No problem! I hope this all makes sense! I tried to add as much of my mistakes as I could so you won't have to learn anything the hard way, but if you have any questions or anything just let me know. Also, it doesn't have to be just your wedding logo, you could use any rubber stamps like ones that say "love" or even just Christmas ones -really anything!
-
Thanks Guys! I bought the stamp at rubberstamps.net. I went with the 3 inch stamp but you can do any size you want. I really like the 3 inch size though and if I have time, I might make my own coasters using it as well. I had a great experience using this company! Salt Dough Recipe 2 cups All Purpose Flour (don't use bread flour or anything that will rise) 1 Cup fine salt ( I only had flake for the first batch but it didn't work with the stamp so just use fine) 3/4 to 1 Cup Warm Water Mix the flour and the salt together and then add the water a bit at a time while mixing the dough together. You want it to be like bread dough, not to wet or not too crumbly, you might not need all of the water. Then turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for at least 5 minutes! Once it's well kneaded, roll out your dough to your desired thickness. **I found that if I went too thin, the sides would curl up when drying though, so don't go too crazy. Then get stamping! I just bought an ink pad in the color I wanted, nothing special, just a normal ink pad. To be honest, the stamping bit was the hardest part for me! I definitely had some go into the trash! But no big deal. When you are done stamping, cut out your shapes (I used a cup) and poke a hole in the top. Then set them out to dry. I put mine out in the sun on parchment paper and kept turning them over every hour or so. Don't put them in the oven, they will puff up even on low heat! I eventually got a bit impatient and put them in my food dehydrator on a low setting and that worked just fine too. Make sure either way that you let them dry completely! It might even take a day or so, just make sure not to leave them outside over night or they will get too damp! I learned that the hard way! I think each full batch made me about 20 ornaments give or take. After they have dried, I sprayed them with varnish. I bought both the shiny varnish and the matte, in the end I preferred the matte. You do need to varnish them though otherwise they will take on moisture and be ruined. I then glued a few rhinestones on them but you don't have to of course! If you want you could even brush a bit of elmer's glue and add some glitter or just leave them as is. That's it! A bit time consuming but still easy and cheap!

Actually the new picture helps! I think that I would change to that color for the dress. At least only one girl has ordered!! I think you can keep the yellow as an accent though, maybe in their flowers or something? The dresses are beautiful either way!! -

That's actually a good point! My sister's a redhead and she can't wear yellow. This is tough!! -
Thanks Guys!! Msglave I'm so happy to have a date twin!! I can't wait to see your ornaments too, I'll go find them now! For the packaging, It's just crepe paper that I wrapped them in. I cut wide strips of the paper, folded the ornaments inside and wrapped it around several times to add some padding. I'm a bit nervous that they'll break in transit. I then folded the top in a triangle and secured with the sticker Rebecca made for me.

Considering a color change -- help!!
Barbaracopeland replied to jszy10's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Could you maybe use all 3? Like maybe if you have most of your stuff as orange and yellow and just have the aqua as an accent color? I had a similar problem with my colors, I was doing ocean blue and silver originally but we thought it was too simple so we added sea green as an accent and I've loved it so far. Maybe you can keep the yellow dresses but have them hold aqua parasols or something? It's just a suggestion, I must admit that I don't know much about mixing bold colors together, but at least you wouldn't have to change everything, just add some small details. -
I just finished these up and I thought I'd post some pictures, I'm really excited about how these turned out! Since I'm having a December wedding, and I'm obsessed with Christmas, I decided to make salt dough ornaments for everyone. They were incredibly easy to make not to mention cheap- the total cost for each ornament came to around .20 cents! **My Logo and Stickers were made by Allurements by Rebecca. She's a genius and I highly recommend her!! Picture of the rolled dough: Picture of the finished ornament: I made the dough, rolled it out and stamped on the logo using a rubber stamp that I had made and an ink pad. I then cut them out, poked a hole in the top and set them out to dry. Once they were completely dry, I sprayed sealer on them, glued on a few rhinestones and tied the ribbon. A little time consuming but really easy! If anyone wants to make these and needs more detailed instructions just let me know! This is how I'm packaging them:

