  1. I'm not sure about the don'ts. I would reccomend you bring food and snacks with you because it's MUCH cheaper. You can find water there for $1 a bottle if you don't want to pay to bring it over but I would for sure brings snacks/candy with me. I bring that stuff all the time so I know it's allowed. I wanted sparklers but I discovered those lanterns, which you can fly with - so I'm changing my mind. I think the only problem you'll run into is paying to bring it along. What else were you thinking of bringing?
  2. So I went to BookIt the other day when you told me - the ticket I paid $428 for was $288 - I went to Orbitz asking for a refund check (btw price assurance is a crock, it has to be the EXACT same ticket for money back - like from the same place at the same time - the chances of two people flying from a small airport in VIrginia to Bahamas are slim ) and the next day it was back up to $870 - Next time I will go to Book It first! I used priceline before too but I think I'm done with Orbitz. I'm nervous about Beach Bum Vacations....I searched them on this site and it was nothing but bad news! I saw nothing but good things on the Knot. I know there's always good and bad but I'm worried. I'm still waiting for her to email me some prices. In the meantime I contacted Carnival today and found the cruise options I wanted and got some pricing. I think I'm just super anxious and this wait is normal but I'm going crazy. My passport STD's are just waiting for some info on their pages. I started cutting the covers today! I'm so ready!!
  3. What were your two options? Wydham and Sheraton? I'm anxious to see what she gives me I finally figured out what I'm doing for STD's after changing my mind and redesigning for a year. I'm in the process of ordering supplies and figuring out which looks best, I'll post soon. I love your STD, especially the picture The metallic blue cardstock for my passport came in today, I was sad because it's not as dark as I'd like for the traditional look, but I don't want to take the time to order samples finding the right ones. I'll just wait for the stamps to come and see how it looks first. I bought the stamps that say passport and the eagle logo from a seller on BDW (so excited about that) and I'm waiting for them to arrive. I'm going to search Book It!! Thanks! Your stationary is pretty - I got a sample of that with the Vista Sample Kit. I like how detailed your RSVP is - I was worried I was doing too much - so I'm happy to see you did too Oh and the guys at the dorr denied most of the people because my mom didn't have the list updated...like her new husbands supervisor and coworkers- denied..our friends who the husband happens to be an ex-nfl player - denied.... I really learned some lessons and no one can tell me not to be ocd about planning and organizing. I know it won't run perfect but I need it to run smoothly.
  4. Really pretty..I love to see the gold on the dark paper. I love your envelope liner - your inspiring me!
  5. I had a skype meeting yesterday and it went well. She was very nice but I felt she wanted me to change my mind about everything! She had good points but I feel she's going to let me have my way which is good. She said the cruise sheip is a bad idea because if the weather is bad they will reroute and I get that but it's not hurricane season. She said she wasn't comfortable with the resorts I selected because she hasn't used them before but was glad i'm going to visit everything one more time in a couple weeks. She didn't like the idea I was giving guests two hotel choices, but I want them to decide if they want a budget hotel or a nicer one. She had other concerns which were all valid but when I make up my mind it's set She told me not to worry about the std's because they send you a pdf one with all the informationa bout the resort, the island, and everything they need to know. Which sucks cause I spent a lot of time pulling this research together but I told her I plan to copy and paste it on to my passport style info booklet. She said they don't do flights if everyone is comming from different places but if guests want to book with her they can - but the prices won't really be cheaper than what they could book online. She promised I would have information by the end of next week so all I can do is wait. Patiently Did you post your stationary on here? I wanna see! No day is perfect! You married your love so it was amazing! My mom got married friday and a few things went wrong (like despite my strong efforts she didn't inform everyone they couldn't park at the hotel and had to park a block down and pay $5 so when they announced cars were being towed most people left and didn't come back- before we got through dinner) and I told everyone if something like that happens on my day I will be pissed and I will not get over it! So I understand how you feel
  6. Good Ideas...I bought makeup bag sets from Dollar Tree for my bags, They have a satin finish and different patterns (zebra, leopard, dots, ect) and there is a large and small one. I also got plastic ones with colored zippers and the smaller bag is the same material as the reusable grocery bags. It's pretty awesome for 2 for a $1.
  7. Thanks - I'm sure your wedding was great (despite the hiccups) and could have only been a teensy better I emailed Stone's Throw again and I also emailed Compass Point today see what their options are. Did you use a travel agent? I was against them till I felt I had too much on my plate and I read really great things about Beach Bum Vacations..I contacted them last week and Monday and I'm getting anxious because they havn't started working on my wedding yet. They keep asking for an interview after I emailed all the necessary information to two ladies. Were supposed to talk on the phone tommorow afternoon so I'm remaining positive it will all work out. I'm antsy because I want to start working on a passport with travel information and if I order from VistaPrint I don't want to pay for rush shipping.
