WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 5 – 11, 2010    Tip Of The Week Here’s a Fun Fact: Many forms of dance can cause weight loss. Dancing is a fantastic form of exercise. Not only does it raise the heart rate through movement, dancing also tones and tightens the major muscle groups of the body. Dancing can burn as many calories as walking, swimming or riding a bicycle. A half hour session of sustained dancing can burn a lot of calories. Go out dancing and paint the town red, while you shed pounds in the process.     Challenge of the Week (I think Ann’s suggestions are great, so I’m posting but ALL credit goes to Ann  Bike-ride for at least an hour       Myth of the Week(Is it True or False?) “Fast foods are always an unhealthy choice and you should not eat them when dieting.†Fact: Fast foods can be part of a healthy weight-loss program with a little bit of know-how.  Tip: Avoid supersized combo meals, or split one with a friend. Sip on water or fat-free milk instead of soda. Choose salads and grilled foods, like a grilled chicken breast sandwich or small hamburger. Try a “fresco†taco (with salsa instead of cheese or sauce) at taco stands. Fried foods, like french fries and fried chicken, are high in fat and calories, so order them only once in a while, order a small portion, or split an order with a friend. Also, use only small amounts of high-fat, high-calorie toppings, like regular mayonnaise, salad dressings, bacon, and cheese.      Healthy Recipe of the Week  [The following recipe was sent to me by Stacey (stachr). Thank you for sharing, Stacey =]  Apple Cinnamon Pancakes    (Error: No sugar is used in the recipe, so omit that from the directions)  I'm not sure if the words appear too small on here; if so, please let me know and I'll type them out for easier viewing =]     Â

I absolutely have no idea if they work or not. I have seen it at the store some times when shopping, but never buy it because I'm not sure if it's the organic kind with the 'mother' in it that they use. The liquid version has many other benefits than just weight loss alone. I think it's worth a try, but not sure if it'll work the same. I never tried it, so I'd say maybe look it up online and read reviews from buyers who have used it. Usually by doing this, I find out if it's a hoax or worth the buy before I even purchase. Â If you do use it, please let us know how it goes =] The big bottle of ACV cost me $8 at a nearby publix store, the pills seem more pricey, but if it works, it'd be very helpful on-the-go. Â

And those shoes! love them! Have to know where you got them! I plan on wearing a darker red colored heel and those look like the kind of style I'm leaning for. Square or round tables?
DWBride615 replied to lshaef's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I haven't decided on this yet, but I saw you were interested in seeing pictures. Here are a couple pictures I've found with square table   -
I've heard somewhere that when you exercise a lot, the body kind of retains water a little bit(so weight would be more than when you started), then all at once, the weight you worked off practically melts off. Maybe that's what happened and all your hard work will show soon. Either way, that's awesome that you completed the first week of bootcamp. Congrats! =] Â Have a great Labor day weekend! Â

It's not a wedding south actually; it's east from us in Europe. Well, the biggest reason our budget being that high is because we're paying for the accommodation and rides, etc. for all the guests so we add them in to our budget. They'll only be paying for their own flights and anything they plan to do by themselves. It's not more than the wedding itself, but definitely adds more to budget. Â I still have two years to go, but will post pictures when the time comes =] Â

Oh, how exciting! I love camping...and a long weekend. Lucky you =] Â Don't forget to send in your weigh-ins for the week before you leave, so you can remain eligible for the win. You don't need a picture of you, just of the scale. Weigh-ins are due tomorrow, but can be submitted as late as Saturday 12:00pm EST. Â Have fun! Â

That sounds like a good idea. I hope it works out =] Â

Marla - Â I hate exercising too and I get bored easily. If I don't have my Ipod or some form of entertainment, I will either skip the workout or get so bored on walks/gym visits and go home way earlier than I planned/wanted to. Â Things I've done to interest me more in exercising that I recommend: Â This only works if you love to shop and if there are shops/stores not too far from your home. I would say go for a jog/walk/bike ride with the shop/store as your intended destination. When you get to the store, treat yourself with a small(doesn't have to be expensive) gift for your hard work. That could be your motivation. You get a gift of your choosing for exercising. On your way back home, your motivation could be the refreshing shower and soft comfy bed waiting for you at home. Â Second would be to find something fun that includes a lot of walking. You'll be exercising a lot without even knowing it. Â I actually go to theme parks just for the workout....and for the fun of course. If you're there the whole day from open to close(or even just a portion of the day) that's a lot of walking involved...and for the most part, you're having so much fun and excited to get to the new entertainment to even notice you're really working out and getting sore. I don't even realize how much exercise I've gotten until the drive home or the next day. Â I don't usually stay this long, but I remember last June when I went to the HP amusement park grand opening, E and I stayed the whole day from 5am to 10pm (didn't actually open until 11am that day tho) and I found out that I lost 3 lbs from that day alone. I was wiped out on the way back; didn't even realize how tired I was until then. Â If there aren't theme parks nearby, festivals or something else fun that includes a lot walking are just as great. The fun experience completely takes your mind off the fact that you're exercising, which grows boring easier when you know you're doing it IMO. Â {I wouldn't completely recommend the FULL day doing this as that could be(and WAS lol) extremely tiring, but devoting part or even most of the daytime for this is a fun way to work out without even realizing it} Â That sucks that the gym doesn't offer classes. Is there an option to cancel the gym membership so you can take the other class separate from the gym? If you really do enjoy the jazzercise, I would stick with that. Â I'm starting kickboxing soon; never have done it, but I've heard it's pretty fun and can help you vent out some steam. Maybe that's another choice... Â E and I go for a short hike once a weekend, or we try to depending on our schedules and weather. He's way more tolerant of exercising than I am, so he pushes me a little when I start wanting to quit, which I appreciate. Maybe that could be made into a date in someway with your FI and perhaps even add a healthy picnic when you get to the end of the hike. Just an idea. Â I, also, think Boot Camp is still a option. I used to think I could never really do something like that and didn't even know much about it, but after hearing about it from a few people including Teira1031, I'm gained interest. I even just found out yesterday that a close friend of mine just signed up, and I'm thinking about signing up with her. I know it's probably not the right thing for everyone, but I'd say it's worth a shot and a look into. Â Best of luck and hope this helped =] Â Â
