  1. If it's Sunwing, bride and groom count towards the group rate. Hope that helps. Â
  2. lol I know what you mean. I'm tempted to just buy 3 dresses (would still cost me less than one dress locally!) and take them all with me and see which one fits my mood when I wake up the morning of my wedding! Â
  3. Welcome! Personally, I'd say Dreams Cancun, but only because it was on my list at one point lol.
  4. Congrats and welcome! You'll probably have better luck finding answers to your questions in the T&C section of the forum
  5. Congrats and welcome to the site! The first thing you should do is contact a really good travel agent (emphasis on REALLY GOOD because there are a lot of not-so-good ones out there). The TAs on this site are great. They can help you narrow down a list of resorts that fit what you're looking for. There's waaaaay too many to sort through otherwise! Â Good luck to you and happy planning
  6. Congrats! Isn't this forum the greatest? I really think I would have given up on the destination wedding idea if it wasn't for all the help here
  7. Congrats and welcome to the forum! There is a section for Cabo weddings... take a look at it, I'm sure you'll find all the info you are looking for there
  8. Congratulations and welcome to the site! If you and your fiance are ok with delaying your wedding by a few months, then it may help. Planning a wedding is stressful enough as it is and there is a lot to do. Take time to mourn your grandmother and start planning when you are ready. All the best!
  9. Congratulations and welcome to the forum! We're getting married at Dreams Tulum, so I'm a bit biased when I say you made a great choice of location
  10. The majority of our guests ended up booking the 2 days before our group rate / early booking bonus expired. I was getting really worried until the calls to our TA started pouring in on those last couple of days. Â Just thought I'd let you guys know in case thats what your guests end up doing too! People really like to wait until the last minute for some reason.
  11. Thanks so much for that suggestion!! I had contacted Del Sol, but they were out of our budget so I will definitely look into La Luna Â
  12. How's everyone doing with the planning?  We still dont have very much done lol. Almost all of our guests have booked on an early booking group rate we were able to get, and we are STILL working on invitations but thats as far as we've gotten. Invitations are probably not even necessary at this point but it would feel weird to not do them  Still searching for a photographer and THE dress... feels like I'm running out of time for the dress part :S
  13. prettypigpig -- when you ordered your dress from them, did you just send them pictures of the dress you wanted and have them replicate it, or did you have them make any custom changes to it? How long did it take? What were the Canadian customs charges like when it got to you? Â Sorry if you've already answered these questions already... way too many posts to dig through lol. You seem to be really happy with your dress so you're a good person to ask!
  14. Oh and I haven't heard back from them yet... should I be asking for a free petticoat? I dont want a veil, but I do like free things Â
  15. There's actually 3 or 4 that I'm torn between lol. The one I like the most is in the destination collection, with a removable one-shoulder strap that reaches over both sides of the neck. Hard to explain, I'll try to post a pic later Â
  16. That's kind of what I thought too... that people would forget their cups or would want fresh ones instead of having to keep washing a reusable one. Figured if the resort cups were tiny or useless, travel mugs would be great. But if the resort cups are decent, maybe we dont need travel mugs! Hmmmm lol. Â
  17. You ladies have conviced me to contact Monica Bridal... so I did . The dress I want is so simple that I cant justify spending the $1200 it would cost to buy directly from Maggie Sottero. Â I love this forum!
  18. This question is more for anyone who has already been to Dreams Tulum, but opinions from anyone would be great! Â Are travel mugs a good idea? I know a lot of brides are doing them, but wondering if DT specifically would be a good place? i.e. do they give you your drinks in tiny flimsy cups, or in larger ones that would be close to the size of a travel mug anyways?
  19. I'd try one of the agents on this forum (click the banner at the top of the page to request one). They're fantastic! Â I had similar issues with two different travel agents before I found a great TA here. If its not too late for you to switch to a different agent, I would do it. Using a not-so-good agent will end up costing you more money (they really dont work at finding deals for you) and a lot of stress that you dont need.
  20. If you are planning to see a Cirque show (I really recommend KA! It's still my favorite one), go to the Cirque Du Soleil website and sign up for their newsletter. You'll get a bunch of special offers for tickets in Vegas and will never have to pay full price for a ticket. Â I personally think the Premium Outlets have better stores than the Las Vegas Outlet Centre (closer to the strip)... but the prices are cheaper at the Las Vegas Outlet Centre. Â There are so many things to do in Vegas, just remember to take good walking shoes!
  21. That's so frustrating! Are you rebooking with Air Canada then? I really hope this gets sorted out for you. Â
  22. I really hope this gets sorted out for you today! I can imagine how stressful this is for you. Hoping that at the very least, that one-time price reduction can be used for you and your guests. Â
