girls names and followed it by saying "We wanted to keep the bridal party small because we are already asking so much of people we did not want to add more financial burden" and her response was "ok you want to keep things simple" and I said "Exactly":) It was definetly hard and trust me I contemplated adding her but I have to stick to my original plan to keep things simple:) and lucky for me she understood.

Hosting a reherasal dinner is not necesary. My cousin had a destination wedding in St. Lucia and instead of hosting a rehearsal dinner she hosted a lunch the day after the wedding-we were not staying at an all inclusive resort so the lunch was very nice. But the night before my wedding I would like to have a cocktail hour on the beach with appetizers near one of the bars closest to the beach because it will be at an all inclusive resort. I want to be able to give a quick thank you speech and hand out welcome/thank you bags.Then afterward everyone can have dinner at one of the restaraunts. So we will see if it works out!
