  1. Thank You for asking Megan! It went amazing! It was everything I could have hoped for. We had it at a cute little tea house in Fort Mill called Savannah's. I have the best friends, mother and sister :-) All of my family besides my mom and sister live in NY so I really did miss having aunts, cousins, grandmas, etc there but oh well! That's one drawback about living so far away from family ;(
  2. 2 weeks away already! Wow. time flys! I hope you have an amazing day! I would plan on bringing them down yourself. I'm not sure if they do it but I've realized nothing is free! Haha! I did read somewhere that they can print menus for a cost but I'm not sure about place cards or programs. I'll be making my own to bring!

  4. Thank You Alexis! That's what I was leaning towards! Decision made! They will be placed at each place setting. :-) And your wedding is in like 20 days!!! Best of luck, I hope it everything you want!
  5. I'll definitely write a review when we get back. I don't know what I would have done without this website! Yes, definitely check out Wedding Wire. It's very user friendly! The cost per extra person over 25 people is ridiculous, it honestly makes me sick. I don't know why they don't have a higher package that includes more people. But I keep telling myself it is what it is and there is nothing we can do about it! A destination wedding CAN be cheap but only if you don't have a lot of guest. I think I mentioned this earlier but I really think the cost should go down when you have soooo many guest attending! We are bringing 60+ guest to the resort for a week for our wedding, I feel like we should be rewarded for that, not penalized!! LOL! I can't believe how many people you have booked so early. We didn't get our first booking until 6 months prior to our wedding (January)! We have a small wedding party, only my sister as Maid of Honor and my fiance has both his best friends for his Best Man. My main color is the color of my sisters dress which is Fuchsia, actually, I think it's more of a hot pink, the tag says fuchsia but I've realized during this process that there are a lot of variations of the color Fuchsia! But anyway it's more of a hot pink. So, our color is fuchsia (hot pink) with white accents. Fiance and best men are wearing gray suits with white button down shirts. Fiance will have a tie, but not the best men.
  6. I am getting very excited! I can't believe it's almost here! I made a basic seating chart using Wedding Wire just so I know which guest will be at which table number so I can make the escort cards and it's mostly complete. I'm just waiting on our exact head count to finish it completely. I'll also bring Pilar a list of how many of each entree at each table number. Our reception is in Castaways and I have no idea how the room set up so I just made a basic seating chart to give to Pilar and she can just put the tables where ever. I do plan on having a guest book table and a table for our escort cards. I haven't had much contact with Pilar in this past year so I'll just figure all that out when we get down there. I'm pretty relaxed about the whole thing. Everyone's reviews say they are awesome pulling it all together once you get down there so that's what I'm hoping! Our ceremony is at the Pergola and Cocktails at the Mix Bar. Right now we have about 60 people booked and expecting 7-10 more to book within the next few weeks... I'm hoping that will be it! We are already wayyy over what we originally expected!
  7. I think the cost is the same per extra person for the buffet--but just so you know, not all 80 people have to have the same meal. We give our guest 2 meal options in the rsvp card. Some brides did 3 but we just offered 2. Everyone will have the same first & second course and whichever entree they chose. We offered the beef fillet & shrimp and Mahi Mahi & Scallops.
  8. Eeekkkk! Now they are renting fans for Castaways?! Why did I not see this before? Leads me to believe it gets pretty HOT in there. Great!! :-( Crap!
  9. This is the same one I have. So centerpieces are $65, $85 & $185
  10. According to my PDF, the premium ones are $185. Still not sure where $350 is coming from...
  11. Hey annetta- Just wanted to let u know the centerpieces through the resort range from $65-$185. I'm not sure where the price of $350 came from.
  12. I'm kind of surprised at these prices. Centerpieces at the resort start at $65 for the tropical ones and go to $85 for the Divine. Someone said they are $350 for centerpieces which I believe is incorrect.
  13. Thank You sooo much! Take away! I'm glad I could help. I don't think I'll have a problem.. I HOPE I don't! I've seen brides take a ton more than what I'm taking so I'm pretty sure we'll be fine! I think each person is allowed $300 worth of things. I'm bringing all my receipts just in case! We should only have 1 suitcase full of welcome bags and wedding decor. As far as decor, we are only bringing chair bows and possibly table runners... Oh, and some picture frames, programs, fans, bubbles and menus! Hoping that'll all fit in one large suitcase!
