Janet -- a year ago my FH and I stayed at VIM. We absolutely fell in LOVE with the resort and the area. Please send me a message if you have any questions about the resort/rooms/food/activities. We would 100% be getting married there but we have 45 children on our guest list of 210 people so we are getting married at Dreams Punta Cana instead since VIM is adult only. Oh, I am so jealous you are getting married at VIM. It's a beautiful resort with excellent pool bars!

My wedding is in December at Dreams PC. The going price for a slice of cake is $6.30 which is fine.. except that we have 100 guests attending. $630 is a TON for a 100 person cake. Is anyone using an outside baker and having them deliver your cake to you on your wedding day?

Misty -- I sent you the video packages from the resort. Nat -- Thanks for sending the checklist when you get it from work. SMTC (I'm sorry, I do not know your first name) -- Yay for having guests! We were definitely excited when people started booking although it was ALL of our bridal party because they were so excited! My parents booked yesterday and FH's parents booked about a week ago. They were stragglers!

Hey guys -- does anyone have a checklist they can send me ([email protected])? The ones I found on the forum were too broad. I am trying to get everything done before Labor Day since Sept/Oct is busy season for me at work and I only have 4 weeks after busy season ends until the wedding. Therefore, I'd prefer everything to be done with before the end of summer. Thanks! Also -- is anyone shipping anything down there? I'm hesitant but with 12 centerpieces I do not think I have an option without paying a fortune in baggage fees. Let me know your thoughts..

Update on the situation... My FH, god bless his amazing writing abilities, kindly wrote Carolina another follow-up e-mail stating that we are bringing a lot of guests to the resort (60+ have booked and we announced our resort 6 weeks ago) and that this situation needs to be resolved today and that she needs to call him. So she actually called him and said that she has contacted the other bride (guest count under 40) and hopes that she will consider the Bordeaux since the Himitsu/Ballroom are the only locations for our reception. So, I am just hoping that the bride choses the Bordeaux after seeing some pictures. I wish we could use Bordeaux since it's beautiful but our guest count does not allow it. Here's to hoping... It'll update when more news is available.

Update on the situation... e-mail from Carolina: "Dear Thomas: I really understand your point and we are checking options and locations where we can accommodate your group. I will contact you with a final decision as soon as possible. Once again, please receive our deepest apologies for the inconvenience this misunderstanding may cause to you. Regards!" I hope they come up with a viable option. I bet they would hate to see 100-115 people walk away from the resort. I'll update everyone when we hear from her on the final decision.

Hey -- FH sent a very "to the point" e-mail to Carolina. He simply stated that before we booked we informed Sharron that we would have 100 people (45 rooms), if not more. She replied and said that they can accomodate us and booking the reception locations is determined by the size of the party. Therefore, unless the size of the other party is larger than ours (highly unlikely) we should be accomodated first. You cannot put a 30 person reception in an area that holds 100 people if another party in attendance has 100 people. Am I right? Oh well, we'll see when she responds. We had no interest in DPB so hopefully they can work something out.

Wow -- so get this... I am bringing roughly 100-110 people to the resort (Sharron was aware of this from the start). Yet, they booked someone else at Himitsu which prevents me from having my reception at the ballroom (since they are so close to each other). So now they are putting us on "El Patio terrace" which accomodates 50 people. I am about ready to jump ship and find a new resort. What do I do? I e-mailed Carolina, my WC, and simply said.. "Hey, you booked me, you knew "X" amount of people were slated to come, yet you sudo-booked the only site that holds our party? What am I supposed to do? Please tell me". 59 people are now booked. This should be an AWESOME fun time trying to find a new resort.
