Oh Ok so a card box would be the same thing. Not sure how it works down there but I guess you would have to have something that locks for guests that do bring cards and money. I would have your wedding coordinator put it out before everyone enters the reception room or even maybe at the ceremony as some people will bring it with them at that time and want to get rid of it. Maybe put mom or dad in charge of collecting the box and keeping an eye on it unless you have a teenage relative that could do that for you also.

I am going to see if I can use the dj's ipod system for the cocktail hour and if not, my dad always travels with his bose ipod docking station and the speakers rock! I was going with my own music initially at the reception for dinner then the dj for two hours but then dad offered to pay so i took all four hours lol

I am using the ipod for the ceremony and the cocktail hour but using a dj for the reception. Didn't want to have to worry about making sure the music played all night with no hiccups or having to change it if the guest weren't dancing. I didn't want any dead air hence the DJ! This helped save me costs as I didn't get any soloist or pianist or anything like that for the ceremony and no mariachi or trio(which cost and arm and a leg at our resort btw). To have a little control over the reception music I am preparing a list of songs to play and the dj can wing it from there!

Thanks Michelle great tip, I will try that! I am no help with the date thing because I was a bit crazy and didn't send save the dates, just sent a combo invite for mexico and ahr on the same invite and asked them to reply by sept 15th which was two months after I sent the invites because the group rate was only held for two months from when I booked it plus i pretty much knew who would come and who wouldn't. Not alot of my friends could come cause they are teachers and the date I chose was not march break so most are family and dad's friends lol but they are a great gang to party with so it should be fun! So far we have 123 confirmed replies to the AHR in July which is way more than I expected and those who haven't replied I think are coming too so I am figuring about 140 there mind you most of those coming down south want to come to the AHR also cause they are family!

I think that may be it, there may be a few straglers closer to the date though so I am just buying everything for 50 and hope that works!

I hear ya sister! Same problem here, I want low heels so I am not taller than FI but they suck!

Hey Michelle I kind off mixed a bunch of things from different scripts that I saw online to create what I thought sounded ok. I actually took most of it from this website for wedding in Niagara Falls lol I think the barefoot jewlery sandals are quite cute and would look great in pics. You could get some that match your wedding colors. I am not doing the beach thing so I have some flexibility but can't seem to find shoes anyway! Uhhh I am just too picky and can't find the exact color and height I want.

I've always wanted to go to Europe and last year was my first time! I went to Italy and loved it. Greece was somewhere i have always wanted to go to and i figured it's now or never cause just like you said we are going to start having babies right away so this would be the last chance for a long time! I have also never been to Jamaica so that might be my next all inclusive! Europe is beautiful and you will have a blast especially if you go as a group! FI is portuguese and his parents have a condo over there so that might be a good family vacation in the future with a little sneak away from the in laws to spain!

Just realized we have the most active thread on this forum lol Ok girls I think I am switching wedding planning mode to honeymoon planning mode. Have any of you ever been to Greece. We arrive back from mexico on April 30th and then we are home for 3weeks and then we are going to leave for greece on may 22nd i think for two weeks which means we come back on June 6th ( i will be there for my birthday June 3rd yay) and then back home for 3weeks and then the AHR on July 2nd! Oh boy that is going to be a busy 3 months for me. Planning on visiting Crete, Santorini, Mykonos and Athens. Anyone have any hotel suggestions?

Because we are arriving there the day before easter we are having our welcome dinner on easter night, the rehearsal dinner the night after and the wedding the night after that. We are doing both at the buffet in a reserved section for 50people. It just wasn't in my budget to do the 22per person plus plus plus for a dinner in the restaurants.

Oh that sucks Meg! When is your wedding again? Sasha Gluck looks good but I sent an email, he responded with the pricing and then I sent two more emails after that and never heard back so I can really rave about him but the pictures look nice. Did you ask Ivan for any recommendation cause I know he has some photographer friends?

Well I have seen your dress and your flower and I think a nice bracelet with either bling and peals or just pearls would be nice and maybe some subtle earrings. You can get clip ons rather than getting your ears pierced. I understand not wearing the necklace though, that might be too much!
