The Wyndham is always renovating...but it's a great hotel - my dad and his girlfriend stayed there last week and he enjoyed it...they along with a couple other hotels close for most of August and September because it's Nassau's off season - it's the hurricane season (although they don't really get them them as bad a flordia and most people are not traveling there when it's hot at home - that's why it's the cheapest time to travel there - but since the economy of the island is based mostly on tourism most of them suffer for a while...My FI drives taxi and he says a lot of them work 12/16 hour days to make what they made on a regular day and even sleep in their cars cause fares are scarce...I know that's a lot of extra info but when I told him about your post Mrs Jones he says Bahamas will tell you anything you want to hear so they can make their money - he said he was there a few weeks ago and there was still wires on the ground but that it's a great place for your wedding...I can't wait till he helps me with my brochures... He broke my heart when he told me the little kids selling me bracelets for their education near the dock were just hustling me and make two or three hundred a day hustling tourists - I just knew I was helping that sweet girl out...I'm still excited about moving there

That's a cool idea - have it be the first dance to get people up..plus it will be a suprise if you have them come in as the first dance and parent dances are ending since that's usually slower songs

It's true..they'll notify you of sales but when you order that's when they'll start comming..If you go to the site there are free options under personal and business items (they're different choices) But start with one of those and they'll see your ordering

I'm excited to see your wedding come together..I'm trying to work on STD's, Invites, Newsletters and what not now - a little tricky cause were not sure of the time of year in 2011 {I'm trying to take as many classes as I can to graduate early but we still don't know when i'll be done} Oh Hamme - I loooove that your utilizing your talented family... I'm trying to do that...like FI's step mom makes sauces in the Bahamas so i'm looking for cheap and pretty bottles to get her to fill for favors... I've been collecting info and bookmarking a lot of sites...looking for great sources for all the things I see I like and trying to make decisions on what I really want {I'm going to have to blend ideas} bouncing ideas off of FI {trying to convince him certain things are his idea - like a photobooth} I keep going back and forth on things like Boarding Pass or Passort Invites, or both somehow... real touch bouquets, feather bouquets or parasols...Order that or make it...My goal is to start slowly collecting things for OOT bags and Wedding Party Gifts so it can be less expensive as we get closer and figure out what things cost in the destination so I know how to plan and budget... my FI dosn't see the need for favors and OOT bags and such things but I feel I need that touch so it's better if I buy them over time and I'll have it when were ready I'm glad i'm taking my time and not buying the first thing I see because I find better and cheaper things the more I browse this site! I know the DIY stuff will take a while so I want to get started on that ASAP so I won't be rushed later...I want to make a list of what I need so I can use my Michaels and AC.Moore Coupons wisely and I made sure to sign up for all newsletters (like Vista Print and 123 Print) so I can start getting these coupons {Oh if you have one near you AC Moore has a card so when you spend $100 or $200 they give you $10 back} Overall my goal is to have everything planned and ready so as soon as we know the date I can just excute Happy Planning everyone!

Yay horegan! @MRR16 - I think they're tired of me saying Great job and thanks for sharing but I figure they probably did it in the beginning till they got to know people.... So I was thinking I was super corny for being happy about this but I felt like it was a major accomplishment! I was determined to earn it (for free) and not pay for it I'm happy every one else is working hard too, I don't feel like a lonely newbie

I like it but to make it work I would carry it out...do as much of that pattern as you can even though it's not exact

Mines is tricky because some people are traveling by plane and some cruise and 1/2 of the people already live in Bahamas (which I have to come up with a way to give them oot/getting ready favors minus the things they don't need - I'm thinking of driving by before the wedding so I don't leave anyone out at the actual wedidng... I want to do this as well because I love the look when it's shades of the same color...But I have just two bm (my sisters) and I don't want it to look uncoordinated...I'm thinking of either tan/kahki dresses or shades of coral....Is it tacky if the rest of the ladies in my family (mom, aunt, little cousins) wear coral too even though they won't stand? It's a small wedidng of no more than 50 people
