I def wouldn't change your time in fear of rain. It could rain at any time of the day. I would stick with your original time. I've been fearing rain on our wedding day too, but in reality there's absolutely nothing you can do about the weather so try not to stress about it!

Kristen, glad your back and i'm happy your wedding was wonderful - - But this just terrified me!!!!

Well I've started packing! I've completely packed the wedding bag and was successful in my goal of ONE bag for wedding supplies and welcome bag items! When we began planning I really didn't want to do the welcome bag thing. I didn't want to be bothered dragging everything down but as time went on, I thought that was selfish and I could at least do something for my guest. We originally expected around 40 guest, not 62 so as more people booked, we realized we had to keep the welcome bags a bit more simple. There were a few things I really wanted to add, but I didn't because it would have been WAY to many things to bring to MX. So anyways, we kept the welcome bags simple, as well as the wedding decor. We really wanted to fit everything into one checked luggage bag that weighs below the 50lbs weight limit... and it weighs 44lbs! Whooohoo! I've also started packing my own bag. I've been throwing things in there that I think of throughout the day and I've packed a few things that won't wrinkle. Everything else is pretty much laid out in a room ready to be placed in the bag! My FI hasn't touched his bag yet, that's just how he (and probably most guys) is. I'm sure he'll pack the night before we leave! So is anyone coming up this weekend? There's too many pages here to go through everyone's dates! We should have made a page with everyone's dates listed in order! If not, I think me and a few others are coming up next weekend!! Eeeeekkkkkkk!!! We fly in on Wednesday, the 12th.... Anyone else? I'll look for you at the airport!!

I probably should know this but are you suppose to brush your teeth with the sink water? I know I'd be careful not to swallow it, but I am having terrible dreams of becoming sick during our trip! I'm starting to get super paranoid! Should I use bottled water or have others been okay using the sink?

I've read this on every review as well. As soon as the arrived they were whisked away to the preferred check in. I'm not asking for the best room, I just expected to be preferred. **fingers crossed** I did receive my budget from them this morning though! My estimates were right on the money, *no pun intended*

That's what I thought, however; I just received this: Now I'm freaking out because we really expected to be upgraded to preferred and only booked a Jr Suite Tropical View Complimentary room upgrade for the couple to the immediate superior category (based on availability, Ocean Front rooms & Governor Suite not apply for Upgrades) these means if you have your reservation Junior suite tropical view the upgrade will be the Junior suite ocean view, if you have a junior suite ocean view you will have the up grade to the preferred room ocean view.

One more question! If we did not book preferred, does this mean we do not get upgraded to preferred? I thought the preferred upgrade was included in the package so we did not get book preferred, but now I am confused.

Ugh, I just need to vent.. I've been so patient throughout this whole planning process. I've emailed Pilar maybe 2-3 times in 15 months. We are now 11 days away from our wedding and I have yet to receive anything from her since I sent our planning form about 45 days ago. I am now starting to become a little frustrated. We need our budget form like now! I do understand she's busy, and I am very laid back and confident that everything will work out once we arrive & have our meeting, but we need this planning/budget form to know how much this wedding is going to cost us! I know she's busy dealing with weddings that are going on right now, but I also feel that we are close enough to our date to become a priority, just at least send us the budget form is all I ask :-) I've made an estimate myself in excel that I feel is pretty accurate based on our headcount but I'd feel a bit better about it if she would actually send me theirs so I can see how close my estimate is. I'm sure there is some kind of added cost that I may have missed. I called the resort yesterday and left a message for her to call me back & also emailed Olivia who runs Jades FB page. Hoping I can get a response today! Besides that, I am ready! I started packing yesterday and was able to fit all of our wedding things and welcome bag supplies into one large bag and it weighed 44 lbs! That was my goal, not to have more than 1 extra bag for the wedding supplies and welcome bags and to keep it below 50 lbs! It was hard, seeing that we have 64 guest. We kept our welcome bags and decor fairly simple for this exact reason!

I do not at all. I couldn't imagine having a traditional, local wedding. I am sad that a few people I love won't make it, but I would plan a DW again in a heartbeat!

