  1. Great picture. I think the "take the plunge" line would be perfect for the picture.
  2. Well said mexbride83. We chose Ceiba del Mar for all of the reasons you mentioned. Our family was not thrilled to hear we were planning our wedding in Mexico. They see the news and think everywhere is "bad". I also didn't want the "cookie-cutter" wedding. Good Luck with your planning.
  3. I had posted this in a different thread but I think that one is too old so copying it to this one: Like a few of you have mentioned, your families had not met so that was a main reason for having an engagement party. I'm in the same boat and a very generous friend is hosting our engagement party August 21st at her house. She really isn't telling me too much about the evening except it is for adults only, cocktail hour from 5 - 8, she is paying for a bartender and I guess appetizers. I really don't want guests to bring gifts- I just want my friends and family to get to hang out for a few hours but she didn't put that on the invite. So now, the big question is...what do I do for her and her husband for hosting this party!!???

  5. Does $2 per light to be hung by the resort sound reasonable? We were planning on bringing them and putting the LED lights in them ourselves.
  6. Tweets I think we are going to do our ceremony at 5:30. Our WC sent us the sunset times and the possible options and I think this will be ok to get pictures in before the lighting is poor. We are doing a symbolic ceremony b/c we are planning to legally get married here in the states before going to Mexico but we are not telling out guests. We figured it would be easier that way. When we did our site visit, we decided to do the ceremony on the pier, cocktail at the sushi lounge and reception on the large terrace.
  7. Has anyone used this company to help with their wedding plans? Input? Thanks
  8. Hey Ladies, Thought I would post to see how your wedding planning is going? I feel like I'm going in circles right now...april wedding and nothing booked yet other than the resort...am I behind? Ugh
  9. Did anyway have to pay a fee to have the resort hand out your bag to your guests when they checked in? I was told that I will have to pay $2 or $3 per bag and it goes up in price if I want the bag to be in the room when the guests arrive. Thanks
  10. I love the laterns and would like some type of hanging light. For those of you who are buying them yourself, who will be assemblying /installing these at your reception? thanks
  11. Thanks to Susana, I used Ginger also for my STD. I took the picture when I visited Ceiba del Mar (the resort). Ginger was very easy to work with and got them to me in no time at all. I decided to send them as a postcard and addressed them myself. I can't seem to get the attachment to upload. Any suggestions? Error message says invalid.
  12. I guess you haven't heard anything about DJ Omar? He was also recommended to me from a WC but would like to hear some feedback from brides. Let me know if you any info or if you booked a different DJ.
  13. Best of luck planning. It took me about a month or so to decide on my location (country) and then a little bit longer to select the place. It is a lot of researching but this site is very helpful.
  14. With any technology change, there will be glitches but I'm sure in the long-run the benefits will outweigh these minor problems. My friends and family keep asking me how my wedding plans are going, and thanks to this site, I am doing a lot of research to make the best decisions. THANKS!
  15. The Anniston is very pretty and I love the way it shows how the sexy curves!
  16. Wonderful news! Glad the wedding was perfect for you and look forward to hearing any suggestions you may have. Sol...still trying to convince my fiance it is worth the hefty cost!

However, if money is no object, then these companies seem to do a great job, and it looks like they do big corporate events as well. It might be better to work through an independent wedding planner? Sometimes they are able to get better rates b/c of their relationships. I am trying to find other quotes as well because they are crazy expensive! The seating arrangment for the rehersal is almost as much as the food and alchohol!!
