  1. I also have another document that has the Optional Services in it in case you're interested... OPTIONAL_SERVICES_2010_Nuevo.ppt
  2. Hi aholen, Here's an attachment of a PPT that I received of the Complimentary Wedding Package. Hope this helps! CATALOGUE_INC_COMP_2010_Nuevo.ppt
  3. Hi DiamondGirl -- not sure what the Caribbean Terrace is... I didn't see that. Is that at MP DR? I went to visit MP Riviera Maya. I'll be uploading my pics very soon and have some of the Superior Deluxe Room in Sunrise that we stayed in (the Deluxe rooms were all booked up).
  4. Hey Vettiebean, the WC I spoke with didn't know about any events scheudled for Halloween. Maybe try calling the hotel's guest services directly to see what they have going on...
  5. Site Visit: Ceremony Sites... Beach: The dock is to the left, behind the setup. Zavas Plaza: Sky Terrace: Ballrooms: Again, hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions... we might get married here, but it's not looking promising. We're going to have approx 150 guests, and the number 1 thing we were looking for was space and a variety of sites that could accomodate our size given we will be having 4-6 events... And given that the ballroom is a weird L shape (and 2 of our events have to be in the ballroom)... it's not looking promising. Anyway, happy to help in any way if you guys have questions!
  6. Site Visit: Restaurants and Bars; you can only use some of these for the rehearsal dinner, etc. I actually didn't note which one could or not because traditionally, we don't have rehearsal dinners... but here are the pics! Mojito Bar: 36 types of mojitos here! Spoon World Cuisine: Siena Italian Cuisine Breezes Teen Club Mexican Restaurant (I didn't catch the name of this one...) Zavas Caribbean Bistro: Le Chique One more to come on the ceremony sites... hope this is helpful!
  7. Site Visit -- Overall Resort: I did not stay at AZS, only went there for two hours to take a tour of the different venues. I'll be providing a few different posts about what I learned; this one will provide pictures of the resort itself: Lobby: When we walked in, we were greeted with welcome champagne! The hotel is very boutique-y and modern/chic. I loved it. Such great decor! Sky Deck: This is the terrace you walk into once you're done in the lobby. You have to walk through this part to get to the entire resort. Mojito is on the left and the Italian restaurant on the right. This is apparently the "back up" location if youre wedding is rained out. We're actually trying to use this as our primary wedding site, but given we have a traditional Indian wedding, we'd need this space for 3 hours... so I'm working with Rafaela on this... Overall Resort Views: Here are pics of the resort pools, etc. Honeymoon Suite: Pics of the room they had set up to show us. Spa: This is located above the main Lobby. Hope this helps... more to come on restaurants/bars and ceremony sites!
  8. Has anyone had a party over 150+ people and used the ballrooms for an event? I went down for a site visit this past week (I'll upload pics soon), but I was sorely disappointed in their ballrooms because when you open up both of them, they are an L shape, which means that the dance floor/head table would have to be in the corner of the L... and then the tables would have to be set up in the legs of the L... Does anyone have thoughts on this? Pictures of this? Any other ideas for how to make it work? Thanks!
  9. Thanks! I'm also talking about MP Riviera Maya -- that's where I'm headed on Sunday, so that's what I'll be sending the review about next week. A few of you asked specific questions, and I'll do my best to get them answered for you! Keepin' my fingers crossed that we'll love the resort and be able to book all of our ceremony/reception sites ASAP!
  10. So stupid question, but many of you seem to be talking about MP DR, is that right? Or are any of you talking about MP Cancun/Riviera Maya?! Or does it not matter with pricing?
  11. Quote:Originally Posted by alison15 Those prices seem about right. Often the rooms on Orbitz and Expedia are the obstructed view rooms so they are cheaper. These rooms are located in the Nizuc section You can add these to your group booking as well and they end up to be cheaper than the prices on those websites. To book these they would have to do it through your TA or Miami coordinator and they are unable to do it online. They do have to be aware these rooms might be smaller and the views are not as good as the other rooms. I had only 1 couple choose these cheaper rooms. However they then used their resort credit to upgrade their room so for a much cheaper price they got the same room as everyone else.
  12. Hi ladies! I am a November 2011 Indian DW bride! There's a 95% chance we'll be doing it at the MP! For anyone thinking about doing a site visit, thought you might find this information useful. Palace resorts can give you a double occupancy Deluxe room for $226/night (that's $113 per person per night) for a max of 3 nights. Which is much cheaper than the site! Basically you have to fill out a form (I attached it here) and send it back. Then they'll contact and make the arrangements with the specific resort you're interested in. You'll have to pay extra for your airport transfers. I'm planning to go down to MP next week, and will give you all a full report! Let me know if you have any specific questions and I can try to get them answered when I'm there. Thanks! SITE_INSPECTION_FORM.doc
  13. Hello fellow brides! I am a 2011 bride and am headed down to the Moon Palace in 2ish weeks (trying to book a room & flight right now) to do a site visit! My fiance and I are planning on staying for 2-3 days to check out the resort and hopefully book wedding/ceremony sites! We have a fairly large party so if any of you have received any information about what ceremony/reception sites are available and their respective capacities that'd be GREATLY helpful! I've been looking around for it, but haven't had any luck! Thanks, and of course, I'll take tons of pics and let you all know what I learn!
