From the album: Beach Palace Site Visit Pics - November 2010
-
My wedding coordinator, Lauren, replied in writing that it's okay to used outside vendors if they are guests of the wedding and staying at the resort which is NOT what I want so I am continuing to work this out. I want to use local vendors that will not be staying at the hotel. Ultimately the resort wants to make sure they get a nice chunk of the revenue either through the mark up of their preferred vendor or by an outside vendor being an overnight guest. Hellllooooo we have 21 rooms booked already, I think we're bringing a nice chunk of revenue! Sheesh!

Shelbs97, Hiya, can you be more specific about how you ask to have it written into your contract to be able to use any vendor? We have 21 rooms booked (50+ guests) already and I don't want this to be an issue. We don't plan to use many, if any, of their vendors. We spoke about it during out site visit with the WC's but I want to get it in writing. -
Beach Palace, Cancun Mexico wedding review

There is a gorgeous beach at Beach Palace now! Was there in November planning our September wedding. You can message me if you would like a link to my site visit pics. -
I'm very interested in this topic too - getting married at Beach Palace in September and I need to book my photographer. I'm definitely not using the resort photographer, they just aren't up to my caliber. I've corresponded with several photographers in the Cancun area that I like. I just don't want to have issue on the day with this. On that note, would anyone care to share the approximate cost of their photographer? This is something that I don't want to skimp on but I also don't want to get robbed.

Beach Palace in Cancun???
AshleyNicole replied to beebumble27's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Accommodations & Site
Hello ladies, I thought I would chime in here and share the photos of real weddings at Beach Palace as well as my site visit pics from November. Here are the 'real' wedding links: http://shirazphotographyblog.com/?p=574 http://www.chrisbaltazar.com/2010/05/03/cancun-destination-wedding/ http://blog.morganlynnphotography.com/destination-wedding-photography-cancun-beach-palace-resort/ Here are my site visit pics. There are also some Cancun Palace pics in here. https://picasaweb.google.com/Ashley.Paramount/BeachPalaceSiteInspection?authkey=Gv1sRgCJC8rd312I--2AE&feat=directlink Also, the pricing will vary based on the room type that you select. I'm getting married in September this year and the lowest room category (deluxe resort view) for 2 adults for 5 nights is $1600 (includes airport transfers). We have a Group Contract with a TA and have booked 21 rooms thus far but I'm not confident that we got a great deal on the rates. I probably should have done more research. These rates pretty much match the rates on the Palace Resorts website but I would think having such a large group would qualify us for a 'deal'. Maybe that's where the amenities come into play. Once we book 25 rooms or more (which we will) the B&G get 7 nights comped with a room upgrade and unlimited private functions (ie rehearsal dinner, cocktail hour, reception, etc). -

Beach Palace in Cancun???
AshleyNicole replied to beebumble27's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Accommodations & Site
My fiance and I just returned from out site visit to Beach Palace and WE LOVE IT!! It's everything we hoped for and more. We also visited Cancul Palace for comparison and it is beautiful too but BP is definitely the place for our wedding. We can't wait for all of our friends and family to join us there in next September. I highly recommend a site visit to any bride that wants to get married at any destination location. It's a priceless experience to see it first hand and meet some kep people that you will be working with for several months. We also were able to see two wedding set ups over the weekend which gave us great ideas and we got some invaluable infomation from the couples getting married. We also saw what took place if it began to rain on a outdoor reception. One of the most important things that the couples reiterated was to GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING. You cannot hold anyone accountable for anything that was verbal or not specifically written. As for the hotel, it's beautiful, clean, and the staff is extremely courteous. The beach is out of this world!! Wow. I love it. I'm actually tempted to have my ceremony on the beach but the Sky Terrace is breathtaking! I can't say enough great things about this place. -

Hi ladies, My wedding is booked for Beach Palace on 9/10/11 and my fiance and I are headed there for a site visit next weekend so we are very excited. They were kind enough to comp us two nights. We've also invited 230+ guests but I'm confident that BP will be perfect. I'm just *hoping* our guest list stays under 100 so the ceremony can be on the roof terrace. We already have 30 booked and the wedding is still more than 10 months away. I plan to take good pics and ask a zillion questions while I'm there but if anyone has any questions they would like answered please let me know. I'd be happy to ask for you. And I really appreciate the photography recommendations - this is my biggest struggle thus far. I'm very picky when it comes to photos as I dabble in photography as a hobby. But I'm restricted by our budget so it's quite a dilemma. I really like La Luna and Moments That Matter so far. Please continue to send recommendations! -

Wow, this sounds awesome! I definitely want to know how things go. I'm booked for Beach Palace as well but I'm not sure if we can make a trip beforehand or not. Your insight will be very helpful. Please share as much as you can when you return. Enjoy it!!! ~Ashley -

Beach Palace in Cancun???

