  1. I'm confused :S Doesn't the store where you bought your dress do the alterations? I bought mine at Cameo & Cufflinks, and getting my alterations done by their in-house seamstress (when it comes in). Is there a benefit to getting it altered elsewhere? Or do not all bridal stores in Calgary offer alterations?
  2. I think it's sad that you felt the need to retract your original opinion because a few brides disagreed and replied in typical bride fashion: overprotective and overreacting. I totally agree with you in that many, MANY of the items on here are overpriced, and think a lot of the items posted on here show a lack of class. I wouldn't be surprised to see someone try and sell their bridal lingerie if they could recoup the cost!
  3. I have not been able to find a wholesale florist that will ship to Cabo, but this is who I am using for our AHR in Edmonton in August: www.fiftyflowers.com
  4. I don't care how "real" real touch flowers look (they look very real!) there is nothing, nothing, NOTHING like fresh flowers... especially when you're having a DW!!!!
  5. Hey y'all! Am I the only one who thinks OOT bags are tons of work, under-appreciated and a little useless? I am totally for a welcome brochure, letting guests know of the weeks' events, but what the heck is the point of an OOT bag when staying at an AI resort (as most are on this site). The resorts provide almost ALL of the items listed on the master list of OOT bag contents, and many are common sense items your guests would pack. With most airlines beginning to charge for a second bag as of next week (AirCanada, Westjet for you fellow Canadian brides), this seems like it would add up to a huge cost, so unnecessarily! There are many, many other things I would rather put our wedding budget towards. Kudos to all brides that put in the TIME & the EFFORT to put together OOT bags, but I just don't see the point.
  6. Congrats Emelie! Can't wait to hear all about it!
  7. I'm also having two bands (one for either side)...this has answered a lot of my questions, thanks ladies!
  8. Ladies you're going to LOVE this (the couple is from Calgary!): http://tracyconnery.com/?p=4705 STUNNING!
  9. Awesome, looking forward to this ladies See you tonight!
  10. Sounds great ladies! See you then
  11. I think the Tuesday (14th) will work better for me, but could make the 16th work. Any of those locations works for me. Yay Wine!
  12. Either of those dates work for me as well. If 17th is a no-go, we could do Kensington (Wine Bar) or Bridgeland (AKA Winebar) or Marda Loop (Narah Hookah Lounge). Let's get some more suggestions as well!
  13. Welcome Ker! I have hired an outside photographer/videographer. My FI and are getting married in Cabo, and are flying in our P/V teacm from Los Angeles. Most require you to pay for their travel expenses, plus photo/vid packages. This was the best decision for us, as we weren't happy with the style of photography being offerred in LC, and are getting a top-notch team. I'd research what's available in Jamaica, and see if anything suits your taste and style!
  14. Also thanks Linds and Cookie for the dress compliments One of the first I tried on, love love love it!
  15. Sandy, my e-ring and wedding bands are Tacori, but we had them set and purchased the diamond by our own jeweller, Dave @ August Jewellers. It's right downtown on 9th in one of the heritage buildings. Not cheap, but he's passionate, professional and knows his stuff!
  16. Very well put. It can be very easy to "hide behind the screen" and forget that someone is reading what you write, as a person (and bride!).
  17. I think that Dreams makes you get the Tiffany chairs through them. They have a bunch of different colours, too!
  18. Hey Linds! I got it at Cameo & Cufflinks! For the most part they were really great, and I loved the dress, so it all worked out! Where did you get your dress from? When do you expect it to come in? I was thinking if we plan something in the evening the week of December 13-17th? What does everyone think? I know it's a super-busy time, so we can wait until the New Year...
  19. We're lucky that we're able to take more time off to have a honeymoon in addition to out 10 days in Cabo. For our honeymoon we're taking two weeks and driving along the coast of Southern California (San Diego to San Francisco). Very excited
  20. Such a smart idea Erika! Another thing for me to add to my list
  21. lol that formatted strangely! What I tried to write was that we just bought my wedding bands today! I got two eternity bands to flank either side of my engagement ring! I can't wait until July to wear them all together!