  14. Thanks for this! I actually found them last week and wish I would've been blogging more 3 months ago so I could've found them! They actually give a lot of information away for free, even to help us find resorts that have done Indian DWs. They also did tell me about the Sensatori wedding last year -- they had to have their reception at the Secrets Maroma... thanks again!
  15. Thanks, will do! Yes, we're only considering all-inclusive resorts. I don't really want to be responsible for providing food and drinks for all of our guests for a 3-4 day trip I also love the Moon Palace. I've heard that if you bring your vendor with you (i.e. photographer, etc), and they are guests of the hotels then you can get around paying the vendor fees. I have a feeling we'll need to bring a lot of the decor with us to create what we want, but my wedding planner and TA seem to think it's very do-able. And although I haven't met an Indian DW bride yet, I'm sure we're not the first... it's just MUCH more challenging than we originally expected!
  16. Thanks, yeah, we have a wedding planner and a TA so I'm letting them handle the negotiating! I just love hearing what all of you guys are getting too so I can give them ammo to have those conversations! The only issue I see with the beach is walking on sand with Indian clothes on; everything is intricate so I know a lot of parents won't feel comfortable walking in the sand. So my question is, do you guys think its possible for them to put down mats or something over the sand and have the seating set up on those mats? Totally fine if no one knows, because well def ask the WC, but just curious if you guys have seen these types of set ups! Thanks again... we haven't booked our dates yet because we're debating between Sensatori & Moon Palace right now... but just reading your convos are really helping us know what is and isn't possible at Sensatori!
  17. Thanks everyone for the comments on the size of our party. We're actually sending out invitations to 500+ people -- hence the reason for the destination wedding to begin with! I didn't want too huge of a guestlist so keeping the wedding at home wasn't ideal for me. We are both Indian and we operate where invitations go out to our communities... and my fiance has a HUGE family all of which have been wanting to do a family vacay for a while (and all of which have their passports and all)... plus our bridal party is 22 people... so I'm pretty sure a lot of the friends are coming too. We also went through our guest list and identified who the most-likely people were to come, and came up with a little more than 200, so realistically, I'm thinking 150 will come. Anyway, so it sounds like the only ceremony/reception sites that you think would accomodate a group this big are the beach & ballroom right? Do you think if we do a standing cocktail hour, we'd be able to use the sky terrace?! I love that place!! Thanks again for all the reality checks!
  18. Not sure if anyone has any other comments on The Wedding Holiday, but I'm considering them too as they are one of the only people I know that have done destination Indian weddings. Anyone use their "Platinum Package"? Thanks!
  19. You guys are saying that the 20% they're offering you is off of the website prices. What are the TAs quoting your guests? I'm curious to see what kind of discounts you're getting -- we're expecting 150 people or so; so I'm wondering how much Azul Sensatori's willing to negotiate with us! Also, it sounds like for 150 people, the only options we're going to have for ceremony, cocktail, & reception sites will be the beach or ballroom; is that right? Or are there other places in the resort that you think we could do a cocktail hour at? Thanks again -- great help!
  20. Thanks 1106wedding, so helpful! So I assume you ended up picking this resort for your wedding? How's the planning coming along? Do they have a ballroom there -- did you see it?
  21. Hi ladies! I am new to this thread, but wanted to chime in as it looks like we're narrowing in on the Azul Sensatori for our wedding! Any words of wisdom for you ladies would be so great! Are they reasonably priced? Has anyone been down there to visit? What's it like -- do you have pictures? I'm really interested to see what the different "venues" are (i.e. the garden gazebo, sky lounge, etc)... Anything would be great! Thanks!
  22. My fiance and I are thinking about getting married at PPR in Nov 2011 -- can anyone please send me pictures of the Garden Gazebo and Plaza Colonial? I've only seen 1-2 and would LOVE to see some more. Â Thanks!
  23. I'm REALLY curious about what they quote you both. We're expecting about 150+ guests at our wedding. We haven't decided on PPR yet, but we LOVE the pictures... we're also doing an Indian wedding, so we're not expecting PPR to provide us with anything we'll need... Â Please let me know what they quote you for rooms... thanks!
  24. Hey ladies! Â I'm thinking about having my wedding at PPR in Nov 2011. How many guests are you expecting? And how much were you able to negotiate the room rates to for your guests? Â We have a certain limit in mind and I'm curious to see if we'll be able to get there negotiating with PPR. Any advice would be great! Â Thanks!
