Congrats and Welcome!! I can't speak for the Iberostar in Mexico but we stayed at the Iberostar in Montego Bay. Absolutley beautiful and great service. If its anything like the Jamaica one you will love it. Good Luck!!

Welcome to this great board!!! I was like you...I knew I was going to have a destination wedding in the Caribbean but I didn't know exactly where yet. I narrowed it down to a few different brands of resorts and then I had FI pick the one he liked the best. So we are set for Aventura Spa in the Riviera Maya. Check out Palace Resorts. They have so many great hotels in Mexico and have a great promo right now. Good Luck deciding.

This is a great post. Love the little money saving tips. I am definitely a frugal person and I know it is going to help with planning and buying stuff for my wedding. I have so much time until my wedding so I love how I can browse websites and posts like these to find good websites to check out for great deals. I have bookmarked so many things and I have started to make a spreadsheet for my budget with the pricing I find for all the little decorations so I have a better idea of how much things will cost instead of just throwing a number out there. The dollar tree is already is my best friend and I cant wait til I can buy all the goodies for the OOT bags. Vistaprint is awesome and I will be using them for RSVP postcards, welcome cards, AHR invitations and probably some other things I haven't even thought about yet. Â Thanks for sharing this info. I will definitley be coming back to this thread as my planning continues. =)

We plan on doing the legal thing shortly before we head down to Mexico. Not sure who will be there but I do not plan on telling anyone besides mom and sis. Â For those who already did this...I was told you still sign a paper during the ceremony. Is that true? Does it depend on the country, resort, something else? What does the paper say?

Welcome!! Well that definitely is a tough one. I was torn between Mexico and Jamaica for a while but I knew Mexico would be the better option for a few reasons. I've heard a lot of ppl rave about the DR. Good Luck!!!

Congrats and Welcome!! Â I'd suggest going to tripadvisor and looking at more photos that ppl have posted. I love doing that because it gives you a real look at everything...instead of the perfectly modified pictures that most websites have. Â I am honeymooning in Cancun. Great place!!!

Outside photographer all the way...at least that is my opinion. It is the one thing I know matters the most because those pics are the only things you will have with you from that amazing day. You girls are lucky. Aruba was always my top choice but I knew no one could afford it. But I will definitley make the trip there one day.

Great article!! I plan to do all that stuff. I am a vacation freak to begin with and I am always the one sending out emails with pictures, reviews, excursions, amenities, etc. I have already told all my friends how great the resort is and all the things included and all the activities to choose from. Went to Cancun last year and Montego Bay this year. Went with Mexico for the wedding because it was a little cheaper and not so far for ppl to fly to. Good Luck.

Great job on these!!! Love the map in the background. Â I know how you feel about the turquoise color. It is so hard for me to find the exact color I am looking for in BM dresses, decorations, sashes, fans, etc.
