Thanks for posting the pictures of the square tables. Do circle tables really take up more space than square? The weddings I have been to, I always felt squished at a round table and think of round tables as being the traditional so I wanted to do something different.

I wanted to use a monogram consistently on anything that we gave our guest. I would like to use this on the sleeve for the boarding pass invite and then use it on Welcome packets for the guests when they arrive at the resort. I could maybe also use it on a thank you (maybe on the envelope). We are planning on using the tan/brownish color with some blue and coral accents. We are not going crazy with a theme colored wedding and are having very nuetral colors.

But if you are bringing all of these things yourself, who is responsible for setting them up and taking them away? Is the resort charging you a fee for everything you bring and they need to do? Â

I guess I did things differently and negotiated with the hotel on the prices instead using a TA to get the best price. I didn't find this website until after I returned from my site visit to Mexico and could kick myself now. Just praying everything works out. I tend to worry a lot and lately all of my dreams are about the wedding! Am I crazy?? HA Â A family friend will be showing us a sample of the invites she is doing for us this weekend so I would like to send them out in September. Â

 My FI said he called Continental and they will not honor a discount. I didn't go with a TA since we had negotiated everything with the resort ourselves so now we can't use a TA. Hopefully my guests will be ok booking on their own. The older guests who are not computer savvy I am sure I will be helping but everyone else I expect to be on their own. Â

Wow. You must be very busy booking all of your guests. I can't believe they are calling you to do it. I can see my grandparents and maybe my mother asking me to do that but not everyone. Good luck!! Were you able to get a discount with the airline??

My Fi and I showed his mother a picture of a recption area that had used these laterns and she hated them. She likes these lights that the decor company we are working but she isn't paying the $800 just for the lights. Now what, use these knowing she hates them? UGH!

 The onsite WC should be able to give you a list of vendors that they have dealt with in the past. Who are you working with at Ceiba? They have had some changes in the past few months with employees. Did you visit CDM? It is gorgeous and you and your guests will have a blast. It sounds like a lot of people used EW as a vendor who can probably do most of the flowers, decor, etc... Good luck. Â

Hi Everyone, I thought I posted on this thread before but I guess not. Â I am getting married April 16, 2011 at Ceiba del Mar in Riviera Maya. My FI and I went to Mexico in June to look at the resort and during that time we met with different vendors that our WC (from Tropical Wedding Experts) had arranged. The outside WC used to be the WC for the resort and was highly recommended from a girl who was married at the resort in Feb 10. Â My FI and I went back and forth with the resort to finalize the contract and officially signed with them by the beginning of July. I see many of you are using a TA. This forum is great but it also makes me double guess everything I do. I didn't use a TA and my guests will need to use the wedding code to book the room with the resort and book their own flight. Â We sent out our STD postcards a few weeks ago, website up but not finished 100%, engagement party is this Saturday, registered, and looking at getting the invites done. Also went dress shopping the past two weeks and I have decided to have my dress made. Â I also see most of you are sending the invites in January. My issue is, 50% of the rooms must be booked by end of October and the rest must be booked by December or else the guests will not received a discount on the room. Too early to send out invites in September? Â We are not having a bridal party but will have my niece and my FI's two nieces as flower girls. Â Thanks for all of your posts!

I defn think not doing chairs is fine especially when the ceremony is only about 15 minutes. If you have any older guests that may need to sit, perhaps you can have a row of chairs and have them designated for those people. Yes, you would defn need to have someone there organzing the guests so it is done orderily. Â

I was just wondering if most of you are having your guests book through a TA? We have our wedding code for our guests to obtain the discounted rate at the resort which we have posted on our wedding website. All they need to do is call the 800 number and book it and also book their flight. I'm just wondering if we are asking everyone to do too much on their own???

Sounds like you are making progress on your plans. Â We have been working with Eventos Euphoria but have not finalized everything. We are planning on using them for all decor items including the lounge seating for the bbq the night before the wedding and the bonfire. Â Did you do a site visit? When we went to do ours, we met with three florists. If you want their contact info, PM me.
