  1. Yesenia is who I spoke to via email for MONTHS before I was contacted by my WC. She was amazing, and always answered all of my questions. She made sure that my WC knew everything that we had discussed. I brought all of my saved email conversations with me to Mexico when we went in case anything went wrong, and I didn't need any of them. I actually contacted Yesenia a month or so ago to let her know we would be back for our anniversary and asked her to make sure that she added that we would be celebrating our anniversary to our reservation, and she did! (I booked online so I didn't have the option to make sure we got the free anniversary package..so Yesenia did that for me!)
  2. Future brides...try not to let it worry you. I feel awful that Noelle had such a bad experience, but a lot of us had GREAT experiences. It is definitely scary to know that happened recently, but try to stay positive ladies!! The resort is gorgeous and we are very excited to be going back for our anniversary!!!
  3. You can definitely make them. You would have to cut out the size of the pocket with extra "tabs" added on to the side and bottom. Then you would fold the tabs under and glue them to the invite so that it creates a pocket. Hard to explain in words, but I'm sure there are picture tutorials out there!! THey are called pocket invites!
  4. Krysta I actually bought the pocket invite part pre-made. I believe this is where I bought them -- http://www.paperandmore.com/cards/metallic/index_pocket_himalaya_a7.html -- I purchased them in the Lagoon color.
  5. I have never been to Moon Palace, but I have heard GREAT things!! I believe Moon Palace is designed just like ASP -- it is pretty big, has like 7 restaurants and has a full service spa!! I would definitely say that Moon Palace has a lot more to offer than Playacar. Playacar was beautiful, but after going there for a day from ASP, I was definitely glad I chose where I did. We were not impressed by Playacars food or restaurant selection, and it didn't seem like they had much in terms of activities? Although they have a beautiful beach and it has direct access to the town of Playa del Carmen, Moon Palace is a lot closer to excursions, and you can also visit the other cancun palace resorts (sun and beach palace) fairly easily. Moon Palace is also 30-40 min. closer to the airport, which would make for easier travel to and from. If it were my choice, I would hands down pick Moon Palace. I feel like they would make for a better wedding and vacation location in the end. I used tripadvisor.com to read reviews, as do a lot of the brides on here. Hopefully that will help you?
  6. Thanks so much!! I LOVED Aventura Spa Palace!!! The Palace resorts are gorgeous and have great service, from my experiences. We visit Playacar Palace too, which was beautiful, but small. We are headed back to ASP for our anniversary in June, and then to Cozumel Palace for the rest of our trip!
  7. I bought all of my linens from CV Linens -- http://cvlinens.com/ and packed them in my suitcase. It is very expensive to rent them from the resort! Then I just sold them on here when I was done with them!
  8. Awesome! Yeah, I had chosen the Coba too at first! I didn't like the huge white box that sits right outside of the Coba, so I'm VERY happy that there was a 3rd choice! I'm sorry I don't remember about the Pandero. I brought a whole thing of fishing line and let them "design" and hang everything the way they thought fit, so I didn't even have experience working with the measurements or distance.
  9. Tammy -- great choices!! ) As soon as I saw the bridge at the Chichen Gazebo I knew that was what I wanted!!! One word of advice for the Chichen, if you choose to have them put down an aisle runner (which I did -- a tan one), you have to be very specific about telling them that you want the runner to be straight with the ALTAR. The altar is actually not centered in that gazebo, it is off to the left, but if they do your runner straight, it will look funny in all of your pictures and you won't end up walking straight to the altar!? My suite where I got ready gave me a straight view of the gazebo and I actually saw them setting my runner up wrong!! I freaked out and sent my dad and bridesmaid to tell them to fix it, which they did, but it is definitely something you may want to check in on. Just an FYI that came to mind when you were talking about decorations. They started charging a "setup" fee for any decorations you bring and they have to set up. When I went I think it was $60. While I wasn't thrilled, it was worth it to me to not have to worry about anything. This included setup for my welcome cocktail party lanterns, the chair sashes for my ceremony and the vases for my reception.
