Thank you all! I'm definitely planning on making a visit to DR later this year to check out a few properties. Have any of you done site visits (to multiple resorts)? How did you guys get around? Did you rent a car? Where did you stay (at the resorts or a different hotel)?

Hi ladies!! I'm so excited to start planning my wedding! I'm pretty sure we have landed on our Indian DW to be at Dreams, but still debating on Punta Cana vs La Romana vs Palm Beach. I like Punta Cana because it seems to have more "extras" than the other two resorts which would give us more options. It also seems to have a lot of terraces to choose from, but with 150 guests are we going to be limited to the ballroom for our reception dinner? Any advice on why you picked Punta Cana versus the others? We definitely want options so we can have the wedding in one place, cocktail hour in another, and reception dinner in another... and preferably outdoors as much as possible. Thanks!!

Hi, so I'm just starting to pick a resort for my Indian DW -- I've read so many great things about this place! However, many of you keep saying it's expensive for guests -- how expensive are we talking per person? Also, how many rooms do you have to book to negotiate prices? How much are they willing to negotiate? Any info would be great! Thx!

Where in Mexico are you getting married? I am just starting to plan my Indian DW and have NO idea what country to even do it in! I was leaning towards Dominican Republic, but now I keep seeing Indian brides doing it in Mexico -- I'm starting to sense that no matter where it is, I'm going to have to take most of the stuff with me...

Hi ladies -- I am just starting to plan my destination indian wedding, but looking into the Dominican Republic. I was leaning against Mexico because I thought it would hard to find Indian decor/caterers. Are you finding Mexico to be a challenge with this?

I'm thinking about Dreams also in DR -- but haven't narrowed it down between the three. Why did you guys decide La Romana instead of Punta Cana or Palm Beach?? Just curious... they all look so pretty and I haven't gone down to visit yet. I've stayed at Dreams Tulum, Dreams Cabo, and Dreams Puerto Vallarta -- so naturally when planning my wedding, I wanted to go for a Dreams resort in DR!!

Does anyone have a recommendation for an all-inclusive resort to get married at in DR? We need a place that has multiple choices of "venues" within the resort. We're having a traditional Indian wedding, so we have several events, and we'd like them spread across a few different places in a resort rather than doing everything in a ballroom or the beach. We're also expecting about 150 people, so if you can think of places with large lobbies or open grounds/areas that we can get creative with, that would be great! We love the Dreams Resorts, but any other thoughts? Thanks!

Hi, so I am relatively new to the boards (and newly engaged as of a month ago and already in full planning mode!), I thought I would start with a very broad question... Is anyone out there planning (or has done) a traditional Indian wedding in the Caribbean? Has anyone been to a traditional Indian wedding in the Caribbean? If so, can you tell me where the wedding was (what island)? What time of year was it? Did you use a destination wedding planner (if so, who) or just an on-site coordinator at the resort/hotel? Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks.
