Hi there They do ship to canada via UPS for 18.77$ us i believe and that was for 13 pairs BUT here is the catch!!!! Because the cost is over 20$ canadian you get charged total about another 22$ in customs and brokerage fees. If you order is less than 20$ canadian there are no extra charges is what i was told by ups in the us and ups in canada. My total order was about 26$ for the maracas and about 40$ for the shipping costs which only works out to about 2.50 a maraca which still isn't bad so i am considering it still but i may ship to a friend who is coming in florida for only 10.55$ on top of the 26$ for the maracas. Hope this helps!

  3. I am very interested in the fans(green and blue are my colors) but also live in Canada, my postal is L6V3W5 near toronto ontario. If you are willing to make an exception i can pay via paypal if you are set up. Please don't let another person ruin the opportunities for the rest of us honest canadians I hope you change your mind. Please PM me with your response. I will call you if you prefer that to discuss. Thanks Lisa
  4. I called and Pillar answered and then transfered me to Sandra and Sandra told me my file had been reassigned to her. I think if you asked for her you can get her. Since your wedding isn't until July I can see you being reassigned to her too!

I also just found out that there is a wedding in the same location as me TWO HOURS before my ceremony!! they do have bridemaids bouquets but they are not part of any package and are 65$ a peice and I believe quite small. the two corsages in the package i am using for the grooms mother and my grandmother. Flowers: She said they have a contract with their onsite florist and flowers from other vendors can be delivered or accepted by them but If you want to pick them up or have them deliver them directly to you outside of the resort then you can use them for the wedding.

I was a little nervous at first because I couldnt find many people getting married here. I just got the pricing for additional people, I think I am going to be negotiating that! Couldnt believe that it was over 100$ extra per person! We are only having about 35 people but still thats an extra $1000! There are some great tips on here Thanks ladies! Hi Tamara That pricing is far more excessive then what i am paying. I took the devine package which includes 25 people and I am only paying the addition 25 for dinner at 53$ a head. I didn't take the extra cake per person as desert comes with dinner and there will probably be more than enough cake with the 25ppl included. For the cocktail hour I am only taking the hors d'oeuvres for 25 which is included as most of the guest will be taking pictures and they provide 5pieces per person which should cover the rest, they didn't charge for cocktails during that time. For the champagne toast right after the wedding i was told as long as you are ok with glasses pre filled and served with champagne then it's no cost. It only costs if you want the bottles opened there. i've got Sandra now as a coordinator and i am very happy so far. I called her about the quote and asked her to call me right back and she did and we went through line by line and she answered all my questions. Hope this helps. if you have any other questions feel free to ask. I'm a detail and organizational nazi lol so I will probably have the answer you need. Congrats! Lisa

I've learned to get pretty specific with my questions. I'm going to bring all of our correspondence with me just in case she tries to tell me she didn't agree to something we talked about. I'm not sure about the flowers coming from an external vendor-but I would be curious to find out! We are paying a ton of money for the flowers as it is now. If I could find a florist nearby and have them delivered-I could probably do all the same stuff for half the price. I'll email her about it. She's actually been responding to my emails pretty quickly these days. Hi Tracy Just to let you know the previous wedding coordinator Sandra is back and they have reassigned a bunch of files between the two of them. I have got Sandra now and I had a lengthy conversation with her yesterday and she is great! We went over the package quote in detail so I have some answers for you. Flowers: She said they have a contract with their onsite florist and flowers from other vendors can be delivered or accepted by them but If you want to pick them up or have them deliver them directly to you outside of the resort then you can use them for the wedding. She said that the videographer shows up about 20minutes pre ceremony and starts filming the arrival of people, does the ceremony for about 30 minutes and a bit more just after the ceremony so about an hour of filming and then they edit a 30minute dvd for you. She said I would get total three hours for not taking the photographer from the resort. She also said you can split up the time so if you want the cermony, not the cocktail hour or dinner but you want the dance they can ask them to wait. Photographer: I think i am bringing my own and she never mentioned any charge for that. i thought she would charge my the day fee of 65$ but i told her i only wanted him there for 4hours that day and then the next day about an hour on the beach and then the rest off the resort in a cenote and she said fine. Gazebo Decor: She told me it includes the white fabric drapping and garland for the posts to hold the fabric. I also understood 4 individual flowers on each post but maybe some translation issues there not sure! They only have red and white carpet runners for free. She is going to source cost for blue and green fabric for the drapping of the gazebo for me as well but i am sure i could probably bring it for cheaper. Hope this helps! Lisa