Hi Laura, Â Sorry for the delayed response. My life just became more chaotic - I started grad school so now I am working full time, in grad school and planning my wedding. Whew!! Â Anyway, I also recently got some very bumming news that my photographer friend cannot attend my wedding bc it's his brothers wedding the same day!!! Booo! We may have another friend attend that is a photographer as well but I guess I need to look into what options I have if one of my guests is not a photographer. I may request sample photos from their current photographer and see what those look like. Â As far as the wedding packages go, they have a few different selection that you can choose from that include everything for a price. Or you can opt for the complimentary ceremony and bring your own decor and select the other options that are important to you sort of 'a la carte'. Â I've paid a deposit for one of the collections but I may reconsider - where can I find decor that I can bring on my own?? Just curious. Â -

I'm really interested in hearing about your photog selection as well. I'm set for 9/10/11 @ BP. And I would also LOVE to see more pics of the wedding details that you mention. And where can I find these chair bows to bring myself??  Thanks! Ashley  -
Beach Palace in Cancun???
AshleyNicole replied to beebumble27's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Accommodations & Site
Thank you so much Laura for your email with the pics! I have to agree that the pics aren't exaclty what I had in mind for a professional photographer though. I didn't realize most of the pics were taken in the hotel room! You asked if I was using the resort photographer and I don't believe we have a choice as the contract we signed says no outside vendors. However, one of our guests is a photographer and will be taking pics as well but I want him to enjoy the ceremony and celebration and not 'work' the whole time. Should I say anything about my friend or not? Do you know otherwise about having an outside vendor?  Thanks ~ Ashley  -

Thisisit2011 and amh777 - I have a sneaky suspicion that the pics we've seen with the gray fabric might actually be the diamond package. They all have the chandelier thing above the table and the clear stone and white orchid aisle decor. What do you think? This is the package I've selected but the gray fabric looks nothing like the brochure pic but the aisle decor and chandelier do. I may need to change if that's what it actually looks like. Any thoughts? Â -
Beach Palace in Cancun???
AshleyNicole replied to beebumble27's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Accommodations & Site
Hi amh777, Your miami coordinator is the person handling your wedding details before you arrive, and they are located in Miami. This person relays all your infomration and details to the 'on site' coordinator. Once you arrive in Mexico for the wedding, an 'on site' coordinator will take over from there. Make sense? As for choosing your package, I went back and forth as well but I selected a collection over the complimentary for a few reasons. I like that the decor and flower arrangements for the table are included. I don't want to haul decor to Mexico and as you see all over these threads, the flowers are very expensive and this is one thing that would be somewhat difficult to bring. We also like that a photo package, fireworks, DVD, and soloist are included as well. These things are important to us but I would compare two packages and determine what is most important to you. Hope this helped! Ashley -

Hi ladies! I'm a new Beach Palace bride - just got the date confirmed for 9/10/11!!! I've been looking through this thread and it is so odd that there's really not too many of us here. The reviews on Trip Advisor sealed the deal for me - we were debating between Azul Sensatori and BP. Thanks for all the pics you have posted, every little bit helps. We are just in the beginning of planning but we've recieved quite a bit of information about the cerenony and private function options. Diana is our coordinator too and we're working with DestinationWeddings.com to coordinate the travel arrangements. So far the experience has been good! Feel free to give me any advice, tips or additional photos!! ~Ashley -
Hello All! I'm so excited to write my first post. My name is Ashley and I'm from Georgia. I got engaged on June 5th and I'm looking forward to planning our destination wedding! We don't have a date yet but are hoping for 9/10/11. We don't know exactly where yet either but it will most likely be Mexico. We started working with a planner from DestinationWeddings.com. Has anyone else worked with them?? I'm looking for a family-friendly all-inclusive resort. Any tips, suggestions or advice is VERY welcome!! Ashley Nicole
