  2. How about you let the bridesmaids and best men start walking at the beginning and middle of the song? Let there be a gap with each couple for timing. Then when you know the song will be ending, you begin to walk? I'm doing that, actually. I'm playing Bach - Pachelbel's Canon in D. However, it's not only 6:00 minutes long, but I also don't want to walk down until the upbeat part near the end w/out sacrificing the build up of the song. So, I'm timing it, I even have the seconds down pat now lol At the beginning, the bridemaids w/ the groomsmen start walking, two at a time. A cute idea I decided to do to pass the time was... the groomsmen and bridesmaid stop in the middle of the aisle, the groomsman then gets down on one knee facing the bridesmaid and offers her a rose. The bridesmaid smiles and accepts it, then the groomsman stands, takes her arm and leads her the rest of the way. The next two, then repeat it and so on. By the time it gets to the part I want to walk down, the flower girl goes, then I follow with my dad. And an idea I got from the forum...I will have two detachable roses in my bouquet...if there's still time to pass(so the song ends well) when I reach the end of the aisle, I will stop and give a rose and a kiss to my mother and the same to MIL. Then start the ceremony. If I don't have time, then the rose and kiss exchange will be after we're pronounced man and wife. That's just an idea...Like you, I was worried about the song ending too abruptly and probably awkward. I think in tradition, you just stay out of sight...is there anywhere you could hide until you walk down? I know with an open gazebo that would make it harder.
  3. I know! Doesn't matter how bad a day I have, I always feel obligated to answer positively when people ask how my day is. Some people even see it as completely rude when you answer honestly(yet respectfully, of course, not snappish)
  4. Good question! I'd like to know the answer as well for future reference. That veil is very lovely.
  5. Thanks! I might just do that... now to go shoe shopping! lol
  6. I think wearing fuschia shoes would be cute and fun, esp. when that's one of you're wedding colors. I haven't bought my shoes yet, but I'm kind of on the same boat. My dress will be white, and my main wedding colors are white, silver, and darker red. I'm trying to decide whether to get silver shoes or switch it up with red heels. Still not sure though either.
  7. No, they fit in the palm of your hand and aren't heavy at all
  8. Wow...everything looks great! It's soo detailed and well planned.
  9. I was wondering what everyone has planned for the guests before the wedding...like group activities or fun get togethers. So, please post your plans or if you're already married, then what did you do during your wedding week? So far we have one day fully planned out as far as activities go. We're anticipating the possibility of jet lag with a lot of the guests so our welcome dinner will be delayed a couple nights after they arrive. A day or so after our welcome dinner, we have the full day planned out: The day starts out with a hop-on/off bus day tour of Rome for all the guests. Lunch will be provided. Then later after the tour, the guests be treated to a dinner cruise to see Rome by night. We're thinking of separating these two into two different days though. Of course, closer to the wedding, there will be the usual with a rehearsal dinner and bachelor/bachelorette parties too. But we'll be in Rome for about a week and a half, so there are still plenty of days without things planned yet. We're not planning something for everyday because we wanted the guests to have days for their own vacation and be able to spend it how they wanted to. However, we also wanted to add a couple/few more activities or something into the stay, to prevent boredom and just for everyone to have fun together. Any ideas/suggestions? Just as an FYI...Any activities will be paid for by us, anything not planned by us or not to do with the wedding, the guests pay for themselves. Everyone's hotel location will, also, not be an issue, as FI and I are renting a floor or two in a hotel and providing the guests' accomodation. So, no one will be staying in separate hotels to arise transportation issues. I would love to hear what you all have planned and maybe even get some more ideas myself =]
  10. I wouldn't worry about it. Those dresses are beautiful. Besides, they're there for you and it's your wedding. I don't think they would mind wearing a dress you chose. There are also short dresses similar to those photos on the website. Worth a look. Also, I reread and saw that you're planning a formal wedding. So am I! esp. considering it's a DW =] In my opinion, I don't think it's ugly to have a print like that. I think it's pretty and pops out. I know you're having a formal wedding w/ a ballroom reception but what's the location? Is it near the beach or in that kind of area? Either way, I think it's classy enough for a formal event, but also casual enough for other settings. I would go for the second dress's print for a formal though. The first dress's print would be better for the beach setting.
  11. I've definitely seen affordable and similar dresses to those at www[dot]simplydresses[dot]com I'd, also, suggest looking at some Bari Jay dresses too. Hope that helps! =]
  12. I've seen a lot of threads to post your wedding dress, but I haven't seen any with outfits worn for the rehearsal dinner. I've always heard that the dress the bride wears for the rehearsal dinner should stick out among the rest and kind of be a kick start for the wedding events. Anyway, I thought we could all post them here for us to see. Guess I'll start...this is what I plan on wearing at my rehearsal dinner(the white one to keep the bridal look), but I still have a lot of time before the wedding, so who knows?... maybe I'll change my mind.
  13. I think that's an awesome idea and something guests will definitely want to keep and look at. It'll be almost like a keepsake photo album but with a stylish edge. Would you mind if I steal your idea? I really do love it =]
  14. Working: Work? what work? I'm on BDW! from a guilty procrastinator lol

  16. These are the favors we're getting for our guests. They're minature crystal globes, we thought it would fit for a destination wedding. For our own personal touch we're adding a ribbon that says "You mean the world to us"
