  1. I am looking for something too. Maybe acrylic or plastic. Not sure if there is even much of a difference. Hopefully some others will have some great sites to share.
  2. Thanks Erika!! What you say is so true. Its not a priority to them and some are so selfish. I know I will see shortly who the realies and fakies are. I think its hard for me to understand because I am a traveling queen. I work just so I can afford to travel. So when I know this is a great deal at a beautiful all-inclusive place I can't wait to book my trip. I need to realize that a majority of ppl out there do not see things my way. Oh well. I also need to realize that the wedding would be much bigger if I had the other half of my family going. They are Italians and there's a good handful of them. But my father has chosen to disown me due to the color of my fiance's skin. Yup-he has that old school Italian mentality. So sad but that was his decision. (You can see in my profile pic that he is a little tan haha.) So I know that the number of ppl and the finances would be so different if this weren't the case. But it is what it is. Having David in my life and marrying him is what is important to me so I need to forget about all this little crap. Everything will work out and our wedding will be beautiful...can't wait!! BTW..HAPPY FRIDAY LADIES!!!
  3. Well I am the same way...I really only want about 25-30 close friends and family. Our problem is that some critical ppl may not be there which makes me want to invite others who are not so critical but love to travel and have a good time. I know things will change as it gets closer but right now I have days were I just feel like no one will be there and its upsetting. But I know when it comes down to it the most important ppl who care and love us the most will make it there and that is what is really important. Thanks for listening girls. Its nice to be able to talk to you all and get a different outlook on things.
  4. Hi Ladies!!! Well I finally decided to go back thru and read this entire thread. Very informative. What sucks is that my work blocks a lot of things so most of the photos and personal photo links are blocked so I'll have to look at those once I get home. But I definitley learned some things from reading this. Just a little observation... As of right now we have no idea how many ppl are coming - not even a guess. So I am so worried about not having enough nights booked to do a cocktail hour and private function. I was originally under the impression that the "dinner for 35 guests" meant I could have a dinner reception anywhere. Well from reading this thread I realized that is not the case and that dinner meant in one of the restaurants that can accommodate 35 guests. If I want a reception/private function (which we definitely will be having) I have to pay out of pocket. WOW that was a shocker. We kinda based our budget on having that included and now I am worried I'd have to fork out money if I don't meet the min. And a little rant... Also, when I see some of you ladies say you have 50, 60, 80+ guests booked I get so jealous....especially when its months in advance. We really don't have that many ppl that we are inviting and most of our friends are procrastinators and very low on funds. We are giving them over a year to plan and save for this but I think when it comes down to it everyone is going to put it off until the last minute and then have excuses for this and that. I don't want to have to hunt ppl down and beg them and convince them to go. I do that all the time on our yearly vacations and its not something I want to do for my wedding. But I know that is part of the deal when you decide to do a DW. I think my issue is that I know I would go above and beyond for my friends and do whatever it takes but I never feel that is reciprocated. Kinda opens my eyes to the company I keep. = ( Well I just hope that our friends and family surprise us by booking early and staying a couple of nights. I really want this to be the most memorable time for not only us but for them as well. Thanks for listening!!
  5. YAY NICOLE!!! I am so excited for you. I have an entire year to go haha. Can't wait to see ur pics and read ur review. I hope this next year flies by.
  6. That is too funny. That is exactly what I told my FI.
  7. Thanks for explaining. The pics of CP make it look great but it does always seem crowded. I am hoping the Sun Palace is calm, relaxing and romantic. Was it easy to switch back to ASP or was it a hassle??
  8. Kinda looks like mine. I love the crown design it has from the side.
  9. These are great!!! Love the bags. I'm gonna have to go look for those at my local dollar store. BTW...you and I have the same wedding date...1 year apart. You're lucky yours is so close.
  10. Great idea on the "trick"!! What was wrong with Cancun Palace? Have you been to Sun Palace? We plan on having our honeymoon there.
  11. As of right now the plan is to stay at the wedding resort for about 5 days with friends and family. Wedding on Friday, TTD shoot on Saturday and say goodbye to those leaving and then heading to a sister resort in another location for about another 4 days or so on that Sunday. Â I would love to fly to a different location for the honeymoon but we figured we do a half honeymoon now and then save up for Bora Bora in 2012. Since he agreed to that I was ok with our current plan.
  12. I am going to go with Rachel. All her work stood out to me. But they all look great!! Â
  13. That is awesome. As of right now we plan on going to Sun Palace for a couple days for our honeymoon so we get the vacation dollars there too. Â ...well that is if the vaction dollars are still around by the time we book. Right now I was told the deadline is Nov 1, 2010 but I asked Yesenia and she said they have talked about extending the deadline but nothing has been decided yet. Anyone heard anything on that?? Â
  14. Aww thats unfortunate...unless I get to use them LOL!! Â That is one thing I am worried about. I'll have to designate someone to pickup all the stuff that is mine before the end of the night. I don't want to worry about things and have to chase them down myself. Â
  15. Kimberly - Â Did you have to bring your own toasting glasses and cake cutting stuff or was it provided?? Â
  16. Same here. Melissa is so helpful and has answered all my questions in a timely manner. I am booking La Luna but all the info goes to the same place. Melissa and everyone else I have been in contact with is wonderful!! Â
  17. Great site. Turquoise is my color too so this is perfect. Thanks for sharing!! Â
  18. Thanks for the pics. So did you choose everything once you got there? Were there any issues with other weddings going on at the same time so some things were not available for you? Just curious how it all works once you get there. Â And one more thing...how was the disco? Good music?
