You can actually apply for a VIP card after you get back home; that is what we did. I emailed them and got an application form, scanned it and sent it back. I got my VIP number right away and I got the card in the mail a little while later. My mom and sister have done the same now so we all have the card before we go down next month. If anyone wants the email address I can look it up.

We get there on Sunday the 27th. I think that we are going to go with the Brazilian because it will give everyone the most selection to chose from.

Melaina - I wish that was true. Our date is March 2 and they still haven't emailed me the form to fill out. I emailed them to get it, but I still haven't heard back, except for the email about the coordinator switch. Hopefully I will hear soon.

We are getting married March 2, 2011 so it is coming up really soon. We have 24 people coming; some staying for 1 week and some for 2 weeks. I think everything will be a lot smoother when you are there dealing with the coordinator one on one instead of by email.

Hi Donna. I think the only time that you have to translate your documents is if you have been married before. As long as you name is the same on your birth certificate and you passport you should be fine. As far as I know Tania left and Blanca took over and left and now there is another new person, Araceli. One of the other girls on here was going there this week so she should have some better answers for us. I have stayed at this hotel before and it was wonderful. Don't worry about the reviews too much; people are alway going to report more bad experiences then good ones. We know people that were there recently and they had a wonderful time. I am sure it will be great.

Gee I never even got a form to fill out, just the catalog to pick from. I don't know what version of the catalog I have. ChristeG - did you buy your wedding package from the hotel or with your airline?

Haha you are correct about that! I wonder if she will send an email introducing herself like Blanca did. Talk about frustrating!

The last email that I got from Blanca was Jan 12 and she didn't mention that she wasn't going to be the coordinator. We I guess this is why I save all the emails for all the stuff we have agreed on before.

Melaina the price for the restaurant for the whole restaurant or to extend the reception to 4 hours? We are thinking of doing the same thing but I haven't contacted her for a price yet. Just so you know your witnesses that sign the marriage certificate only have to have their passorts. I think that we will have to have passports and birth certificates. I am going to bring a photocopy of my birht certificate as well in case they need a copy. I couldn't get a straight answer out of Blanca if the copies had to be certified. I sure hope everything works out when we are there because it is sure frustrating doing everything here!

I really haven't got much information from Blanca. We just got the powerpoint to chose flowers and a menu, so we really haven't made it past that in the planning. I emailed her last week with a list of questions and I still haven't heard back. When you pre-choose the menu, do the meals all have to be the same or can you have different main courses? Hopefully I will hear back soon.

@Melaina: for the restaurant, does everyone have to get the same meal or does everyone get to pick off the menu? I have emailed the hotel, but I am still waiting to hear back. I would like to send out a email about what to bring/expect and I would like to add the menu options if I can. What restaurant did you decide to go with?