Chair Bows - to get through the hotel she quoted me $5 each. If you bring your own-you will still be charged a $1 per bow "ironing" fee Bridesmaid Bouquet - the devine package does not come with bouquets-just corsages. I'm actually keeping the corsages and giving them to each mom-and I went ahead and ordered bouquets. I believe she charged me $69. They are not big at all. If you have that big packet of information with all the different options-the closest thing to them is the "Your Moments" bouquet section-only they will be smaller than that. Free Stuff - She's not too quick to just give stuff away-but I did notice that she is not charging me for the extra 25 guests at the cocktail reception-just for the hor deorves. (I have 50 guests coming-but only 25 are included in the devine package). I assume it's because the bar will already be open-so the number of guests doesn't really matter-but the food is something that will have to be ordered for a specific number of people. Substitutions - I was able to swap out the photographer for the caribbean trio with no problem-but I have read on here and gotten an email about one of you trying to swap the photographer for the videographer with no luck. I don't know why she wouldn't allow this-especially since I assume they use the same vendor for photography and videos. I would just keep pushing the request with her. Ask her specifically why it has been denied. She has been fairly open to my requests for swaps-and has also been open to suggestions about flowers (all while trying to stay within the same devine package price). Let me know if you guys have any other questions. Thanks Tracy for your comments. She did agree to swap the photographer for 2 hours of videography but the email was kind of confusing. What did she tell you was included in the divine package videography? She told me just the ceremony so about 30 minutes of video. i am assuming that i will get another 2hours on top of that so 2.5hours but wasn't sure by the email. I will have to talk to her. FYI Sandra is back also. Both ladies keep sending me wrong quotes and it's a little frustrating but i guess we have to be patient. Do you know if they will allow you to purchase your own flowers from an external vendor and have them delivered to the hotel? She didn't charge for the cocktail drink hour for me either but i was told they don't anyway. So much for thinking we got a deal from them lol I tried to get them to throw in the sound equipement free of charge but that hasn't worked yet either. Still trying though!!
  9. thanks sooo much for posting this. I just emailed them to see if they ship to canada and what the cost would be. At those prices it still may be worth it.
  10. Hi Amie That's great. Congrats! I am still working out the details with Pillar. How many people are you having at the wedding? Did they give you any special deals on the food or the cocktail/hors d'oeuvre hour?Do you think they would swap the photographer for longer videography? Did they throw in anything at all for free and if so what items. I am going with the Divine package also but like the eternity food better. What did they charge you for downgrade the food? Also it states in this package you get corsages for the maid of honor and bridesmaid but did you find out anything about a bridesmaid bouquet and what they look like? Any help or advice would be appreciated as i am right in the middle of the quote process. Thanks again and I hope you post lots of pics after the wedding?
  11. Are the card holders waterproof? and what would be shipping to canada postal l6v3w5? thanks
  12. Hi There I am searching for maracas and was wondering where you purchased yours? Please share! Thanks
  13. I agree the maracas are a great idea and it is a great way for the guests to have the bride and groom kiss. I have seen only posted website for them. Anyone know of a supplier in canada?
  14. Hi I am interested in the lanyards. how much would it be to ship to toronto canada l6v3w5? Thanks

  16. Thanks so much for the pictures! i might change to the now blue room lol, that's one of my colors anyway! i just spoke with Pillar tonight and asked about trading the cocktail hour and hors d'oeuvre hour which would be 30 per person over 25ppl and using that 30$ towards 25ppl at dinner so paying about 25-30 per person for the divine dinner. She said no at first but then when i sorta pushed she said she would speak with management. It seems like this is a common question. She at first suggested we not pay for more than the 25 that is included in the package and that people could still order drinks cause the blue beach bar is reserved for that hour anyway but you may run out of hors d'oeuvres. Really most of your party and family will be taking pics of you anyway at that time so if she doesn't allow me to get a discount on dinner then i may go with that suggestion. I will let you know the results!
  17. I may be interested in all 60. are the starfish included? How much is shipping to either L6V 3W5 in brampton ontario canada or 33755 in clearwater florida? Please pm me as I am new and not sure why there is a reply to a message...thanks lisa
  18. I am interested in: • Blue stones (large freezer bag full) - $5.00 • Assorted star fishes (natural color and blue). Size of dimes, size of quarters - $5.00 for all but the blue only, i noticed another bride wants the ivory for 2.50$ i'll take the other half for the same price if that's ok Where did you get the starfish ribbon? i like it but i think it's brown and i would like to find it in white, blue or green. I may also want some tealight holders but need to think about how many i really need before committing to that one. I am heading up to Sudbury from Toronto on Friday and would be able to pick up then, please pm me your details so we can chat. thanks Lisa

I'm so happy to have more brides join this board so we can plan together!! I was beginning to feel lonely! I'm bummed I also have to wait a year. As far as the menu for dinner goes I haven't picked one yet. I was hoping since we are going to have at least 55 coming that we might be able to do a buffet. We are so simple that it would be great for us and some of our guests are kinda picky! More meat and potatoes people if you know what I mean!!! Future MrsHolt I was told by Pillar that only a group of more than 50 can have buffet so you should be fine to go with that option. I chose the pergola for the wedding, blue beach bar for the cocktails and so far the pergola for dinner also. i never really got a good picture of the yellow room. It was very blurry and dark and i couldn't see outside. Could you send me a pic of the yellow room. I am getting married April 26th so i will be able to give you some feedback after my wedding that will hopefully help with the last minute planning. I'll be sure to take alot of pics. Does anyone know the name of the photographer that the resort is using?
  20. Just sent him an email to try and book him for April 2011. After reading all these great reviews and seeing so many of his beautiful pictures i just couldn't resist!
  21. Hi Ladies i am also doing a starfish themed wedding in the maya riviera april 2011 and i have found this site to be so helpful and addictive lol Someone above mentioned starfish bouquet jewelry and i have found a better deal on ebay for 6 of them(23.38us) rather than 2 for 20$. Happy shopping! 6 Swarovski Crystal Rhinestone Starfish Bouquet Jewelry on eBay.ca (item 220588776158 end time 12-Jul-10 00:28:40 EDT) Hope this link works as i am still on newbie on this site.
  22. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome wishes!!!
  23. Hi Ladies Not sure if i am posting this right as it is my first post. I am getting married at the now jade resort in the mayan april 26th 2011 and i am very excited as it looks beautiful. I have heard some mixed reviews and from personal experience it is hit or miss with Pillar with her response time. The packages there are for a maximum of 25 people and we will have about 50 to 60. What pricing has anyone else got for additional dinner? They say 48 per person for eternity and 53 per person for divine package. Has anyone had experience in swapping options in the packages? Any florist recommendations for the area as they want to charge 500$ for a pergola flower centerpiece which i think is way too expensive. Has anyone shipped items to the resort from canada and if so what were the shipping costs. I am thinking of going with a starfish theme and could use and appreciate any help! Thanks Lisa