I agree with this. It's ridiculous! And it's $66 if just for the reception, that doesn't include cocktail hour apps or anything else! Insane. I feel like the more guest you have, the package price should cost less! We are bringing the resort 64 guest for the week!! That's thousands and thousands of dollars we are bringing the resort for that week! It's so frustrating!

Girls, I am getting soooo excited! We leave in 15 days!! Its becoming so real! I have butterflies and I do not know how i will make it through the next week and a half through work!! Just 8 more work days left!

Pilar & Freddy at the spa told me one month prior. I made mine around the 15th of May for my June 14th wedding. I'm sure 45 days wouldn't hurt. Below is my correspondence with Pilar: -When do I need to schedule hair/make up for me and my sister? 1 MOTH BEFORE TO THE CEREMONY THE CONTACT IS FREDY LUGO HIS EMAIL ADDRESS IS [email protected] -When do I need to schedule our couples massage included in package for my fiancé and I? YOU CAN SCHEDULE WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE RESORT. The wedding planning form is to be submitted 45 days ahead--maybe that's what you read? However, I've submitted mine and still haven't heard back from them & I'm just 3 weeks out.... Which is fine, thankfully I'm completely laid back & we'll just figure everything out when we arrive.

That's a good idea! ELF is just so cheap I'd be scared of it melting right off with the heat and stuff, but if you used it with no problems, that's probably what I'll do! Did you use the actual Elf lashes or just the glue?

Does anyone know if the salon has glue for fake eyelashes? I have a pair of MAC lashes but apparently lost the glue. I don't want to buy any, so I'm hoping when I get my make up done by the resort, they'd have glue? Anybody know?

I got the 8x8 but just a regular hard cover. No pic on the front or anything. Just says "For My Husbands Eyes Only" on the cover Hahaha! Me too. The past month I had some small things in my 'to-do' list and have since said F-it to all of them! It actually feels really good! Nobody will even miss them ;-) I am completely done! If we were leaving this week, I'd be ready!

I made my own through shutterfly. I found some coupons online & paid like $20 for it, i think it's like 20 pages. My photographer tried to charge about $450. I was like HECK NO! I put love & marriage quotes on one side an my photo on the other. It came out great & shipped within a week. I can't wait to give it to him! Highly recommend shutterfly ;-)

We have decided to do the symbolic ceremony in Mexico and get married (or do the paperwork as I like to call it), downtown at the courthouse 2 days before we leave. We will celebrate our Wedding Anniversary on our Mexico wedding date (6/14). We did this for a few reasons. I don't know about the divorce thing but I wouldn't doubt it. Our reasons are that it cost less to have a symbolic ceremony, everything is in Spanish, and you have to have it translated into English, they take your blood (we do not want our blood drawn in Mexico, I'm sure they do it all the time but just not something we wanted to do there), and we had to arrive 4 business days before our ceremony which we couldn't do, I think there was another reason we choose not to do the legal thing there but I can't think of it. We are both Catholic & the Catholic Church will not "recognize" our marriage so a few months after we get back we will have the church bless our marriage, I think it's called a Convalidation Ceremony or something like that. I'll have to check further into that to see what all we need to do. We are not advertising to anyone that we are doing "the paperwork" before hand, our parents do know though and I'm sure some guests may know if they ever researched DW's because this is a very common way, lots of people do it this way. It will only be my sister and my FI's bestman that come to the courthouse with us for our witnesses. Very casual, we are wearing jeans & we are not exchanging rings or anything.

Congrats on your closing!! Hope you get settled in soon! I've completed just about everything! We leave in 28 days! I pick up my dress today & and my fiance's suit will be ready in 2 weeks. He leaves for his Bachelor party on Thursday and will be giving his 2 best men their suits then.. I pray they drop it off to get altered immediately! I've got all our wedding stuff in a pile ready to be put into a suit case! The only thing stressing me out right now is that we are STILL having people book! I am shocked that people are still booking so late in the game, how rude! So I gotta fix the seating charts and a few escort cards but other than that, I'm ready!
