The problem with saying "no gifts" on the invitation is that some people will automatically assume that's your way of asking for cash instead. We're getting around that by not mentioning anything regarding gifts on our invitation... and on our website where we can be a bit more wordy, we've included a little note asking for no gifts, that the time & money involved in coming to our wedding is more than enough, blah blah

Boo - if you or any of your bridesmaids are feeling creative, I would hit Michaels and pick up some silk flowers. You can glue them onto a hairpin or something... i've come across threads here where other girls have done that and they actually look pretty good!

Oh and btw, don't buy the Dealfind thing today. Apparently you cant use the new one if you've already used the old one. Which kinda sucks cuz today's limit is 5 and the limit last time was 3. I totally would have bought 5, grrrr. I love these group-buy sites... whoever came up with them is a friggin genius.

Oh wow, I would not be impressed either! I tried a couple different ones who gave me some insane numbers too. Not sure how some of these people even became travel agents! Glad you found someone you're happy with... good luck with the planning!

Is it ok with you ladies if we meet after 6:30? I live outside of Calgary and car-pool with a couple people, so I'll need to go home first after work and get the car. Wont be able to be back in Calgary again until 6:30 or so.

I found her through this forum... there's a banner somewhere around here that pretty much says "click here to find a TA" so I filled out that form and she got in touch with me. Or you could just look her up on here. Whoever you end up using, I'd suggest contacting 2 or 3 that people recommend and see which one of them you feel the most comfortable with. You're going to need to trust them with quite a bit, so the comfort level is really important.

That works for me! And hubby-to-be is out of town so I wont need to fight anyone for the car lol. I find it interesting how so many of us are dealing with a one-car situation

Really, 2 days?! Is there a loophole that you can share? We have to change our flights if we decide to do a legal ceremony in Mexico (arriving 3 days before right now), but if there's a way to swing 2 days...

That's really sweet! Can I ask if there was any reason you guys decided to do the legal ceremony so far in advance of your wedding? We're thinking about secretly getting married before our wedding as well (to avoid all the hassle of the Mexican paperwork) and dont know if timing is important to the whole process. I'm not sure how I feel about these yet, but apparently it eliminates humidity-related frizz. Huge problem for me, so I'm thinking about doing this before heading to Mexico. Where are you? I used TA Becky (on this forum)... she's based out of Vancouver. I dont live anywhere near Vancouver though, and it really made no difference. She's super responsive which was a huge thing for me.

Del Sol or their lower priced affiliate La Luna. They take amazing pictures... I was going to use them but it worked out better for us to take a photographer from home since she's already doing some pictures for us prior to the wedding.
