  1. Great thread! I love your dress and I love the bouquets you choose. My favorite thing is the martha place cards! I want those to just have around my house they're so darn pretty!
  2. I love your wedding! Those are some of my favorite colors together! Your jelly bean jars are my favorite thing!!!
  3. It's looking great! I can't wait to see your pictures! I have your bm sandals! I freakin love them, I wore them every day this summer - towards the end I thought they're perfect for bm sandals but by then most of the sizes were gone
  4. @ J and G - it is! The headband shoppe - comes with matching shoe clips! http://www.etsy.com/listing/78771930/baylee-package-1-bridal-or-bridesmaids?ref=sr_gallery_36&ga_search_submit=&ga_search_query=bridal+sash+feather&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmade @ Bondgirl - I SUPER love that jewelry set!!! and I think vintage suitcase would be a perfect prop for destination and vintage!! Maybe as an image on paper for something or a card box. Ooo I found mini suitcases once - they could be like OOT bags!
  5. Oh Lana! I'm pm-ing you! Don't stress (you'll make your condition worse) we'll work it out!
  6. Here's the image: To me this reads vintage beach. I think an awesome rsvp for you could be based on an old sign they had at the beaches. Try one of the free font websites and search for what looks like a vintage, antique font to you. Pair it with a clean, simple font and use images that reflect the beachy look (your palm tree, palm leaves, shells, ect) Then use your colors where you want the highlight, like your names, the location. If you don't do the rhinestone accents on the paper maybe use a ribbon or other embellishment that gives you a glam feel. A charm (I'm using charms because I make jewelry) buttons or brooches with an antique bling can be used as the pull to get the message out of the bottle. Ebay & Etsy are great sources for inexpensive options. @anudrm - Lol...Sorry...when I was helping my mom I realized all I have to do is approach this like I do Interior Design - and it works. You know how everyone creates Inspiration Boards? I had an amazing professor teach me to design with mood boards and concepts and rules. True designing is done from the tip of your head to the bottom of your feet. You wouldn't like that beautiful designer dress if the celebrity had on beat up old sneakers. Same with design, if you choose an image that has the feel you want, then every single decesion you make goes back to the concept of that image. I'm thinking I could get pretty good at wedding planning with my background in design Pm-ing you now!
  7. I love that logo. I would put that on the cover of your program. Use a more vintage/old world font and add crystals to the i's on your name. You can also do that with your name on the program. You can get crystals cheap on ebay. And I saw a message in the bottle invite with palm leaves that would be great for you. I'll look for a picture.
  8. My favorite image is the seashells on the crystal stand. It's gorgeous and unexpected and a perfect contrast of the two. You can balance your ceremony arch like this by using the bamboo structure and either vintage fabrics or lighting in your colors. You can also add beach and glam by having an illusion backdrop with shells and crystals intermixed, you could even add orchids in your colors if the budget allows for it or you don't mind using fake. If so you could make that yourself and bring it along, shouldn't be too costly. A gray or muted tones of pink and orange beachy dress with vintage and colored accents (pearls, feathers, lace, crystal ect) would be beautiful. In this image you see how the vintage outfits pops on the beach? Now please don't send your guys down the ailse looking like T-Birds, remember balance. You could do this as with vintage dresses in orange and pink - this would work best with mismatched dresses (try ebay and etsy) For your bouquet, a tropical orange and pink arrangment of flowers could be tied with lace and you can add vintage brooches to the handle. You could add real or rhinestone shells in there as well. Hope this is making sense. Do you have a logo yet? That should include all your styles.
