  1. I go to Jen at Tranquil Escape. They recently moved from Discovery Ridge to Westgate, in the SW. She's awesome; I go to her for bikini waxes (quick and pain-free!). www.tranquilescape.ca
  2. It's a knock-off of an $8500 Amsale dress: Good decision switching gowns; the one you ended up with is very, very pretty!
  3. This one, hands down. It's much more current and modern, and young-looking. The other one looks a bit dated
  4. Here's ours! Thanks to everyone who helped with wording from this thread! Natalie
  5. Here's our AHR invitations! Ordered from Wedding Paper Divas:
  6. Green Wedding Shoes is probably the most well known and popular wedding websites right now. Jen does an amazing job featuring gorgeous weddings with lots of DIY details and well-known, reputable vendors (I found my photography/videography team on GWS!). I check this website daily! 7. Ahhhhhhh Cherazi you are awesome (and hilarious...I totally would have stalked the other wedding if I was there, too!). Glad to hear everything is going well so far!!! If you don't have time to post before the big day, have an AMAZING day!
  8. There really is no etiquette with a DW. I'm Greek, my FI is Ukrainian, we had a big Greek engagement party in February for my family, of which many people were invited who we did not invite to the DW. Likewise, our AHR is at the end of August (my FFIL is throwing it) and same situation there. My wedding invitations went out about a month ago, with an RSVP for June 1st, and our AHR invites are going out this weekend, with an RSVP for July 10th. Do whatever makes sense for your wedding
  9. lol yes, she does look pretty fabulous! My parents hit the fountain of youth, I'm *hoping* I got those genes!!!
  10. Thanks Trisha!!! I agree with Cherazi, these photos MADE my day as well! We're definitely pumped for our wedding after seeing these!!! Cherazi, one week eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!! So exciting!!!!
  11. Totally concur with Nat! Congrats to the brand new WIFE! Happy wedding day Sandy!!!
  12. OMG OMG OMG!!! This is ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Beautiful job, fantastic instructions! I am forwarding this to every DW bride I know!
  13. Hi everyone! I've been meaning to post a thread on my engagement party that took place on February 20th, 2011 for a while now, so here we go! I'm Greek, so it's pretty traditional to have a big engagement party (like a mini-wedding). ours took place in Toronto at a banquet hall, complete with my family priest blessing our wedding rings, 100 guests, a DJ and gorgeous decor, done by my Mom & I. I'm so glad that I had the opportunity to celebrate with my whole family in Toronto, as many will not be joining us in Cabo this summer. Likewise, we'll be having a 300-guest AHR in Edmonton upon returning from our honeymoon in August for my husband-to-be's huge Ukrainian family. Here are some photos from the soiree! Our GORGEOUS centrepieces, created by my wonderful mom! Rhinestone candle holders Engagement photo and money box that I crafted up Our bomboniere's (our wedding favours): Mosiac glass candle holders (I wish I had a photo of them not wrapped!!!) Seating chart with rhinestone place cards (I got all of the materials for this from Michael's) Welcome table My Groomie & I! Getting blessed by our priest Sweet table The beautiful engagement cake my best friend (and BM!) made for our engagement!
  14. Hi everyone! Just got back from my bridal shower in Toronto, had a fabulous time!!! Here's a link to my post: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/72754/my-bridal-shower-lots-of-pics#post_1594551
  15. Hey everyone! I just wanted to post a few pictures of my bridal shower in Toronto over the weekend! A huge thank you to my mom, sister (MoH) and Bestie (BM) for putting it all together! My BEAUTIFUL Shower cake, made by my best friend and BM, Kelly! Shower cake and all the prizes, put together by my MOM! Candy jar guessing game (guess cards and jar tags made by me) The BS was at the Boiler House, in the Distillery District of Toronto (flowers and jars by my mom) Shower favours were lemon & caramel macarons. My mom, sister and I packaged them the night before. I made the tags with wood-grain paper and the same fonts/art from my wedding invitations. SOOOOO yummy! The view downstairs from our balcony seating. Mom, Me & Sister Groomie bringing my Mom & I flowers at the end of the shower! So sweet! Practice for the big day
  16. Awesome, thanks Lisa! Cabo Azul is a GORGEOUS wedding. If my mom hadn't insisted on an AI, I would have planned my wedding there in a heartbeat!
  17. Hey Cabo Brides! I don't know if any of you are obsessed with wedding blogs as much as I am, but I was THRILLED to see that Jen @ GWS featured a Cabo wedding this week! It's pretty rare to see a DW featured on any of the top blogs (Style Me Pretty, 100 Layer Cake, Ruffled, Snippet & Ink, etc) but even MORE rare to see one on GWS (probably the most popular wedding blog out there right now). Without further fanfare, here is the GORGEOUS wedding she featured that took place at Cabo Azul: http://greenweddingshoes.com/real-wedding-ellie-leslies-cabo-wedding/ Natalie
  18. Oh wow, thanks everyone I just finished making tags for my bridal shower favours that use kraft/shell paper. Yay leftover stationary!
  19. Teira, I don't know how I missed that!!! Everything looked so beautiful! Fantastic review btw!
  20. I concur with Nat! Have an awesome time Sandy! We'll have to arrange a meet-up after you get back to discuss your/Nat's weddings!
  21. All quiet on the Dreams Cabo front! I've been waiting eagerly to hear all about Teira and KiwiBride's weddings!!!! Where are the photos!? Where are the reviews!?
  22. lolol you are so organized!!! I've just ordered the last of our centrepiece items (barnwood frames and moroccan lanterns). I've never had so much difficulty ordering from the US ever!
  23. YES! I am! Things feel overwhelming right now! I am very, very happy that we picked the date we did (July 27) as I will have ample time to get everything ready before we leave (I'm a teacher; last day of work is June 30, so I have 3 weeks to get everything ready before we leave on July 21st). # months today wooooooohoooooooo!
  24. Here's mine! Wild Silk Chiffon Dahlia from Untamed Petals (on Etsy!)
