  1. Girls I NEED help!!! My FH and I are thinking that we might switch our wedding date from April 2011 to late August 2011 (for various personal reasons) and we need help from anyone who has been married/gone to a wedding/gone on vacation to Mexico in late August. We want to know, for real, how hot the heat really is, scares about hurricane season and ANYTHING else you think would be helpful! We are very hesitant to do this (we haven't even sent the STD's yet, thank God), but I wanted to ask the best sources ever- you ladies- before I made any decisions. Please please please help if you can!
  2. We are thinking of changing our date from April to August in Mexico (for various personal reasons) and I am VERY concerned about the heat... I have been reading up about it online and it says it isn't too much different than April but I'm skeptical... And I'm with you Jennster- the hurricane thing freaks me out too- my FH is from South Florida and they are used to this hurricane thing but that would ruin everything for me
  3. I am looking for a videographer as well in the Cancun area.. I don't trust the one they offer at the resort... lol
  4. I'm from Long Island and this is the EXACT reason I'm not doing a regular wedding. LI Prices are astronomical. I am saving SO much money by not doing it there. My brother has his at the Elks Lodge in Smithtown (or Kings Park?) and it was good food, cheap, big room for the hall with a place for a DJ and everything... Hope this helps...
  5. Girls I LOVE this concept. We really are a sisterhood and I would LOVE to be representing the BDWers by keeping it going next year when I get married.
  6. I am considering this, leaning more toward pink and orange but this is too cute!
  7. I'm really not sure why but Lauren annoys me... lol I LOVE Kent, of course and I think Jose is AWESOME and it is UNREAL that he has no formal training. I hope Billy is gone next week... WIMP! lol
  8. We decided by default. Our guest list was over 230 people and I'm from Long Island= NOT CHEAP. So once we decided, we called our bridal party (even though we havent officially asked a lot of them yet) and told them we wanted them to be the first to know- and pulled a "Hey, we're all going to Mexico!" type thing. (My dream, absolute DREAM is to get married in Italy but we obv wouldn't be having many people if we did that. This way we are still having a big wedding. Don't mind if I want to live vicariously through you during this time lol) And then we slowly started telling other friends and finally posted it on Facebook, which, as you know, tells the world. Your idea is SO much fun!!! ))
  9. I wish I knew how many people were coming to mine (even though it is next year lol), I was going to end up making my own kits and of course, the more DIY projects I take on, the more money I spend because everywhere I go I'm pulling things off the shelf in bulks going, "OMG this would be SO cute in there!" or "This HAS to be put in there!" I'm a monster- I can't stop! lol So getting these from walmart would solve some of that problem...
  10. I feel like there aren't enough hours in the day anymore but there is NOTHING better to get away from everything than a good long run! Good luck on your upcoming marathons!!
  11. Yeah I am going to NEED makeup. I use maybelline waterproof mascara and that works well but I am going to need some heavy duty staying power.
