My family was the same way and some people are not coming due to fear...My family lives in Hawaii and I decided that Mexico was what we wanted. Just got the call that my dress came in..nothing like a little extra motavation... Crappy thing is I've gained 2 lbs..but I'm blaming it on "that time of the month". But I'm still feeling good and back into a size 8...Would love to lose another 7 lbs and I only have 80 days..

I did the same thing..my sister is a size 2 and my mom a 6...I was a 12. I waited until I lost the 1st 10 pounds before I would go dress shopping. I have now lost about 15 and hoping for 5 more. Don't worry about having the dress taken in..they ordered mine in a 12 and I'm not an 8...they can take it in. Just go when you are comfortable.

Cost wise you are better off having them stay at condos in Kihei. Condos in Wailea are not cheap and Kihei has more to do. The only condo I know of that is pretty cheap and on the beach is on the far end of Kihei..my parents have a condo there..is Menheune Shores but you might want to stay closer to the Wailea side.

Hello, I have not been to that one but the owner and chef owns Maui Taco's and they are my favorite ; ) I would have your guests stay in Wailea..I prefer it over Ka'anapali. There is alot to do on the Kihei/Wailea side of the island. Also in Jan you have less of a chance of rain on the Wailea side. The properties in Wailea are very nice..and if you can afford it stay at the Grand Wailea..the pool and hotel are the best I have seen in the world. Also make sure while you are there to go to Mama's Fish House for dinner..maybe do your Welcome dinner there..it is beautiful and the food is to die for : ) They also do weddings and are right on the beach..Let me know if you think of any other questions..I'm happy to help

Here is our cake..we actually planned the wedding around it..it was the 1st thing we picked. It is costing alot but we are excited about it

We invited about 100 and it looks like we may have 24-30. I sent out save the dates a year in advance...then the invites about 4 months ahead. I asked for the RSVP's back by April 1st for the wedding that is June 18th. We have not heard from alot of people still. We are planning to send out a letter to the people who are coming just giving the schedule of events and any helpful trip details.

I agree...I was not going to tip much but after all of the work she has done and knowing that her pay was cut when she was already having a hard time ( I hung out with her in August 2010) I'm working a large tip into my budget.

I hit my 1st weight goal..and dropped from a size 12 to an 8 (that was a year of hard work). I would still love to get down 5-10 pounds and I have 3 months...getting excited..nothing like a wedding dress and wearing a bathing suit in front of family and friends to get me going. I also put a picture on my treadmill of a model in a wedding dress that looks a bit like my dress...that skinny chick pisses me off and makes me work harder : )

Hello everyone..the rsvp's are starting to come in and I'm not sure we are going to have close to the amount of people that we thought...We were planning on 40 out of the 100 we invited and it looks like we will have under 30. I'm not sure that I should still do the platinum package. Is anyone doing the gold package? I'm scared that I'll regret it if I change to the gold package but can't help to think it would be great to save the money.

Thinking about doing a bridal boot camp...not cheap but I need someone to yell at me and get me moving. Has anyone ever done one?