Instructions on fabric flowers: These are really easy once you get the hang of it. It's a bit time consuming so put a movie on and get crafty! I cut 5 large petals and 4 small ones. It can be rough cuts- no need to be perfect here! Also make sure to use synthetic fabric, nothing natural, and I found that double thickness Satin worked the best and rarely caught fire. I tried thin satin at first and it just kept burning. If it catches fire, just blow it out and if it's not too bad you can cut a bit of the black away and keep going. Also, it's not nearly as shiny as it looks in my pictures. Step 1 Then you take each petal and lightly skim the edges through or just above a candle flame. You have to work fairly quickly here. The goal is to melt the edges of the fabric to seal them from fraying but also to give them the curled edge. Make sure that you melt the entire edge though so there's no fraying later. This was hard to take a photo of! **Oh one thing I learned the hard way- make sure not to have a fan on in the room or any sort of draft. It makes it almost impossible to do this if the flame is bobbing around! I then run the whole petal through the flame to give some texture. This step isn't necessary though, if you want smooth petals just skip it. Also make sure to watch your fingers, when I started I got burned a lot! I made this flower with a bit more texture than I did with the bouquet. Do this to all of your flower petals until they look something like this (or until you're happy with them!): *Again, you don't have to make them this textured though! Then I just fan together the large petals and sew them together like so: Once you get the large petals secured, add the smaller petals and sew them on. I take a bit more care here since now is where things can be seen with the naked eye. I then switch to a smaller needle and sew on the brooch or bead or whatever the center is. Sorry- all I have left is a smallish rhinestone button so it looks sort of silly, but you get the idea. That's how I made the large flowers. For the smaller "filler" flowers, I did the exact same process but instead of cutting petal shapes in step 1, I did circles largest to smallest and piled them on top of each other. Here's a picture of the filler flower: Hope this helps anyone who wants to make them! It doesn't just have to be bouquets though. I usually make these and attach them to clutches or bags to doll them up or sew them onto shirts put them on headbands etc.... Let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks Guys!!! This really makes me feel so happy!! Erin, I don't mind explaining how to make them at all! I'm actually about to make another flower in a few mins so I'll take some photos to help me explain...stay tuned! Â As for the idea Westxgrly, I just wasn't into any of the bouquets that I could choose from. They all seemed too pricey for something that would die. I thought about buying a fabric bouquet on Etsy that I saw and LOVED but it was even more pricey, so I decided to make something myself. I sort of made it up as I went along, but I already knew how to make fabric flowers since I've made some to embellish bags and such and I already had a collection of vintage brooches. I just had to buy a few more of them for the bouquet and I got them pretty cheap at an antique shop. I think the total cost for all 3 bouquets (Mine and 2 BMs) and a wrist corsage for my FMIL was $40, but again that's because I already had the brooches and I used Swarovski beads for the center of the BM bouquets which was cheaper. Â I'll come back soon with instructions!

Yeah I was just about to report this too. I got 2 of them from the same person. I'm a bit offended now, I thought they were impressed with my profile and now it turns out he says that to ALL the girls! -
Thanks Guys! And Roo, I'm still not sure what to do about the handle, I think I want to add something but I'm not settled on what yet- I'm up for any suggestions! I'm also just finishing up the bridesmaid's bouquets now. Theirs will be all silver flowers with blue swarovski crystals in the centers. My colors are Ocean Blue, Silver and Sea Green. Thanks!!

newbie trying to plan a wedding in south of France!
Barbaracopeland replied to mon243's topic in Newbies!!
Hi and welcome to the board!! Â Where in the south are you planning to have your wedding? I think there's plenty that you can do with that budget but what sort of wedding are you planning and how many guests? The only real trouble I see is that you have picked the absolute busiest time of the year for French tourism. The month of August is the most expensive month of the year (it's when all of the French take their holidays) and by default it's incredibly difficult to find accommodations and vendors etc... that aren't charging top Euro for their time. Have you already set the date in stone? Â -
Don't be scared to post that!! I don't want kids at my wedding either, and I love kids! For mine it was simply budget. I'd have to pay the same amount per head regardless of their age and I didn't want that. Luckily for me I only had 1 couple who were debating on bringing their kids (3 of them!) so I just pointed out that it would be extra rooms they'd have to pay for plus 3 extra plane tickets and wouldn't it be nice to have a small vacation with just the two of you etc.. and that solved that. But- had that not worked, I would have put it on the invite as "Adults Only" without blinking an eye. Â I agree with MysTea that if you booked your wedding at an adults only resort, that would be the end of it.

So after some blood, sweat and tears I finally finished making my bouquet! I wanted a bouquet that I could keep and I also wanted to add some of my vintage brooches so I decided to make one myself. I made the flowers and then added the brooches in the center. It's really hard to take a good photo of something while you hold it so the photos aren't great. I'd love to hear what y'all think - even it's to say you don't like it, I can take it! Â

Hey Lua, if you don't already have a site for suduko, here's the one that I'm using: http://www.krazydad.com/sudoku/ Â I've just been copying and pasting them and there are tons to choose from with different skill levels. Â I think I might be going a bit overboard with these welcome books, what was once supposed to be a welcome "letter" has now turned into over 30 pages of book! Jeez!

Different Bridesmaid Gifts
Barbaracopeland replied to gonnabmrsg's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I think that sounds great! I agree with Jessica though, the real gift is you covering the expenses, anything else is a wonderful bonus! With that said, if you're going to do it, I think it should be 2 instead of 1. That way they can use them when they have a fancy date night, one seems a bit sad.
