  1. My thoughts are with you and your FI. Losing a pet is like losing a family member. I am so sorry... Glad you had a great bridal shower!
  2. Adorable! I love doing projects and involving some wine! ;-)
  3. So happy you had a blast Megan! We leave Friday morning for the beach for my bachelorette weekend! So exciting! 46 days for my countdown!
  4. THIS IS ME EXACTLY!! Dang, I guess us women can be confusing!!! Poor guys! haha!
  5. Most resorts do offer reception dinners in their packages. Unfortunately, it only includes up to a certain amount of people (Now Jade being 25 people) and anything over is extra.. And expensive might I add! We have around 70 guest and the prices add up tremendously. We did find that going with the Moments Package would have been more since we would still have to pay the price per person regardless. We chose the Divine Package.
  6. For anyone who wants the read the thread about the travel mugs, here's the thread: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/85993/dont-order-from-factory-21-for-mugs-or-oriental-trading-for-totes I decided against them b/c I didn't want to carry so many things with us, but at one point I read so many reviews and they all seemed really good! Don't stress if you did order them. Hopefully (unfortunate for that bride) she just received a bad batch.
  7. Maybe I came across wrong. He's does ask me if I need any help & I tell him no... I don't care about the 'help' aspect of it--I don't want his help on the 'DIY' stuff. I just wanted him ask questions about some things since we are so close to the date. I guess I came across wrong on my previous post. I am very untraditional, but that's one tradition I will keep! He will not see my dress until I'm walking down the aisle! Well that & the tradition of not sleeping together the night before!
  8. Wondering how many of your FI's are super involved in the planning? Mine is like non-existent. Lol! He asked me a few times while I was cutting programs, tags, etc if I needed help & I told him no, which I meant bc I don't trust his cutting (I just don't think he'd make the lines as straight as me and stuff! Lol). But now that we are like 50 days out I thought maybe he'd ask me a question or ask something about the wedding--but nothing! So we talked when I got home from work bc it's been bothering me all day. He just said that he knows that everything is gonna be taken care of bc he knows I'll handle it. He knows that our final planning form is due to our resort any day now, so just thought maybe he'd ask something about that since we are so close, idk! He said he's super excited & ready for our day though.... I tell myself that this is normal... I sure hope it is!
  9. You too?? I really thought it was just people in my group that were crazy! How do you not know if you are going to another country for a vacation by now? Money, time off work, etc. I just don't understand. Maybe I'm just a planner, but I think it's absolutely insane, rude too. My fiance's mother told me we'd have some last minute people but I honestly did not expect it to be this last minute. This sounds absolutely horrible, but I truly hope that these last groups of people who say they are coming end up not booking!
  10. I am doing one welcome bag per couple. In each welcome bag will be: Welcome Note (1 Per Bag) Survival Kit (1 per bag, however, things such as chapstick, advil, emergenC, cough drops, drink mix, etc (things that cannot be shared) will be doubled for a couple, or even tripled, as I have some who have rooms as 3 as well) - Things such as hand sanitizer, aloe, tissues, etc will only have 1) Koozies (either 2 or 3 depending on how many in room) Do not disturb sign (1 per bag) Etc..... Hope this makes sense! Doing a survival kit per person was just too expensive! I am finally done with my bags. And if anyone else books, (you would thinks since we are so close we'd have a final count, but NOPE! Believe it or not, some people are still booking) and forgive me, but they are OUT OF LUCK, and will not be receiving a bag. I will nicely tell them I didn't know they were coming since it was past the deadline and I just didn't have enough things.. I could care less at this point! If they couldn't give me the respect/common courtesy to book on time, I'm not gonna run around trying to purchase last minute things for them. I hope it doesn't take me too long to assemble once we arrive at the resort! I have some helpers so hopefully we can knock it out and head to the beach! :-)
  11. Your brochures look great Kelli! I just ordered mine from Vistaprint as well! I can't wait for them to arrive so we can send them off!!
  12. We really wanted to do maracas and planned on ordering from Amols as well. I have since decided against it. I just don't feel like dragging down 60+ maracas. I already have enough to bring. I've read on here that maracas can be rather pricey down there. You would think they would be cheap but I think the best deal is Amols if you don't mind the hassle of bringing them down
  13. I'm ready for the most part. I've also dropped a few small things that I just don't feel like buying and I've just gotten tired. The last things on my list are: Order Chair Sashes Buy Make Up Pick up dress Bachelorette Party! I'm sure there may be a few small things I'm missing, but I cannot think right now. One thing that's driving me absolutely nuts are people that have RSVP'd but not booked! My attitude when this all began was "If they don't book 2-3 months in advance, they more then likely aren't coming!" WRONG! I have about 20 people who swear they are coming but have not booked or picked out meal choices. It is very rude and inconsiderate. Especially when I am making welcome bags for everyone. I'm at the point now, where I am running out of supplies and refuse to order more. The last people that book, will not receive a bag. I will politely tell them that they missed the deadline and we did not know they were coming. Have you already sent your planning form off to Pilar?
  14. I could not find it at walmart by the way.... You would think they would have it, but not the ones near me.

  16. This is off topic since it has nothing with the resort, but wanted to share that I did my boudoir shoot on Saturday and received my photos yesterday! I am so happy I did it. They came out great and are very tasteful. Can't wait to make them into his "little black book" to be delivered to him the morning of the wedding. If your hesitant about doing them, I say go for it. It was a huge confidence booster for myself too! My one recommendation is to get your make up professionally done. I got mine done at MAC, you have to buy $50 worth of make up for them to do it and I needed to stock up on some make up anyways so it worked perfect. I had them focus on my eyes and they came out wonderful in the pictures! Thank You Tova for your words of advice, you were so right! We also moved into our new house over the weekend and we are trying to get settled in. This past few days has been non-stop! My goodness. But now it's time to focus on wedding stuff again! Sunday was our 2 month mark! According to my countdown on my phone, we are 59 days, 6 hours and 13 minutes away.... But who's counting?! LOL ;-)