  14. We have a small wedding party. Just a maid of honor and best man, actually 2 best men, FI couldn't decide between his 2 best friends. I'm sure you can do a head table of 12. We are having just a sweetheart table. I want our wedding party to sit with their significant others. I've never been a fan of head tables, especially when my FI was in a wedding and I knew nobody there.
  15. We are having the sound system for the ceremony & bringing our iPod with our chosen songs and a list of when to play each. I believe there is a technician to play the iPod. No, our budget didn't allow an outside photographer. We are upgrading our photos within our package though, using the resort, photographer & yes, that is including about 8 centerpieces through the resort.
  16. Unfortunately, I don't think they will negotiate things just for a larger group.. We have 68 and so far, no luck. I honestly believe that the more guest you have, the less money it should be!! We are bringing the resort thousands of dollars by having so many guest! The cost for the extra guest is sooo expensive! I've honestly only emailed Pilar a handful of times. I try not to bother her. We paid our deposit in January 2012 and I've only emailed her maybe 4 times. I'll just talk with her when we arrive. She does allow you to swap out the live music for 2 hours of DJ time. Each additional hour is $350. We are extending our reception so we will have a total of 4 hours so we will be paying for 2 additional hours of DJ.
  17. Centerpieces are giving me a HEADACHE!! It is utterly ridiculous how much they charge! We have at least 8 round tables and for the cheapest centerpieces ($65) we are looking at over $500 before taxes just for centerpieces! It's insane!!! I refuse to drag down suitcases full of vases, etc so we are just going to have to suck it up and pay for them. I could actually care less about centerpieces. I've been to dozens of weddings and can't even remember what their centerpieces were, but i suppose we have to have something on the tables. A suggestion would be to use your bridesmaids bouquets if you can. I would def go that route but I only have 1 maid of honor and 8 tables so that won't quite work!
  18. Absolutely! I would still definitely ask! You never know! I'll be happy to share many photos! Ceremony is at 5pm at the Pergola and Cocktails are at the Mix Beach Bar. It's getting super close! I can't believe it's almost here!
  19. I would still send out formal invites as a courtesy. Who knows, they may still send you a gift! I also wouldn't wouldn't be disappointed on your guest count just yet! We are getting married this June and we didn't have our first guest book until January (only 6 months out) we are now almost 2 months out and we have 60 guest booked with 7 more getting ready to book. (we were hoping for about 40-50 so we are wayyyy over budget!!) We invited about 170. It seems that people just want to wait until the last minute to book! For some reason, people just don't want to commit to things far in advance.
  20. From what I've read, it seems that the girls who were able to exchange the transfer for the hair/make up trials were married well over a year ago. It seems that they got lucky because they are no longer allowing that swap. I asked Pilar and she told me its a no go... You either use it or lose it. As for the photography, unfortunately, you cannot swap it out for anything. You can use it for maybe another event but that's it. It seems that they are A LOT less flexible on swapping things out nowadays. Although, everything seems to be soooo inconsistent so maybe some people will catch them on a good day and they might allow a swap! Who knows! Somewhere in this thread, I believe Khunt posted the different script options. We are opting to bring our own script. I've pieced it together by reading different script threads on this forum. You can def throw in your own vows and a reading or two. Our reception is also in Castaways and I also think it's kind or outdoor/indoor-ish. I might be wrong but I don't believe there isn't air conditioning in there! I HOPE I am wrong but I think it's going to be pretty hot. I'm pretty sure I've read past reviews that said there was no A/C. If I was able to go back in time, I would have picked the Bamboo room. I don't know why I didn't to begin with, but oh well! I'll be sure to give you an update about it after my wedding! :-)
  21. Is anyone doing a boudoir shoot? Mines scheduled for 4/13. I am getting so nervous! I'm going to meet the photographers for a consultation on Tuesday so hopefully that will put me more at ease! I've talked to some girls that have already done it and they say it was amazing and they are so happy they did it! I just just so not "me"! I don't know how to 'look' sexy! Haha! I hope they can help me out with that... I'm sure a few glasses of wine will help as well! On another note, my bridal shower is this Saturday! Exciting! 71 day countdown!! :-)
  22. The Divine Package includes the flower arrangements on the pergola.
