  1. Mocha have you looked online to see if you can order another transfer? I ordered a bunch from a seller on Etsy. Each of my girlfriends are getting black bikinis and on the bum applying "Team Bride", then the bridesmaids, MOH and MOB will each have their respective titles on their bum, then I'm putting "Bride" with a ring on the bum of a white bikini. I sure hope those stones don't all fall off!!
  2. Good to know! I've looked at the sizing chart on their site, and it says 4-6 is a small. I'm usually about a 4 but purchase mediums for most things at other stores. So I'm a little scared to see how it fits, though I do like the idea of wearing all smalls! Have you noticed how fast things add up on that site though! Three bikinis, two bras and two cover ups were already totalling $320, and that doesn't even include customs or shipping! Oy.
  3. We kept being asked too! We've lived together for 2 years already, so we really don't need any more stuff. So I just signed up online for a "wish registry" for our St Lucia honey moon. People can then purchase "upgrades" for our honey moon but the reality is it all just gets deposited as cash into our bank account! We're doing an AHR, which was supposed to be in May or June, but my FI just got a job overseas where he'll be home for 30 days then away for 30 days on a rotation, so we don't know his exact schedule yet so we haven't even started planning the AHR yet. It's going to be like planning a whole wedding again!
  4. Thanks Mocha! I'll look into that. The shout wipes were came in packets of 4 for a dollar. I'm just going to break them up so each person gets one wipe...I mean no one should be so messy they need 4 each! Our colours are teal and lime, but really we're doing varying shades of blues with the lime to mimic the natural colours of the beach.
  5. Â We bought the first aid kits, trial size sunscreen, mints, shout wipes, playing cards and kleenex packets. We were looking for pool floaties but the cheapest ones were $3 each. I'm hoping that if we wait a bit we can get them from the dollar store. We already have bubba kegs that we bought for 60% off at Candian tire, that we're going to put labels on. I ordered tote bags from discount mugs and was so excited about the colour but I got a call three days later saying they are out of stock till April! Grrrr. We're also doing welcome packets, lip balm, bath and body works hand sani, pepto, advil, emergen C, laminated king's cup drinking game rules, key card holders and little packets of lube (we have a young, party crew coming to the wedding). Phew I'm tired just thinking about all this work, but at least it's fun!!
  6. Â Thanks so much mochamakes3!!! That advice was awesome.... I just wish I had seen it before I left! Lol! Oh well I know for next time! The kits were a dollar each and we only needed 26 so it wasn't too bad.
  7. Sorry, things on "there" not "their".
  8. Hello lovely April ladies!!! I feel like such a late joiner! Our wedding is April19th at the Barcelo Maya Palace. I cannot BELIEVE how fast it's coming up!!!! To the brides with the sister troubles - I feel your pain. Mine is my MOH and pretty much useless. Thank goodness for my other BM's who have completely stepped up to the plate! Just remember that their issues have nothing to do with you and when your special day comes they'll be caught up in the love and excitement just like everyone else!!! FI and I are headed across the border (we're Canadian) today to hit up target for oot bag stuff!! Grey's girl - I may need to join your Etsy Anonymous meetings!!! I've purchased probably about 15 things on their so far! We need a special budget line just for Etsy!!! ~Megan
  9. I was just going to give you her information, but she beat me to it! Gabi's information is above. She has been very responsive and promised to come spend the day to set up! I haven't asked Gabriela about any vendor fees. To be honest I haven't had the opportunity because I haven't heard from her in over 3 months and our wedding is less than 3 months away! So rather than panic I am going to bring in Gabi. Even if I have to get her a day pass or pay for her to be a guest at the wedding it is still more economical; I'll save more than the cost of a day pass just on the huppa rental alone!
  10. Â I've looked into renting tiffany chairs from an external supplier and the pricing was much better - $5 each plus tax, no fees!! I've been working with Gabi at planner one events on these. Her rental prices for the huppa and her flower prices all beat the resort prices hands down.
  11. Hi ladies! Not to be the bearer of bad news but I'd consult your WC about using the French restaurant....I heard it is $10,000 extra to rent it! My mom went down for a site dinner last month and they told her that as well. I just don't want you to get your heart set on it before you check!
  12. Hi Ali! I was thinking about renting chairs from an outside vendor, would you mind sharing your experience with that? (cost, product etc) Â Thanks!! Â And as for the shoes, I'm thinking I'll have to go wedge heels in case stilettos sink into the sand (I love the foot jewelery but I'm a total shorty and my groom is tall)!! I found some satin wedge heels with a bow detail online that I really love. They are almost like booties because they wrap around the ankle so there is a little extra support in them too - sand plus champagne plus nerves plus my natural clutsiness could equal distaster! Â My girls are going to be in silver flat sandals, it turned out they each already had a pair. And just a hint for bridemaid's dresses... check Forever 21. The dresses I ordered from there are adorable and were only $25 a piece! The girls love them and appreciate the low price. Â Love this forum girls! Keep the great info coming!
  13. Hi Ladies, Â I emailed Gabriel last week and asked about the 2 night policy for outside photographers. I didn't ask about buying off the resort photographer but she did say that it has to be a 2 night stay for them to count as "guests". Our photographers are based in Playa, so I'll just use the room as an extra for any off resort guests... Â Hope this helps!
  14. Hi ladies!! I'm getting married in April 2011 at the Barcelo and last week Gabriela sent me the 2010 package list so I'm assuming either the prices will not be changing for '11 or they don't know yet. Either way since these are the prices she gave me, these are the prices I'm paying! I hope that helps!!
  15. Hello Ladies! We got engaged last weekend, and now it's officially time for the planning to commence! I've been looking at the Barcelo Maya Palace. I emailed them 4 days ago but have yet to hear back. I know from the threads on here that they can take a while to respond. We're looking into getting married the 3rd week of April so I'm starting to worry that places will be booked up! Our main priority is that the place we choose is affordable for our guests, but does weddings beautifully and allows for weddings and receptions by the beach. Aside from the Barcelo can anyone recommend a resort to look into? Thanks so much!