  10. I loved the SPA lobby bar!! We spent a LOT of time there ) but I'm sure the COVE bar is very similar in atmosphere! I don't think it's too early to make your appointments! I booked mine a few months in advance I believe. Better safe than sorry I'd say! My wedding was at 5 and we started out appointments at 10:30 I believe, but there were 7 of us all together. They do not come to your room, you have to go to the salon. I would estimate 1hr - 1 1/2hrs for hair, just to be safe. The language barrier is thick, so they tended to go slower to make sure everything was perfect. Then give maybe another 45min - 1hr for makeup? The woman for schedules spa appointments will actually send you a full schedule with time frames for everything, so that should help you plan better. All you have to do is tell her what everyone wants done and either when you'd like to start or when you'd like to be done by, and she'll take care of fitting it all together for you!
  11. You can definitely use your resort dollars for that! As your date approaches, there is actually a rep you can contact there to make your appointments ahead of time to, to make sure you have the exact timing you want. I have deleted all of my emails, but if you ask Yesenia to put you in contact with her, I'm sure she will!! I can actually say I never made it to the martini bar!?! I know my brother went up there to grab a drink once when we were hanging by the lagoon, but I didn't get the chance to go there at night. I do know there are lights and music though, so it could at least be a fun place to start!! It is open and right on the water too!
  12. Yeah, he doesn't have an underwater camera, but I can tell you this -- he has no problem climbing on rocks and getting in the water with you!! He was in the lagoon and ocean WITH us to make sure he got great shots!
  13. Also, if you or any of your adult guests wanted, you could really stay on either side! It is only a matter of walking to the middle and opening up a door to get to the cove side from the spa and vice versa! It really is just like having one really large resort!
  14. Hey Sarah! The resorts are "separate" but really are managed the same. The WC's are the same, ceremonies and restaurants are managed the same. The only difference in these two are that one area allows children and the other does not. They are connected and you can walk back and forth and use them, as an adult, interchangeably. I had my cocktail party on the cove side, my wedding on the spa side, and my reception on the cove side. To me it was all the same! Hope that helps!
  15. Sorry, I actually think they took that feature away shortly after I had mine printed!!! ( bummer!!!
  16. dont forget that you dont HAVE to have your cocktail party after the wedding...i am so happy that we did ours as a welcome party instead! and our guests enjoyed cocktails and appetizers at our reception site with no care at all!
  17. I didn't have a rehearsal dinner. We had the welcome cocktail party on Thursday night and handed out our gifts there and let everyone know what to look forward to on Saturday. We had a small group so we together A LOT. We always just instinctively met at the pool bar whenever we all got up and went from there every day. On the Friday before our wedding a group of us actually met and took the shuttle to Playacar for the day.
  18. They do not do a rehearsal. They ask that the groomsmen be at the ceremony site 15 minutes before the ceremony, and they will come to your suite to pick up the bridesmaids and instruct them along the way. Your WC will run through your whole ceremony with you at your planning meeting, and she will be there for every event you have (welcome party/ceremony/etc.) to make sure everything runs as planned. They really are seamless!!
  19. Yep, Amber, that was me! Here is the pic of the Pandero from my cocktail party. They didn't use all of my lanterns though...but I'm sure you can be more specific than I was about how many to put up! You can't really tell from this pic, but the guy standing in the bottom left by the rock wall in the yellow tie was the bartender -- that is where the bar was set up. You can sort of see the bottles behind him.
  20. This order goes: (I hope this makes some kind of sense!!!!) first spread -- back and front cover second spread -- last page (8th), first page third spread -- second page, second to last page (7th) fourth spread -- 6th page, 3rd page fifth spread -- 4th page, 5th page
  21. Here is a picture of the order I had mine in! I hope this helps!! The template is definitely not designed to be "created" in order, it is designed so that when you print back to back it is in order. Try to compare this picture to the order my book was in!
