Also, I have just emailed whatever questions I had regarding the reception, entertainment, cake, flowers, etc and the coordinator responds with the answer and pictures when I've asked for them...

Hi bklyngl79,  I'm sorry you're having problems! I have had nothing but positive interaction with the coordinator at Riu Palace. I have added an international plan on my phone and have had several conversations with the coordinator. They have been very accommodating with my requests...  The only issue I have had is that they do not respond very quickly to email. However, when I spoke with her she mentioned that they do 2-3 weddings a day so knowing that AND knowing that my wedding is over a yr away I tend to be a little more patient when waiting on their response. But if I don’t hear back in 3 or 4 days I just re-send the email and usually get a quick response.  Hope all works out well…

Will do my boarding passes with flight info in January and passport books with passport info in April. I to have a similar situation... My FI only has 2 attendants (both best men) and I have 6 attendants (1 MOH & 5 Bridesmaids)... My plan is to have both best men stand at the alter and have all the female attendants walk down the aisle. I will have the MOH stand at the alter and a reserved front row for the remaining bridesmaids to sit during the ceremony. Does this sound OK or any other ideas??? Feedback ladies? Thanks!

Hi Ladies, My name is Quiyana aka Q and I too will be getting married in October 2011 at Riu Palace in Punta Cana Dominican Republic. Venue is booked and confirmed. Regarding STD's & Invites - I sent an informal info flyer out via email informing family and friends of the DW, the package cost, payment schedule & travel agent info. Once 1st deposit is made, I will send thank you post cards to ppl for booking their package. (100 FREE postcards from Vistaprint, paid $6 for shipping) Since we're doing a package deal, flight info for our group is not available until around 1 year out from travel date. In Jan, I plan on sending out boarding passes with flight info. (DIY Project - template from this site) In April, I plan on sending out passport books (DIY project - template from this site) with info on the resort and how to get a passport. In Sept, I plan on sending out pre-wedding brochures (from Vistaprint) with local and travel information + luggage tags (DIY Project - template from this site) to all guests. Since we're over a year out, I'm hoping to keep the guest excited about the upcoming trip, with the various mailings! I look forward to this theard and trading ideas! Happy planning Oct 11 brides!

I'm getting married @ Riu Palace Punta Cana and they charge $35 per bag delivered (LIKE REALLY!?!?) and free if handed out at check-in. So needless to say I will have them handed out at check-in or at the welcome dinenr/reception.
