  1. Do you all think it's common sense for guest to not sit in the first row as they are taking their seats? Is Pilar or Deisy there to direct our guest? I am not making or bringing down any 'reserved' signs and I'm just hoping people don't sit where the grooms parents and brides parents sit. Also, neither of us are having grandmothers or anything like that so how would this work? Would our parents sit in a row by themselves? Would that be awkward? I know his parents will be on his side and mine on mine, but just 2 of them in a row of like 5? Is that weird?
  2. I don't know from experience yet, but I hear that they don't let you swap anything out. They do sometimes let you swap out if its something in the same category. For example, she's allowing a lot of us to swap the live music included in the divine package for 2 hours of DJ time. It's doubtful that she'll let you swap the photography for the DJ. I asked her if we can swap out the airport transfer for anything since we won't be needing it as we are traveling with other people and would like to ride with them. She said no... I think it's kind of like a use it or lose it type deal.
  3. Our wedding isn't until June, but I've made a very detailed budget spreadsheet. We are expecting 65 guest and right now, this is just my estimate, including tax.... For the Divine Package, with all the add-ons, such as centerpieces through the resort, a DJ, extra food for reception, an hour extension for reception, extra photography time, I am estimating $9,500. Again, this is only my estimate. It def could be more or less once we actually get to the resort & talk to Pilar. Who knows what it will really be! It's more than we expected but still cheaper than a wedding at home...destination weddings aren't as cheap as people think! All the extra prices for everything are ridiculous! But I've come to terms with it, & I'm tired of complaining about it! Lol, I guess it is what it is :-) I'll be happy to share what our actually price is when we return... Oh, and the price above does not include our travel for a week. Travel was about $1,400 per person.

  11. I noticed!! When I don't need a groupon they are everywhere and when I am waiting on one, they are non-existent!!
  12. We are flying in on the 12th and leaving the 19th. I wanted to get there as close to the wedding date as possible b/c I know I won't be able to relax before the big day! My relaxation time will start the day after the wedding is over! Right now we are at 62 guest! And I'm really hoping THATS IT! Wayyyyyy more than I ever expected. I'm very over-whelmed. We invited everyone we would invite to a local wedding thinking people wouldn't come....WRONG!! Boy were we wrong! I thought maybe 40-50 max. Whew, the cost are really adding up but oh well. Nothing we can do now :-) People on my FI's side that I have never even heard of are coming. I'm just coming to terms with the fact that my idea for a small/intimate wedding isn't happening! My poor dad--when I mentioned a destination wedding he thought we'd have about 10-15 guest... lol...I'm honored that all these people are coming but I just didn't expect it. But I suppose it's better than a 200+ guest wedding locally! I'll take 60 over 200 any day! Good song choices! I'm sure everything will come together for you! Go ahead & download the songs on your iPod and then hopefully you won't change your mind once they are on there! What time is your wedding? Pilar said she'd block off a section of the lobby bar for cocktails the evening before.... That was before our count of 60 guest... Anyone know if this area will be big enough for us??? PLEASE SAY YES ;-)
  13. My boss lives in Highland Creek! I love that neighborhood. We ended up crossing the border to SC. It's about 5 minutes behind Carolina Place just across the border. It's a new construction & we just had our final walk-thru this morning! So exciting!

  15. Thanks! I have it on my brochure as "Please arrive at the Pergola no later than 4:45." Should I change that to "Please meet in the lobby?" What would you do? I'm sure even if I say Pergola, people will figure it out! I see you are getting married June 13th! A day before me! I'll look out for you!   16. Does anyone know what time guest start to arrive at the ceremony location? I am making a brochure and I would like to put it in there. Our ceremony is at 5pm and I am asking guest to arrive no later than 4:45, do you think that's okay?

For Ceremony music I'm doing 4 songs while guest are seated and waiting for it to start (not sure if 4 is too many but oh well!) 1 song for our mothers, his father and our Bestman and Maid of Honor (small wedding party). And 1 song for my entrance. We will then have 1 recessional song after we are pronounced Husband and Wife! We will be bringing our iPod with instructions on when to play each song.
  18. I see that you made your brochures via Vistaprint, but is your design one you upload yourself or was it an option on vistaprint? I haven't seen that one and I really like it!
  19. Yay! I had my first alterations appointment on Sunday and everything went well! Good luck! :-) That's not being a cheap-o at all! I actually think that's a pretty common thing! I would definitely do that but I only have 1 maid of honor and about 8 tables so that won't work for me. If I could, I would! I say go for it :-)
