Thank you so much for that I was really worried and you do have a great point "that wherever the wedding coordinator sets up for your wedding location and reception will be safe for you and your guests." I do intend on taking a trip there next year to visit and actually see the different resorts and meet with the coordinator etc. So with that in mind I can see for myself what it is like. I think that the recent drug issues etc. that has been in the news is probably what has my family rowled up and thinking negatively. Thanks again I really appreciate your thoughts!

Hello Ladies! I am so worried and need some opinions...I am looking to get married in Jamaica with about 50 guests. After looking at so many reviews and people's pictures I am thinking that I want to have my wedding outside of the resort and hook up with a wedding coordinator like (Tropical Weddings or Jamaica Elegant Weddings) but my dilema is that when I have told people that I want to get married in Jamaica their response has been "Oh well I am not leaving the resort it is not safe" so now I am feeling bumbed and discouraged about having my wedding outside of the resort....I do not want my guests to not feel safe....any thoughts would be much appreciated...

Hello ladies! I just contacted Tropical Weddings Jamaica today to get a quote and now I am going to look into Jamaica Elegant weddings. My question is do you guys feel comfortable (safe) having your wedding off site(outside of a resort). I have never been to Jamaica but it looks beautiful and I do plan on taking a planning trip there next year but when I tell people I am looking at Jamaica for my wedding I keep getting the response of well "I am not leaving the resort it is not safe" this is making me a little worried....I dont want my guests to not feel safe to leave the resort for the wedding but I dont want a cookie cutter wedding at one of the resorts either...

Thank you! Congrtas to you too! I am already getting some good view points on things I did not really think about regarding going with a bigger all inclusive resort....like the fact that numerous weddings can occur on the same day......and that onlookers can very well be in the background of the professional pictures that are taken...I guess it all comes down to what matters most to the individual.

Friends of mine are getting married at Dreams Punta Cana,DR next year and the packages look very nice for that resort. Just an idea...

I was looking at Beaches Negril too because our wedding party will have about 10 kids in it and I wanted to make sure that they would not be bored however, the packages are very pricey and the rooms are not that great (looking at pictures on trip advisor)! So good for you that you made the change!!

I am new to the site and am very excited about planning our destination wedding! 1. Tiffany and Barry 2. July 2012 3. Jamaica or Dominican Republic (we are not sure yet, leaning more towards Jamaica) Our date is for 2 years from now so we have plenty of time to plan I am just so excited and would like to at least have a place in mind!This site looks like it is going to be so helpful!
