I know a few of us were taking a few pages back about whether or not the bride and groom were included in the 25 head count? Does anyone know for sure? I know it says 25 GUEST, but I just would like to be sure.

People are starting to book! So far we have 16 people booked, including both of our parents! I am getting so nervous! Not nervous about the marriage but I'm really nervous about the wedding itself! I don't really like being the center of attention and it's beginning to look like most of our guest will be from my fiance's side, and a lot that I haven't met yet! I don't really like the "all eyes on me" thing. I'm also scared that it won't be "fancy" enough for them. I'm a very simple and basic kind of girl, I don't care much about flowers, centerpieces, etc but now I'm starting to think if I don't do enough, they might think it's cheesy.

I am making escort cards with each guest name and table # on them with a little logo for either fish or beef. I am going to ask Pilar to put them on a table either at cocktail hour or as you walk into the reception for the guest to grab. They'll find their name then sit at the corresponding table number. It doesn't matter exactly which seat they'll sit at as long as they place their place card in front of them, the server will know what to bring them. I'll just tell Pilar how many of each entree at each table. I'm also doing menus, but they will all be the same, everyone is having the same 1st and 2nd course and for the entrees, I'll put both entree choices on the menu.

I haven't been to Cancun yet, but I can tell you that I have a few friends that go twice a year and they say they feel safe. They even ride the public buses! I'm sure you'll be fine! As with everywhere, use common sense of course! But I'm sure you'll be fine!

That's awesome that your package includes up to 40 guest! We got our bands in November. We also wanted to get it out of the way! I think all resorts are different but mine has a wedding guide and we can chose food, cake, etc.

Mine needs to know 45 days prior, so like the end of April. I just picked 2 entrees that sounded the best to us and put those choices on the rsvp card. Everyone will get them same app/salad, etc. They'll just pick their entree.

I know "etiquette" says that you should hand write the addresses but I honestly don't care about that! There is no way I was going to sit there and write out 150 addresses. I just printed address labels. I doubt anyone will even care that it isn't hand written! I just sent our invites last week. Asking for RSVP by March 14th. 3 months before the wedding. I need some time to do things with a head count so my rsvp is kinda early. The way I see it, most people should know if they are going to Mexico 3 months prior, if you don't, you more than likely aren't coming.

Thank You! Did you use the resort DJ? If so, did you get the email address from Pilar? Did you just bring a list of songs or did you have to bring the actual songs like on your ipod or something?

Hoping one of you ladies can help me. Sorry if it's been answered but I can't find it. Concerning the resort DJ, I do have the DJ for Pilar sent me. However, can we have a detailed list of every song we want played during the reception (dinner and dancing?) I know on the spreadsheet it only ask for favorite type of music and songs not to play, and of course the special songs like first dance, etc. so I'm just wondering if I can make a spreadsheet of the exact songs/artist we want played through the evening. I would send this ahead of time so the DJ can take a look at it & make sure he has the songs. We like such a variety of music and I just want to make sure everything we like is played.

Have you tried on the second dress? I really wanted a flowy dress for my destination wedding but every one I tried on looked almost like a night gown on me. It just gave me no shape and I looked frumpy. If you have tried it on and still love it, go with whichever one makes you feel beautiful! They are both pretty!

I chose the Pergola.. It's kinda what sold me on the resort, I just fell in love with it. I really want to wear heels and couldn't imagine wearing heels in the sand. The Pergola is awesome in my opinion. You get the beautiful backdrop of the ocean with out all the sand :-) I haven't been there yet, so I can't comment on the beach being rocky, although I have read that in a few reviews, I have also read that they do a great job trying to keep up on it. I haven't heard much on Castaways, I kinda liked the idea that it's partially outside, but covered in case it rains.

I read this on a review too and asked Pilar and she said unfortunately no. The only option is to give to another family member or friend. Which kinda stinks b/c airport transfers are included with our trip! I understand it's a "private" transfer but I'm flying in with some family and want to ride to the resort with them. They should change that option in the package to something else as it's not really needed (in my opinion). Ugh, I wish they'd let you swap. It seems like they are inconsistent with swapping so it's def worth a shot, but I was denied! lol

Agreed! I won't be calling anyone. I won't even send out emails. If they don't respond we will assume they aren't going. I think it's crazy that people actually don't RSVP, but oh well! I would never not RSVP even if I can't make it! Common courtesy!

That looks very similar to what I want to do. I like the submergable colored candles in the vases. Something like this: I am just not sure if I want to take so many vases with me and it's pretty expensive to rent them from my resort. I may just end up going with something basic that they offer. Who knows, I'll have to decide on that a bit later. As for cocktail hour, you're not being cheap! I'm not even doing centerpieces for cocktail hour, so that's being cheap! haha