  8. Wow...your an awesome lady for offering such a wealth of information for other brides...I appreciate how organized you are and you have a talent because your wedding looks amazing!
  9. Wow! I'm so impressed! You did a fantastic job pulling it all together and your attire and gift bags are some of my favorrites!
  10. I love your bracelets! Your flower girls baskets are too creative! Your a genius for that! Your wedding was beautiful!
  11. You look amazing in your beautiful bargin dresses...I would have never known! I love your pictures, you and your hubby are a handsome couple! You put together a very nice detailed thread. I looked at your bouquet and thought all those roses must have been expensive! I asked for a pink ring and no diamonds like you...I love your bands - I want that look! Can I asked where he got them, I've been searching for the pink ones - the diamond is easier to find. I also want those JCrew sandals! I'm so glad you posted this thread - your very inspiring.
  12. My aunt said just have a BBQ on the beach at Sandyport and let everyone play in the beach. My guy loved this idea but I was envisioning something a bit more elegant. Your a freakin genius with the party in two places thing! I found out talking to DJ Jose last night that unless we book all the rooms guests will complain about the noise. I'm just waiting on the travel agents to get back to me so I can move forward. I'm getting anxious. I'm sad we didn't get a chance to "internet meet" before your wedding.
  13. Jake - I'm between May 17th and 29th because i'm going off the cruise ship schedules, giving some family the chance to get down there without a passport. May is a busy time of year so I want to have everyone booked by the end of December. I talked to DJ Jose Aheeb last night, who by the way I really like. He reccomended Compass Point - you can get married there even if you don't stay. As well as Cabbage Beach, I didn't know this but for about $400 you can use the condo's electricity and restrooms and get married right there. I don't think we'll change our minds but I'll look again when I get there and I wanted to pass the information along for the other ladies. He also said the Montaque Gardens restaurant is an inexpensive restaurant for a reception and they allow you to bring your own alcohol in. For some reason my guy dosn't like that place but I thought it's a great deal. It's also next door to a club called Waterloo if you want to continue the party. That club isn't my style but I know it's popular for spring breakers.
  14. I would look at the thread that has a master list of oot bag contents. If you look in the cruise wedding sections they suggest things like tolietries, motion sickness bands and air freshers. I think someone mentioned putting money on their accounts for drinks and pool toys for the kids. I'm sure you can get mini bottles of alcohol past security, I know on carnival you can bring two bottles of wine per person, so you can give couples wine before they board. You really should try searching though, there's a lot of threads like this started.
  15. Cable Beach has the hotels but is pretty and Sandyport where Poop Deck is located is further west and less crowded so better in my opinion. They will both eat up time traveling in traffic (because if the new resort under construction you have to pass) Hopefully your ship is in port till the next day and you'll have plenty of time. If it's just ceremony I love cabbage beach on Paradise Island. I don't have pictures at the moment - had a nasty virus get me last night, so I have to get everything off my computer guy's hard drive this week. Also I really love the beach that's across from the caves. It has nice rocks for pictures but will make setting up chairs difficult. There is a pizza place, a liquor store and some other shops across the street and they have a parking lot. The problem with most of the beaches is access because there are no parking lots, you park on the side on the road.If you email the poop deck, from their website. Anna Marie - with Weddings in the Bahamas is also there planner so she will give you insight on locations. She's great- I love her!
  16. Jake where is your wedding going to be?? I'm between two days in May (waiting on quotes from the travel agent since one is a holiday weekend)
  17. I would like to know how to do this please...you used to be able to click the tool icon next to the title but I don't see it anymore
  18. Thanks! Your so sweet to post pictures, they have me so excited I can't wait to see it in a few weeks!! So what's the max you think I can fit there? I'm not sure what area I like best, I think the pool area is prettier. I can imagine pretty floating lights in the pool. But I like the seating on the deck. I love the colors they used. I know for sure ceremony at poop deck, the fee is - $250 and I have to rent chairs and chuppah. I want to have apps and cake for everyone and an intimate dinner later for the family so I think moving the party is fine. I want to find out if I can have a dj set up - and if so which spot is better. So when you stayed you were happy with the service? Thanks so so much for answering my questions!!!
  19. So so cute! I love the ear plugs and the saying - I was trying to figure out how to incorporate ear plugs! I also love the way you personalized the bags!
  20. I'm checking twice a day for your return post or email! I'm glad you emailed me but I'm still going through Selina withdrawals! I forgot to ask what day you get back so I could be waiting for you on your doorstep with a big banner (from vista print of course) and balloons!! We have so much to talk about!!!!
  21. Thanks - if I don't have to give it up completely that would be nice! I'm going to reply to your message soon- it takes me a while so I wait till I have some quality time to devote to it!
