  1. You ladies have read my mind! I was going to purchase this picture frame sand set on etsy for $80! Thank goodness I found this thread! Thank you so much for saving me lots of $$!
  2. I love this idea!!! You are so creative and your pictures are amazing!! Thank you so much for sharing! I was going to make photo books for our parents and my FI's grandparents but I never thought of making them for our guests!! Thanks again!
  3. Hello Arnriv !! That is so sad that Stacey is not available for your date:( If she wasn't available for my date the 2nd photographer that I would have gone with was Brian Nejedly. His work is great and he seemed very nice and responded very quickly. Check out his website www.briandesign.com @atalanta-regarding excursions I am going to do a group zip lining tour probably the day after my wedding. I am going to contact Reggae Tours of course LOL to see what group deals they can give me:) By the way I am going to my first bridal appointment tonight to try on dresses for the first time!!! Wish me luck!!
  4. WOW! I just read this entire thread and am just beside myself. I started reading and could not stop! I whipped out my notebook and started taking notes!!! Mrstgun I know you have heard it a hundred times but my goodness you are most definitely The Queen of DIY!!! Thank you so very much for sharing all of your wonderful ideas and for inspiring so many of us to find our inner Marthas! I am so excited for your big day and cannot wait to see YOUR FINAL THREAD!!!
  5. @ atalanta- Things are moving along I have scheduled 4 appointments to go dress shopping and I am starting to work on my invites! And the best part is I have 15 people booked with my travel agent so far!! I am very excited! How about you? Have you decided on a resort yet for the accommodations? What things are you working on?
  6. Hello FoxyRoxy! So sad to hear you will not be a HH bride Finding the venue was the hardest part for me as I am sure most brides would confirm. Like mbjlove said you should look into Half Moon and other larger private villas. If you have not already you should even reach out to private wedding planners on the island they could possibly give you a list of venues that can accommodate your group. Also if you chose to go with an all inclusive resort they can accommodate larger numbered groups. If I come across anything that could be helpful I will make sure to PM you! Good luck!!
  7. @mbjlove2012 You are getting married 1 day after me!! Are you going to be staying at a resort? We will be staying at Iberostar Rose Hall Beach and since it is an all inclusive resort I am just going to have my group meet up at one of the restaurants the night before for dinner. Well Congrats on becoming a Hummingbird Hall bride!!!
  8. Wow you looked so beautiful and your wedding looked like it was so much fun!!! Congrats!!
  9. @ Kayron Wow that villa is beautiful! Are you and your guests required to stay there in order to have your wedding there?
  10. I love the new pictures! Seeing those great photos makes me happy that I chose Hummingbird Hall for my wedding!
  11. I recently stayed at the Suites so I know they provide swipe cards I am not sure about the Beach but I would assume they would use swipe cards too but hopefully someone on here can confirm this for you:)
  12. Thank you so much for that information I did not realize that the Aqueducts and private beach were that far apart from each other I had assumed we would be able to just walk over so I will definitely have to keep renting a golf cart in mind as an option Thanks again! As far as the planning goes I am in frequent contact with Alisha I am always e-mailing her pictures of things I see that I like and as always she is so nice and responsive. I have a word document set up so every time I see something I like I save it on there to keep all of my ideas/inspiration in one place. I am right now just waiting for my guests to start booking their reservations. Have you had any guests book their trip yet?
  13. Yes that was an awesome find!! The clip art fonts on there might be something I may consider for my programs...
  14. @ atalanta- those invites are so cute! That website is really neat too! Thanks for sharing:)
  15. I have booked Stacey too and I actually got to meet her when I did a site visit to Jamaica in May. She told me the same thing that she is not strict with her hours and if the party is going good she did not want to miss out on great pictures! So I am pretty confident that she will stick to her word! She is really a sweet heart. I would not worry at all!
  16. @ Atlanta- Thank you so much once again you have come to my rescue!LOL I thought that was so strange regarding the cake I feel like they should be more clear on what they mean because I took it as they will not cut the cake period! LOL So anyways, you are right there was no ceremony script wording on the questionnaire just the order of services..I am just thinking ahead that's all:) I have not contacted Reggae Tours yet I will reach out to them in September. I plan on utilizing them for the wedding and excursions! I had such a great experience with them for my site visit so I really want to give them business again!
