Welcome back Erin! Glad to hear all went well! Can't wait to see some pics! We also tipped. We brought pilar some gifts, maple syrup, design magazines, spa stuff and also gave her $140. We also tipped all the wait staff a total of $150 plus guests were tipping with the private bar. We gave the DJ $30 and the videographer $50. We had the private bar, just because I wanted to make sure no one had to wait and we had 50 people there and our drinks were always full and the service was great! At some points i had two drinks in hand as they kept bringing me fresh ones and remembered what my husband and I were drinking at all times. I have no idea what cake we ended up with but the guests liked it! To be honest, we taste tested 4 the day we arrived and I didn't like any of them. We had an amazing cake in our room one night and asked for that one but the chef who made it had quit before the reception so they just brought out a three layer cake and we went with it. I loved our cake toppers so much that I didn't even notice the cake but it did have the orchids i requested on it which looked nice.

For our AHR we are doing the 8inch round cake to cut with tiered cupcakes in our colors and buttercreme icing on the vanilla and chocolate cupcakes and creme cheese icing on the red velvet ones. The cake will have buttercream icing also! Need a favor ladies. Another bride I know is looking for the waterproof pouches for her keycard/tip holders for the lanyards and I got mine off a bride here and don't remember where everyone got theirs. I bought the maracas at Amols in Texas and they were great to deal with! Had them shipped to my grandmother in Florida and she brought them down. I used them as our kissing thing and a favor for the guests. Back went substitutions were allowed, I got two extra hours of videographer as I had my own photographer and then I just paid him for another extra hour cash and cash for the highlight video.

Grey's your pics are gorgeous. Congrats! I was very happy with the extensions. The hair guy at my resort put them in and then curled everything together so they flowed a little better.I also wore them for my TTD but shortly after being in the water, the weight of them was too much and I had to take them out! Oh well I still can't wait to see those pics. It sucks having to wait till mid June to get them from Mexico. As for changing resorts, I can't really make much of a comment as we stayed only one week during the same time all 46 of our guests were there also as we have planned our honeymoon in Greece in 16 days YAY!!!! Anyway, if they are staying the whole time with you then I might consider changing resorts to a more expensive one. The packing will be a bit of a pain but in the end you will get to experience two locations and many different restaurants while in the same part of the country. On the other hand if it is a large resort just upgrade and don't answer your phone lol and then have a romantic dinner on your balcony to escape the crowds. Just a thought!

Meggers, Those pics are hilarious. I LOVE it. I also kinda had my bachelorette at Cogo Bongo's but Dad and FI had to join all the ladies. It was fun though. The shows they put on there are amazing and we got some good pics and videos of them and the night. No sash for me though! Love the tutu! Laura I am sure with all those videos you can put together a really great keepsake. I am going to try and also do a slideshow for my AHR if I don't get the professional one in time. I would love it if we could all finally meet! Hopefully the dates, times and distance all work out and even if we don't join that get together, let's make one of our own!

We did have a private bar and I couldn't tell you if it was necessary or not but I can tell you that the bartenders and waiters kept finding me and FI and giving us fresh drinks constantly so the service was amazing! I had a meeting with the DJ Ivan Gomez and gave him a breakdown of songs, names and timelines for entrances, first dance, parent dances, garter toss and bouquet toss but my uncle was the MC so he did all the announcing.

Meggers I am so happy things are working out for you. that's great news about both AHR's!!! The videographer we went with was Oscarvideo. We got married on Tuesday and he was back to meet with us on Friday to give us the full video and the highlight video. I am so glad I paid the extra $150 to get the highlight because it is a perfect keepsake and everyone doesnt have to watch two hours of footage to get the spirit of the occassion. My guests loved everything and were blown away. We all had such an amazing time! It was worth all the planning in the end but goes by soooo fast! Sherri, WHAT are you talking about girl, those pictures are beautiful. You guys look so happy and you look so beautiful in your dress! Brandy, eventhough you didn't go in the water, what a great TTD session, so pretty lady!

The wedding package includes flowers but I needed more and wanted orchids and lilies which costed ALOT(like double)through the resort so I used Juliana and everything went great. We had our first meeting the first day I arrived and she delivered all the flowers on the day of the wedding around 11:30. The resort had three vases with lilies for me and the pergola post flowers. Everything else was done by Juliana. She is a really nice lady but busy so a little slow at responding sometimes but she came through and I loved the flowers. I bought my shoes at aldo and bought two starfish brooches at a kiosk in a mall here in Toronto to bling them up a bit and go with my theme.

Hey there I got the flowers through Juliana at Paraiso Floreria from Cancun(mentioned in this thread earlier) and they were real flowers. She did my bouquet, MOH bouquet, all boutonieres, two wrist corsages, the chair flowers and the single lilies in the centerpieces. Angel from the spa at the resort did my hair and makeup and let me tell you it was so windy and hot and it held up pretty well considering but had a messy look by the end of the night lol I brought my own extensions that my hairdresser made for me. It was such a busy week that I am now counting down the days to our honeymoon in greece in 17 days yay! Lisa