  9. Ok here you go...Mind you these are images from my file and I'm still trying to get in your head. So tell me what you love and hate and we'll play with it. After looking at these images I think gray would make a great base color because it makes the orange and pink pop and it's lends itself to being more vintage that brown, black and ivory. I love your save the dates and the idea of the message in the bottle. How are you sending them? Did you create the inside portion yet? Maybe using a retro/vintage font and style would mix nicely with the beach. Pearlized shells will aso give you a glam look. Have you seen what futuremrstgun did with her starfish? She used Martha Stewart Glitter paint. That's a great way to add bling to the beach for your invitation and decor! I love the site idea. Not sure what your able to bring or get from there, but I would replace the tiki torches, maybe with chandeliers or lanterns. The way I do Interior Design when I'm doing a contrast of two different styles is a balance of the two in each item or two things together with one of each item. It's difficult to explain with words, but I'll try because it's what I envision would work perfect for you. This is my favorite way to design, it's what I'm doing for my own wedding. What's contemporary right now is to take something old and give it a splash of a bright color to reinvent it. You'll see modern classic furniture, chandeliers and baroque furnishings being painted bright, fun colors like aqua, pink and chartreuse. I did this in a design for a restaurant. I used a tradititional style table with balustrade or turned legs but made it clear acrylic. For the seating I used traditional french provincial frames but the frames were painted aqua and chartreuse and the fabrics were classic patterns in bright colors. You could do this by choosing a vintage style shoe - but in hot pink. You can use the vintage flourishes and scroll frames and script font but put them in bright pink and orange. The other way to do this, and you can use a combination of the two is by mixing closely related items with one of each style. When I did an apartment that was the juxtaposition of Industrial and Traditional it was using a lot of what the client had so I approached it different and it worked. I've seen a some furniture catalogs lately that use this method also so it should look familiar. They had old colonial eyebrow chairs in the dining room that were in great condition. We added a durable fabric and placed them in the kitchen paired with a simple steel table on locking wheels. You can do this by having a vintage, glam dress with beachy accessories or vice versa for you and your girls. There has to be a balance for it to all come together but as long as I have the free time I would love to help you.
  10. Bear with me I'm still working..I fell asleep last night but I'm going to finish it after my congeration meeting tonight!
  11. Don't worry I'm going to try and help you! The hardest thing is getting your vision out of your head. I think to find balance you should stick with the bright colors for the pops, let your std's, invites and maybe programs stand out. (I'm thinking about the program cover though, I'm thinking you can do the bright colors with vintage fonts and images) If your doing OOT bags or Welcome info - bright colors! If you were thinking colored shoes - you can pop in your bright colors. I'm trying to think about bm dress colorss? Did you get anywhere with that yet? If you want to do it in decor or flowers the interior design rule is you must repeat it at least three times for it to coordinate and not be tacky. We'll get to that later. Search for those vintage weddings and save images you like, I'm going to post some and tell me if they stand out to you.
  12. Of course you can have that! First of all it's your wedding - like decorating your house it can be whatever you want. I'm planning a vintage glam beach wedding. Although I havn't used the word glam. My plan is to have a juxtaposition of natural, rustic, beachy elements (linen, wood, shells, bamboo) with beautiful, elegant, vintage details (lace, velvet, crystal, gold leaf, silk) It's basically my personal design style - but I havn't had the budget to make my house look like this but if I get it for the wedding I can decorate my house with it later. I'm going to try and get through my inspiration folders to uploads some pics I saved for you. I started out with the base as shades of white and taupe and accents of coral pink and aqua but I think I'm leaning more towards salmon/peach and mint/seafoam because of seeing images I prefer. I think the venue is perfect for this. To give you suggestions I need to know what is vintage and glam to you?
  13. So pretty. I like the way you glam-ming it up. I think the circle table looks prettier in your mockup but I do like rectangles better. Are you giving lime fans to guys and girls? I love the idea with the limes being painted - it looks very pretty. I love your logo. I wonder how it would look with your names in purple where the location is also I'm glad to hear your excited and enjoying your planning.
