Hey girls, I found this Beaches review (and somewhat of a wedding review) on TripAdvisor..and I wanted to share. I travelled to Beaches with my partner and 3 year old daughter to get married in December 2010, it is a very long flight from the UK, with a stop in the Bahamas to drop off it is 13 hours, so very tired on arrival but sailed through the airport and into the taxi waiting for us. Arrived at Beaches to a warm welcome with cocktails and cold towels, was taken to our room straight away. We stayed in a Parrot Cay Honeymoon suite in the Caribean Village, i had read lots of bad things about this part on this site but we found our room to be very nice, large and well presented with a whirlppol bath and huge TV in both rooms. The Italian Village is classed as the better part and is much more expensive to stay in but were not as keen on this part as it was busy and well, Italian!! and if we wanted that we would have gone to Italy, we found the Caribean village more authentic and quieter and would stay here again. We tried most of the restaurants in our stay, all were fantastic in their own way. Favourites would be Arizona's for lunch, they do a great Grill by the beach with lots of salad and sides. Sapodillas is out of this world, i had wonderful lobster and y husband had Ostrich, both stunning. Kimonos is a great fun place to eat, our daughter loved the singing and fun. All the bars do great cocktails and the coffee shop has great coffee and cakes on tap. I really couldnt fault the food at Beaches it was all very good. The kids club was great, my daughter wanted to go every morning and talked of the fun she had non stop, the shows and parades are also very good, this place is so geared for children but still adult friendly too. We hired a babysitter on the night of our wedding and she was very friendly and my daughter was very happy with her. Our wedding day was perfect for us, simple but we were made to feel so special by Patricia our wedding planner, we chose to get married in one of the Gazebo's and had our reception on one of the covered Decks by the sea. The photos we had taken were beautiful, i was so happy with them i hardly knew how to choose! The staff at Beaches are so friendly and helpful, they couldnt do enough for us, calling our room to make sure everything was ok daily and sending fruit to our room just to say hello, any query we had was dealt with quickly and efficiently. The resort itself is beautiful, the gardens are kept so lovely, gardeners can be seen all the time keeping it up to standard. All the pools are lovely, we tended to spend our time in the Arizona pool as it was quiet and had the waterfall but we also liked the French pool. The only complaint i had on the whole trip was that the toddler part of Pirate Island wasnt working for our stay and this was the only part our daughter could use which was a shame. The beach is beautiful and the sea was the bluest i have ever seen. All in all i can not fault Beaches Turks and Caicos, I had very high expectations as it was very expensive but all my expectations were met and it was worth every penny, my daughter talks about it every day and will do for a very long time im guessing. For families with young or old children, this is a very special place. When we left the staff in the departure lounge of Beaches sang a song to us "when you leave turks and caicos you have water in your eyes" they were right, we didnt want to leave and cant wait to go back.

Hi Jaime, I've never heard of the alteration place; however, I saw these reviews on weddingwire.com..I hope this helps! http://www.weddingwire.com/reviews/lauras-couture-alterations-houston/6eafd1af1eb2f111.html

Hmm...no, we definitely don't have to get married here in Texas before or after Turks & Caicos. Honestly, you do not have to even register it with the state at all (not Texas at least). So for instance, if you're from San Francisco, got married there, etc. and then you moved to Texas, there is no need to register it with the state of Texas. I think most people do it just to feel comfortable. Truthfully, I probably will too What all have you completed? Do you have any DIY projects? You can definitely start on those!

Welcome Apola!! Congratulations!

Hi caroleandchad! I completely understand your excitement! I'm 60 days away, and the countdown has definitely began. As far as the package..I'm not too sure. Have you talked to any other brides (Sandals or Beaches) who've had the VIW package? I'm in Houston (from Dallas) so I can help you with that. I was told that all we have to do is take our marriage license to the county court clerk to have it on file. We'll also need to take it to the social security office, DPS, etc. to get our names changed. I hope this helps!

Hi ladies, Monica has called me twice in the last couple of weeks, but I haven't answered her calls. She says she wants to finalize things. Does anyone have any idea about what she's speaking of? I'm going with the BB package...no upgrades, etc. And this is a dumb question, does anyone know the hours of the waterpark at the resort?

Welcome Nicole! I hope that your planning is going well. Less than a year away! It would be awesome if you and Mrszahakos (another bride on the forum) can meet.
