  1. I have been there 3 times : Peru
  2. My dad will be walking me down the aisle, but I saw something at a wedding that I thought was a good idea. If you want to walk yourself down the aisle, then you can have your dad/mom/or both lead you into the room or wherever you're having the ceremony. Then as soon as you reach the beginning of the aisle, he/she/they give you a kiss and you walk down the aisle by yourself...they still play a part in it, but it's like you being you're own independent woman before you give yourself away to the love of your life rather than your dad or mom giving you away to him.
  3. Â You can send your info in anytime in the week of the deadline. The deadline is August 27th with late entries accepted until noon August 28th. Â It's preferred to wait until Friday or Saturday morning to send the information I think because that way all the pounds lost in that week would be calculated. Additional pounds could be lost in the time you sent your info and the deadline. Â 50 sit ups at once, so basically in a day but you wouldn't have to do every day in the week. Just doing it once will consider you beating the challenge. Â Besides, it's always best to switch up the exercises day to day and not do the same thing, otherwise you kind of hit a plateau when your body/muscles adjust to the same exercises. Â
  4.   WEEK OF AUGUST 15 - 21, 2010    Tip Of The Week  Did you know that ...Bowling for 3 games is the equivalent of walking one mile? Better grab your bowling ball/shoes and make your way to that alley! Challenge of the Week (I think Ann’s suggestions are great, so I’m posting but ALL credit goes to Ann  50 Sit-ups    Myth of the Week (Is it True or False?)  “Eating red meat is bad for your health and makes it harder to lose weight.† Fact:Eating lean meat in small amounts can be part of a healthy weight-loss plan. Red meat, pork, chicken, and fish contain some cholesterol and saturated fat (the least healthy kind of fat). They also contain healthy nutrients like protein, iron, and zinc. Tip:Choose cuts of meat that are lower in fat and trim all visible fat. Lower fat meats include: pork tenderloin beef round steak tenderloin sirloin tip flank steak extra lean ground beef   Also, pay attention to portion size. One serving is 2 to 3 ounces of cooked meat—about the size of a deck of cards.    Healthy Recipe of the week   Turkey Meatballs with Quick And Spicy Tomato Sauce and Whole-Wheat Spaghetti Ingredients  Sauce:  1 tablespoon olive oil 1 medium onion, chopped 4 cloves garlic, minced 3 tablespoons tomato paste 1 (28-ounce) can crushed fire-roasted tomatoes, liquid included 1 teaspoon finely minced canned chipotle en adobo and sauce, or more to taste 2 teaspoons chopped oregano leaves 1 sprig fresh rosemary Salt 1/4 cup torn fresh basil leaves. Add tomato paste, tomatoes, chipotles, oregano, rosemary, and salt. Bring all the ingredients to a low boil, reduce heat and cook for approximately 15 minutes, until liquid has evaporated slightly. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. While sauce is cooking, make meatballs. Meatballs: Preheat the broiler. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray. Combine the turkey with all other ingredients in a large work bowl. Form into 2 1/2 -inch balls and place on a baking sheet. Broil for 10 minutes, or until browned and almost entirely cooked through. Add the meatballs to the sauce, cover, and cook additional 10 minutes, or until sauce has slightly thickened and meatballs have absorbed some of the sauce. While the meatballs are cooking, cook the whole-wheat spaghetti according to package directions. Drain the pasta and return it to the pot. Add the sauce and meatballs, toss and heat through over medium heat. Divide evenly among 4 pasta bowls and garnish with parsley and 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan.  Yield: 6 servings (1 serving equals about 1 1/3 cups pasta and sauce, plus 2 meatballs)

  19. I thought it would be cute to add a "Did you know?" or "fun fact" weight loss tip of the week for the 12 week span (well, 13, including this week). Every Sunday, I'll add another weight loss(diet or exercise) 'tip of the week'. Â I'm overdue this week, but here it goes: Â Tip Of The Week (August 15 - 21) Â Â Did you know that ...Bowling for 3 games is the equivalent of walking one mile? Better grab your bowling ball/shoes and make your way to that alley! Â
  20. Thanks to moderator Ann for taking up the 'overseeing' position. Â Congratulations on the pregnancy, Ann, and wish you the best of health while the bun is in the oven =] Â Since a moderator is confirmed, the starting date of August 27th will go as planned. Good luck, ladies!
  21. I just spoke to Tammy Host and she notified me that we'll need a moderator to oversee BL in order for us to continue with the contest. I sent msg to a moderator requesting if they would moderate for us, and am awaiting the response. Hopefully, it works out. If it does, then we'll continue as planned. However, if not, then there'a possibility that the August 27th start date might have to be changed until we get a moderator.