  14. I meant what happened with your dress silly! I can see a whole lot was going on! So do you have a work area for on going projects or do you clean it up and put it away. I feel guilty I have an art studio/office but I end up with wedding stuff all over the living room floor because I like it in there better. I love your mugs! Are they the dollar store ones? I got a couple to try but havn't yet. I don't know if I want to make them for 100 people. (That's so lazy but would one per couple be cheap) Is it not a rectangle because it's not tapered? Are you cutting with good scissors? I found if I get a new pair and only cut paper then the cutting goes very smooth. Still with good scissors I know it's a lot of cutting since you have so many projects. I went looking on ebay after I saw yours. I didn't know they were plastic. I thought it said glass color. I didn't see a lot smaller than 50 from factory 21. I plan to contact them for a custom lot because I really only want them for the guys. But that's a good thing about the two ounce. Alot of the glass ones I saw were the bar shot glasses (made to look like a full shot but it's not so the bar saves money) and I don't want them. I havn't looked at m&m's in like a year so obviously they've updated. I'll check it out. Maybe since then they have my colors! I havn't seen a new bridezilla episode in a while so I can use the drama - you can pm me if you'd like. It's so cool how big it is. So can you sit down in it? That fits in the BACK of your closet? Does anyone know anything about your dress or is it a surprise for everyone? You should try WEN. Since I've been using it I don't need a lot of the heat when I go straight (which is part of the reason I refuse to go straight often because I don't like to damage my hair) My guy lives in Bahamas - where the wedding will be. It's a half destination wedding - for my half Originally I was going to do two save the dates and two invites but now I dunno. Part of the reason was because I liked so many ideas and didn't want to pick. Plus I really want box invites and thought it would be tooo expensive to send to everyone. Yes I will support you in etsy. I was looking at listings for flourish shaped tags like yours but I'd so rather buy them from you. If I were you I'd have a less expensive and more expensive option so when customers are searching your store would still come up (if that's not too confusing). I think the better your pictures are the more you can charge. If you loko at R's photos - do you see the way she add's props instead of just showing the paper product. That's what will really sell your products. I've done business consulting and marketing so I can help with listings when the time comes. I will - Or you can just ship me a flate rate box with ton's of stuff to work on and I'll ship it back
  15. Sorry to butt in but I feel like something else is going on... I don't think it's that the dress was too much money...There's either a reason she's having money problems or another reason she can't make the trip or decided not to be a bridesmaid because of your personal relationship. I don't think it's the dress. If she's that valued of a friend you should try to talk to her, if not then wait and see what happens You have been missed! I was wondering what happened. You've got a little factory going on over there! So your making me want shot glasses now. Your m&m's are too cute, where did you get them packaged like that? I've only seen the big bags from the website or did you mix the colors and package them? All of your projects look amazing! Sorry to hear about all your little hiccups but the end result will be so worth it! I'm so excited for you - I'm going to be sad when my favorite brides are done planning - it's too exciting for me to follow! So this dress - Oh My Gah! What's holding it up? Is there a petticoat? I can't wait to see you in it with your hair done and your shoes. I can't wait to see what the reception dress looks like as well. Bridesmaid drama - dare I inquire? Quote: Originally Posted by anudrm Hello Ladies!!! Have I been missed? I know I have because I had some really nice ladies checking in on me outside of the forum. Oh Emm Gee - how can I express how much I love you ladies!!! You guys have helped me make a lot of decisions.... As YWS2012 reminds me, I am 24 days out from my actual wedding, I leave VA for FL in 20 days. We all know what this means? Can you say low key panic mode?!?!? I know, I know we all want pictures, but I am at work right now (because I was home the last 2 days, LOL) but I promise I have lots of pictures. Pictures from my dress fitting (it's PERFECT!!!) - shot glasses - etsy sugar flowers - Sseko Design sandals - Bride & Groom Antique signs that I stole from mochamakes3. Went to Target for my OOT bag toiletries (need to sneak away and buy the other half of stuff because husband doesn't understand why I want one per bag considering everyone is getting their own bags, MEN go figure!) Received my customized M&Ms, ordered my lanyards and 2012mrstobe will be sending me some badge holders. I have done my first aid kits labels also, borrowed from torilynn & customized (because that's what I do) I will upload my template to share (and I am open to personalizing it for anyone if you ask). I have finished all of my programs (10 pages per for 20 programs, I HATE cutting). In the midst of attempting to finish my programs my STOOPID HP printer ran out of ink, so of course I was printing everything 10 at a time for the appropriate color, so entail I wasted 10 sheets of cardstock. Sent HIM to the store for IVORY 110# paper and he comes back with another assortment pack. Like I really need all of that paper. You have no idea how much paper I have it is simply ridiculous. While stalking the MP 2012 Brides forum, I came across Blume Boxes, just ordered 6 of those 4 small cubes and 2 small cones. Centerpiece vases set. Only thing really left is playlist, ceremony script and my personalized stemless wine glasses that I will be making with my Cricut.... Duh duh duh - STOOOPID STOOOPID POMS!!! I am so tired of folding freakin poms, no matter how many I fold I just can't seem to get at the right number, so I will def be doing that tonight also. As you can tell I have late nights and early mornings....if my mind isn't resting, my body isn't either. Still not nervous, still smiling and I think I am ready to drop one of my BMs....if you want to hear the story just ask, I'll spill (LOL) With all that being said, I have actually started packing!!!! I'd like to getter better at ordering online. When I do I get whta I came for, in the store I get distracted and end up carrying stuff to the register I have no business touching! I feel you on the hair thing - I want to straighten it for my mom's wedding (11.25.11) and wear it up in a bun, plus my guy's comming and he's seen it straight for only a few hours so we'll see how long I'll keep it but the VA humidity is something else...I dunno how it is where you are but within the day my curls change three times! You need an etsy store!!! You already got the tools and the talent! And you can use vistaprint to print things! Your shoes make me almost faint! If you really need help I seriously will, not sure how much I can do from here. Why don't you live in Richmond or somewhere thats a 2 hour drive or less?! Maybe I can drive up one sunday when you get your wedding orders and help.
  16. Ok so you now have an online stalker! - ME! I can't wait to follow you and see what great DIY projects you create in the next few weeks! So far SO amazing! Your little girl made me smile with that face! And I also think your beautiful and super photogentic. Your pictures remind me of when they show the america's next top model photo of the week and the judge says so much promise. Can I asked what font did you use for the word Jamaica?
  17. Lol Once I made it I was like "Ok, now what?" Since there's not another milestone I got bored without a challenge. I only read posts for so very long and then I decided that if I'm going to take the time to read it I'm going to take the time to post. I tried to read every planning thread (since they're my favorites) and comment on something I liked. This was hard sometimes and I did end up with really generic posts like love it and beautiful but I hit my 150 that way.
  18. I just love the uniqueness of these! Where did you get chicago screws? I want that font! Not the script one the one the numbers are in - I love the number 5! Can you share what it is please?
  19. It looks great! Go to the website and order a sample kit and a bride sample kit for free. Then you can look at the sizes they print and the quality. By doing so I was able to get inspired to use different size free items for my projects.
  20. Recently? Maybe I should go to the store and stop looking online. Just curious what do you have planned for you $5 budget?
  21. It's actually not an envelope (but I've seen people order glassine envelopes and slip tissues in. I purchased tiny kraft brown bags from michaels - where the gift bags are, I'm at work so I don't have the details but they were the smallest bags available and came in other colors. I think it was $3 for a pack of 30 or something like that. Anyway I bought them for something else and they were on the floor next to the tissues and I thought that might fit - and it did! I planned to get the glassine envelopes and double side tape them to the back of my program (an idea I think I saw from Martha Stewart) The tissues I bought were from 5 below and I thought they were cute because they had a G on them but I'm straying away from bright colors now so I was looking for pretty tissues. I've found some beautiful shell and coral ones searching online but I'll use plain ones before I pay $11 for as pack of 10. Hope this helps - pm me if you want pictures or more details!
  22. They looked shorter but wider, I want to check the size to see if they'll fit in my envelopes for tears of joy
  23. I had my eye on them! The colors look cute on my screen but were having bottles not cans so I was hesitant because they may not fit, but when I place my big order I'm going to add them to hopefully get free shipping
  24. I freakin love the first one - so original and so creative!!
