  1. Like you said...it will all work out. My mom is a photographer too and I know she will be snapping tons of pics. I am just hoping to have all the special moments captured with the hired photographer so I will try to stick to the schedule. Maybe I can convince them to do half an hour of pre-wedding and that will give me until 7:30 which should be good if the reception starts at 6. I really don't think everything can be done in 1 hr of reception time. I'll have to think about it more and see how I can work out the numbers. I also have a bridesmaid who is a professional makeup artist and a wedding/event planner so I know I will have her running around helping out with things and doing all of our makeup. I feel bad but I know Im gonna be so thankful to have her there. =)
  2. Well these are not my centerpieces....they are not even centerpieces at all. They are decorations my mom made for her bathroom but since I know so many are going with a beachy theme I thought I had to share them with you all. I think she did a good job. =)
  3. My mom does this all the time and she keeps telling me I need to start doing the same.
  4. We are in the same boat. Too funny!! I am excited about the TTD but I will be wearing a different dress so I definitely want lots of pics of me in my wedding dress on my wedding day. I really think I need to do the 5 hrs but my budget allowed for the price of 4 hrs. I'm thinking I might say 4 hrs now and then the day comes and I'll be begging them to stay haha!!
  5. Thanks for the advice. I know the photos are very important which is why my photographer is La Luna which I am very happy with. I made a mistake in the pricing when I picked the actual person doing the photography and now I am trying to figure out how to make it all work out with my budget.
  6. Thanks for the info...it did help. Im hoping that once it gets closer some extra money miraculously appears and we can afford to do 5 hrs. I really don't want to feel rushed and I want everything captured. If all else fails I'll forgo the TTD to get the extra wedding day hours.
  7. Question for you previous brides... How long did it take to do the dances, speeches, garter, bouquet toss, cake cutting and all the other things that need to get done and photographed? Reason I ask is because I am on a tight budget and I need to figure out how many hours to book the photographer. I can really only afford 4 hours but with 1 hour of pre-wedding I am not sure everything will get covered. Ceremony - 4pm Reception - 6pm Thoughts??
  8. Everything looks great. I love the welcome brochure. I will definitely be doing that as well. I did the boarding pass STDs and everyone loved them. Passport invites are next!!
  9. Ditto!! My colors are turquoise, silver and white so all this stuff goes so well. Thanks for sharing.
  10. We decided to head to Sun Palace for about 4 days after the wedding. I know we will love the look and feel of Aventura but I think we will also love Sun Palace. I really like its modern feel...and its adults only. Its rated #2 on tripadvisor so I really think I made a good choice.
  11. Shalanda - How is everything going for you? When do you leave? Where are you honeymooning? Cant wait to see pics and hear your review!!
  12. Erika - Thanks for sharing your gorgeous pics. Love your dress and hair flower. Can't wait to see more. Thank you so much for explaining the music situation. We are definitely going with the docking station and speakers instead of a DJ and I am happy to hear it worked well. We plan to have a main playlist for the reception and just separate ones for the special dances. I hope it goes well. Did you have the docking station during your cocktail hour as well?? If so, did they move everything from place to place without any issues?
  13. This is very helpful. Never crossed my mind but its definitely an issue I deal with. I'll probably use some oil as well. Don't think it would look too cute spraying Windex in the middle of the ceremony haha
  14. Thanks for posting your review Erika. Glad you had a great time and the weather was perfect for your special day. I love reading reviews because it gets me so excited. Just a few questions if you don't mind... - Did you upgrade your room using the promo dollars? If so, was it worth it? - Was the iPod docking station playing loud enough for everyone to hear? How much did that run you? - Do you have pictures to share yet? Can't wait to see what everything looked like...especially you.
  15. That is such cute wording for the tag. Great idea!!
  16. I got these done and mailed out on 11/18/10 - exactly 1 year to the day. These were actually fun to make and I love the responses I've rec'd already. I originally had a couple of typos that caused me to re-print all of them which was so annoying and frustrating but all worth it in the end. I printed them on glossy brochure paper that I purchased from Office Depot. I used the Alyee's free template and used someone's ticket jacket template. So sorry for not remembering who...I have so many saved and didn't save them under the user's name. I created our monogram in publisher purely by hand. Just messed around with stuff until I found what I liked. I will start working on my passport invites in Dec/Jan. Thank you to everyone who has posted their DIY projects. You have all inspired me.