  17. I have a question for you ladies, I am reading through the wedding questionnaire and on here it states "Hummingbird Hall's staff will not cut or divide cake under any circumstance. If you wish to distribute wedding cake- will you be bringing a "take home cake" or order a "take home" cake from HH?" I am so confused by this...so the wedding cake that comes with the package my guests will not be able to eat at the wedding? I would have to purchase a separate cake so my guests can eat wedding cake at the wedding? I have never been to a wedding and not been able to eat the cake. Do you ladies know what the reason is for them not wanting to cut the wedding cake that comes with the package but willing to cut a cake you purchase separately? I am really confused Another question, are you guys writing your own ceremony script or are you just going to go with what HH offers, I have a ceremony script that I found and I really love the wording. Thanks Ladies!!
  18. @ booschmidt- I saw pictures of a TTD shoot Stacey did in Coyaba Gardens and OMG those pictures were gorgeous!!! I am always checking her facebook page for recent weddings she has done I will have to keep an eye out for yours. I am sure they are going to be awesome!
  19. @ JamaicaSukie, I just wanted to let you know that I had a wedding date reserved at the Suites for Saturday, July 21, 2012 but I am going to have my wedding off site and go with the Beach Resort for the accommodations instead so I just e-mailed Nicole to let her know that I am canceling my reservation so I just figured I would let you know that date would be available now unless there is someone else in front of you on the wait list. Happy Planning:)
  20. @ booschmit- Thank you so much for the comments on Stacey! I booked her for my July 2012 wedding and I am so excited to hear such great reviews! Where did you get married?
  21. @Atlanta- my FI and I are staying at the Beach resort as well. I know that if we stayed at the Suites I would mainly be on the Beach side to be with my family and friends so the extra expense we would be spending for the Suites would be a waste for us:) By the way I told Alisha about our three colors and the third one being just an accent color and she did not seem to have a problem with it either:) @ KayRon- YAY! another 2012 Hummingbird Hall Bride!! Welcome!! I am so excited to have more girls to chat with! There are a ton of resorts in Montego Bay to choose from. Go on to trip advisor that might be helpful for you to decide which accommodation is appropriate for your group. I can tell you that I chose to go with Iberostar Rose Hall Beach Resort, it is an all inclusive resort that is kid friendly and is beautiful! The food there is great too and the pricing is reasonable:) Good Luck!
  22. @ atalanta- Thank you so much for the suggestion on transportation for the pictures!! Checking with Reggae Tours sounds like such a great idea I will definitely have to look into that!! As far as the sky lanterns go that is so sad to hear that HH's permit was revoked...that does make you wonder how Iberostar is still allowed to do it...??? Which Iberostar location are you staying at; Grand, Suites or Beach? Also, you said you are using 3 colors for your theme, I am using three colors but on the concept questionnaire it asks for 2 colors maximum...do you know if HH will be flexible and allow us to add one more color just as an accent for the flowers and possibly the Chinese lanterns?
  23. @excellindy Welcome to the forum!! Very exciting to find another HH 2012 Bride! As far as the contract went the only changes I made were upgrades, I added flowers for my bridal party and I did go with the smoothies and an open bar during cocktail hour. Have you ladies heard of wish sky lanterns? They look so neat! @ atatlanta- We just sent our initial deposit to lock in our date so once that is received I will feel a whole lot better. How big is your bridal party? We will have 11 people and I really wanted to have pictures taken on the beach with my group I feel like that is one of the biggest reasons I wanted to do a destination wedding was so that the ocean can be my backdrop so as beautiful as HH is it is a little disappointing that the ocean is so far away for group pictures so I am thinking about taking my bridal party on the golf cart tour with us so I can at least have pictures taken with them on the beach and at the aquaducts...I just don't know how complicated that will be to transport everyone...and it will of course cost more money to do that and I really need to stick to my budget...so many decisions...
  24. @ atalanta-Thank you so much! I actually got my monogram made by Allurements by Rebecca I found her on this forum. I love the added touch the monogram gives and yes I totally agree this wedding stuff is contagious!
  25. Choosing the resort is the hardest decision. I stayed at the Suites for my site visit and it is a gorgeous resort hands down. However, I chose to go with the Beach resort for my accomodations because it is more affordable for my group and it is a beautiful resort too! (FYI, I am actually getting married off site.) The biggest difference I noticed between the two are the rooms. On the beach side there are the standard rooms(which are typical looking hotel rooms with a balcony) but you can upgrade to a junior suite which is what we will do. On the suites side all of the rooms are suites. The other difference is the suites side is more closed in, the hallways to the rooms, the stores, the game room and lobby are all indoors. You feel like your in a downtown ritzy hotel. Where the beach side the lobby is indoors but the hallways to the rooms are open aired, to me you get more of an I am on an island feel. Both resorts overall are nice the Suites is a little nicer with the decor and rooms but you have to think about what is most important to you and for your group. Good luck if you have any more questions please feel free to ask away!
