R You know I heart you! Wonderful idea! I had that picture in my inspiration folder for years! I also like the idea of the sea glass scattered down the table. I thought about sand, but thought big mess around food and I thought about brown sugar (fake sand) but still too messy. The ideas I have are of things I don't think i'll find and transport for a budget. The place we've chosen has different table sizes and types with some cool features. Here is is: (See the candleabra attached to the table?) I just want to add some shells, coral, sea creatures, and sea glass to it. Oh and free and colorful bougainvillea . DW's brings out the good, bad and ugly in people... I know people who are THERE for me no matter what but I know they won't be able to make my DW wedding for one reason or another. But I'm sorry your learning this lesson. If it helps I don't think there's a bride on here that had every single person she wanted to have or thought would come there. And is the paisely pattern on your computer and your printing it? I'm trying to figure out how you got a logo with white on it with the pattern subtracted? And then the "i do" on top, I'm guessing you created the {coordinating} paper/patterns and printed them on shimmer cardstock. And how are you buying shimmer cardstock? I don't see white at the craft store, but I see books of 12x12 shimmer cardstock with the colors I want in them. It's true, they'll put you up at the Sheraton or Whyndam and you can still have your wedding as planned. One hotel is supposed to open this comming weekend, either Breezes or Sandals - I believe they're the only two that close. All the hotels do their renovations during hurricane season, bad storm or not because it's the only time they are not full.

Great idea Beaches, just proceed with caution. I took those razors last time I went to Bahamas because the colors were "soooo cute" I shaved my legs and bikini area and was cursing out those cute cheap razors for two days! I didn't know cheap razors were so bad because I usually get the pretty pastel Bic ones from walmart...Never again!

I finally found keychain bottle openers at a great price and the only problem is the $75 minimum. I've looked through the site and didn't see anything else I need so I'm opening it up to my BDW sisters. The one's I want are the keys and at 2 dz for $6.95 it comes out to .28 cents each. I'll even buy two so that's $13.90. They're are other designs and they even have ones with country flags. What's awesome is I don't have to buy the case of mixed patterns and get one's I don't even like. Type in the country of you dw and see what comes up - they have every country! What's size/shape is your carry on? The reason I say that is depending on what you bring they can charge you like 80% duty, I think if your bringing it back with you it's different but the Bahamians tell me don't even share that much information just tell them your coming for a visit. Let me detail - it might help someone else who hasn't been there. When you get off the plan your going to go for a LONG walk...you'll walk through the new terminal and then the under construction terminal and then the old one. Trust me it's a long walk, I struggled to carry a lot by myself - every time after that I checked my bag. Then you'll go to a room where you'll wait in line for immagration. They'll check your paperwork to know where your going and how long your staying (they'll also collect the paper you got to fill out on the plane). Then you'll go collect your bags and then costoms is right there behind you, usually two people at a podium. They'll want to see your passport (so they know your not a local) and ask you where your going and how long your staying. They might ask are you visiting friends, are you bringing gifts? That's when you say no - just on vacation, here to get married and they should let you though. I think unless your carrying something that looks like packages or gifts you should be fine. You can go get a cab by the door. Also if you decide to send a gift to any vendors know they will be required to pay duty when they pick it up. Hope this helps!

I started with coral pink and aqua but they're hard to match/find..I've opened up to peach and seafoam as well so they colors are close enough...I've been through every paper in Michaels, ACMoore and Walmart and if I find any colors that are close they're solids or there's a $19.99 stack with one or two sheets I could make work. I've also searched ebay. It's fustrating- I'm considering using aqua paper with coral ribbons/embellishments because it will be easier. But it makes me sad when I see everyone elses pretty paisleys and damasks and stripes. I also thought about creating/printing some but I think matching the colors will be a pain. When my mom asked for help planning her dw in Virginia Beach I just KNEW I would be able to come to my fav dw site and get ideas and inspiration. But it dosn't look like it. You ladies have any idea's for favors/oot bags for a November wedding in Virginia Beach? She wanted beach theme but now the wedding has been moved off the beach so were not sure what the theme will be. Or colors - she's between sunset colors (shades of orange, yellow, coral) and teal and brown. We're running out of time because she wanted to get married asap! Thanks for any input!

Hi There R! I just want to chime in and say I'm so proud of how you have thrown your whole self into this wedding and you ended up discovering a hidden talent. I know that your wedding is going to be an amazing experience for both the couple and everyone in attendance! I love that you share templates and inspire so many brides to DIY but I also love that you have decided to keep some things for yourself. I think if you took the time and energy to come up with something amazing you should be able to supplement your income (a la Martha Stewart). And you make me crack up everytime I read where you wrote "coooooordinate" because I hear the voice of the dad from the movie Boomarang - I hope that's the reference you had in mind. All my family and friends called me panicking about my guy and my friends down there and my guy was STRESSING ME OUT worried about us (in virginia) because he knew were not used to big storms...I'm just glad it's all over because between the hurricane, earthquake and the great dismal swap buring for months it's been crazy around here.
