  1. The buffet was recommended to me for over 50 guests, so that people would be able to eat sooner. I guess that makes sense... for 80 people, but the time the last person gets their meal the first one is done eating already. Â I personally still want to do plated though... since its the same price, it just feels a little more elegant. Â
  2. Also great advice lol. I'm going dress shopping this week and I know there's another show in Edmonton next weekend... maybe I'll just go to that one after I go shopping... so if I see a dress I want to buy, at least I already know I tried it on and it looked good. Â
  3. Thanks ladies! Thats helps a lot.
  4. I guess the banner shows up randomly! Try this link: http://www.wrighttravelagency.com/leads/inquiry/
  5. I just heard on the radio this morning that Bridal Expo is on Sunday! I've actually never gone to one of these bridal shows... is it worth going for those of us getting married outside the city/country?
  6. Pam, I totally agree about the neckline. I think that was the one thing that made me love the Maggie dress over the DB one. The bottom of the DB dress is soooo much nicer in my opinion. Â Not sure if any of you ladies are signed up for the Dealfind emails... but this one came through today for a body wrap and teeth-whitening. Not sure if it actually works or not, but for $59 I'm willing to test it out haha! Planning to go in for a session right before I go dress shopping http://www.dealfind.com/calgary/rejuvehealthandwellness?a=96278dcacad1
  7. I think it depends on the mug. If its a double-walled type where the hot/cold doesn't transfer to the outside of the mug, then you dont need a handle. If the hot/cold WILL transfer to the outside, definitely get a handle! Â I'm just going handle-less (is that a word? lol) because I'm used to that type of mug.
  8. We were thinking the grey (i think it was called Charcoal?) and still undecided about writing. I say no writing, he wants writing lol. We dont need them anytime soon, but willing to order sooner for the sake of shipping costs! Not sure on exactly how many we need, but I think 75 would be safe for us. It would be great if they let us do different colors and different printing options! How quickly do you need them? I think I remember you saying your wedding is next month. Â Yay for picking up your licence today! One step closer... I'd be full of super excited energy too if it was me Â
  9. Where did you order the parasols? They're great!
  10. I was playing around with different options on that site and for some reason, the cost of shipping goes up by quite a bit if you personalize your mugs. Thats stupid! Its the same weight and same size package to be shipped... why charge us more to ship something we would be paying extra for anyways?? That settles it for us though, we will DEFINITELY not be personalizing.  KRama - thanks for that code!! I didn't even think to sign up for promo emails  Boo - would have loved to split with you, but we're thinking of different mugs than you are. We're planning to get these: http://www.discountmugs.com/nc/travel-mugs/77/16oz-double-insulated-travel-tumblers.htm  Linds - thanks for that site suggestion as well Â
  11. Pam - thanks for the site suggestion! I'll do some digging... at first glance the mugs were all a bit pricey but I'll look through everything properly  KRama - how did you manage $35 for shipping charges? I'm getting quoted $133 for 75 mugs!
  12. If anyone is interested in doing an order together through discountmugs.com, let me know! The mugs are a decent price, but the shipping cost is ridiculous... pretty much the same cost as the mugs! Would be great to split shipping costs with someone
  13. I agree with Boo and Linds... both dresses look great on you so it comes down to which one you cant live without. Â It sounds like you really want the Maggie though... If you have the room in your budget, maybe order the replica dress and decide once you have both dresses in front of you? Then you have the DB dress on hand in case you dont like the way the replica turned out.
  14. These look fantastic! Any change you'd be willing to share the template? I really would pay to use this template, your FI obviously put a lot of work into it!
  15. Yay Pam! So happy that you found your dress . I am finally going shopping in 2 weeks in Edmonton with my bff and mom. Can't wait!! Â
  16. Ok, now I'm confused too lol. Here's the things I was told (we also took the free wedding package and will have about 50 guests):  we can have the Seaside Grill (and pay $750 for a private event) only if resort capacity is less than 70%. They cant confirm this until a month before though. whether we choose to do a buffet or plated dinner at Seaside Grill, the cost is $55 per person plust taxes and gratuities if we want a cheaper/free option, we can eat in the buffet restaurant (World Cafe?) and they will just section off some tables for us I asked about DJ costs and was only told that we need a day pass for him. Wasn't told anything about no DJ allowed at Seaside Grill  I wasn't told anything about a $20 option, but I would LOVE that if its available! From what I've read on this forum though, its $20 if you want to eat in one of the a la carte restaurants, but it wont be private. It just allows you to all be seated together.  Hope that helps. I agree, the $55 per person (plus charges) is really high. I expected to have to pay something for the service, but not THAT much. It's an all-inclusive resort, I didn't expect to have to pay so much for food that would be eaten anyways! Â
  17. I know what you mean. Most of our guests ended up booking during the last couple days our group rate was valid (thankfully!) but there are still a few people that say they will wait and book later. If money was the problem, it would make sense... but they openly say money is no problem, so... argh lol. Â One thing I've been told by a friend though is that if people cant afford to pay for the ticket right now, they will always make up some other excuse rather than saying they cant afford it... just to spare our feelings so we dont feel bad or guilty about the cost. If thats true, then I guess we should cut them some slack.
  18. OMG Sunwing wanted you to pay $4683?!! That is insane. We're travelling on the 16th (from Calgary though) and paying $1650ish for the gardenview room. Â Lite - I'll be there during your wedding! I'll send happy vibes your way Â
  19. did it take some time for your thingie to change from "noob" to "junior member" once you reached 150 posts? I'm itching to download stuff and still cannot because it says I'm a Noob
