  1. I wish I could lose track of time for a few months!! I feel like my wedding is so far away!! You have plenty of time to get things done! I would definitely make a list of everything you need in general, check off everything that you've done so far, and just start working through it! As far as the welcome bags are concerned, I am only going to end up spending around $15-20 per bag. I was very thrifty about the things I bought, and already have most of the things for them already. I got bags, t-shirts, pens and notepads all from VistaPrint for free (just paid shipping) to start out. If you need help coming up with some things, let me know!!
  2. Honestly, you can find sashes for less than $1 a piece, and I don't think they'd weigh down your suitcase that much!? I'd say its worth it to save that much money!! We are getting harpist!! I heard it's perfect!! ) and my FI actually suggested that because it would be more romantic than having the trio or mariachi...and if you knew my FI at all, you'd know that's rare!!!! haha I'm not really sure about centerpieces!?! I would love any easy ideas any of you may have too! For the paper lanterns, I'm thinking about getting them for the Pandero terrace to hang from the top for my cocktail party, I've seen pictures of that that look really good. I'm just not sure whether to go with white or one of my other colors, or a combo? I do believe I heard someone say that if you bring your own decorations that they will still set them up??
  3. Haha that's so funny!! I'm still debating to be honest!! I think Thomas likes the orange combo better than the raspberry but I don't know! Was thinking of purchasing dark teal linens and accenting with orange/peachy flowers.. what are your ideas? Honestly, I've seen people do teal, orange and pink all together! I'm having aqua/teal'ish dresses with orange, white and maybe a splash of another color for my flowers. I think it's nice to throw a few splashes of color into the mix. I was so safe in the beginning with my thought on colors, and just picked orange and yellow (because I originally went with the Amber Collection)..and I've branched out so much! Here is an example of how my friend joined all of those colors..maybe it will inspire you? I actually picked/changed my colors to what they are now and just saw her pictures and realized I made a great decision! (I cropped her bridesmaid's face out because I stole her pic off facebook haha)
  4. Welcome Natalie!!! You're getting married a little over a month before me!! I'm June 25 ) My colors are the first combo you were thinking about -- teal, orange and white!
  5. I'm curious about this too. I am definitely having my cocktail party at the Pandero Terrace but haven't decided what wedding gazebo I want yet. I don't know how far away everything is?
  6. Ahhh I hope 5pm for the wedding will be ok! I honestly moved it back because I know that both my FI and I have a lot of trouble taking pictures in the sun, so I was hoping if our pictures were during sunset that we would be fine. My eyes cry after like 30 seconds...which is why my engagement pictures didn't turn out as great as I had hoped :oP
  7. Kim What was the schedule of your day like? I am getting married in June and just recently decided to move my wedding from 4 to 5 because I wanted our pictures to be closer to sunset.
  8. We discussed that option and decided to go ahead with everything that goes along with being married in Mexico. The only thing I'm starting to worry about now is that I want the exchange of the rings and the "you may kiss the bride" part. I think I would be upset if we didn't do some of the traditional things.
  9. Wow, that's good to know. I DO want the "I do's". That is my favorite part. I will defnitely ask her to see what we can do...once I get a WC??
  10. Thanks ladies!! My mom LOVES the idea, which I was worried she might not..and the bridesmaids I've talked to are all for the change! I think I'm going to go for it!
  11. Do you still do the traditional ring/vow ceremony!?!?! The "in sickness and health, in good times and bad..." part!? Am I the only one that wishes we didn't have to sign papers and do fingerprinting in the middle of the wedding? I struggled with the thought of it for awhile and then just chalked it up to the experience of a destination wedding.
  12. It won't be a big deal if I change...even though she already "ordered", the woman isn't sending in the actual order until all 5 of them send in their forms. So it would just be a matter of calling her and saying "make them all glacier instead of canary". The color from the first picture looked more green when it really isnt -- it was supposed to say that and I guess got deleted haha Lisa, I KNOW!!! You are 4 days before me!!!
  13. Thanks Lisa!! I kind of think the same thing too. I have been a bit jealous of everyone's bright, beautiful colors, and it started making me feel like something was missing.
  14. Ok, this is a better image of the color -- glacier..the other one seemed mo
  15. But do you think that teal/aqua color above doesn't match the orange enough to have their dresses that color? That is what I worry about..
  16. I actually did consider that! But I think if I did use all three, I would use the yellow in the flowers, not in the dress. I have a redhead and a blonde in my bridal party that I think would appreciate if I didn't use yellow? So I have that in mind as well.
  17. Hey Ladies!! Ok, so for the past 6 months I thought I had decided that my wedding colors would be Orange and Yellow. The other day I was on the forum and saw the color combo of Orange and Aqua, and I immediately considered a change. The only things I've bought for my wedding so far have been orange -- even my passport invites were orange. I have yet to include yellow in anything, BUT I have already picked out my bridesmaids dress (in yellow) and the girls are in the middle of sending in their orders now. Lucky for me, I am using the store that I purchased my bridal gown from and I know for a fact that she will not be placing the order until ALL girls have sent in their order forms -- only one girl has so far. SO, I do have time to change them from yellow to an aqua/teal color without a problem. The only thing I worry about is that I'm not sure the aqua/teal color that is offered through my designer is going to match right with the orange in my flowers. I'm up for any other suggestions you have, and I have seen orange and fuschia done a lot, but the pink dress offered by bill levkoff isn't the right color. To give you a visual... My flowers: (sorry about the quality) teal and yellow dresses: Thanks ahead of time for any feedback!!!
  18. Taryn, I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. It really is such a shame that some people can't accept that, especially someone as close to you as your father should be. I hear you though...my mother's side of the family is very strict catholic and her aunt (my great aunt) has already told me that in the eyes of god "my marriage doesn't count" and "expect that my grandparents will not be coming". I don't take offense to her saying that, but I am very saddened by the fact that I actually don't think my grandparents are coming. I am a big family person and my grandparents mean the world to me. I have already let them know how much it would mean to me to have them there, so we will see.
  19. Our wedding is about 8 months away and we only have 5 people booked so far and it's sort of starting to worry me too...I'm starting to worry that some people that said they are coming won't come. I know for sure we have at least 10-15 more coming...but I definitely thought in the beginning we would be closer to 30. Who knows...I know in the end that our parents and the people who will mean the most will be there, so that's really all that matters.
  20. Honestly, we only invited our close family and bridal party on purpose. We didn't want a huge crowd -- which was our reason for having a DW in the first place. I do get a little envious sometimes too about the large groups, but I'm really glad we planned it to be small. I'm excited to spend a few days celebrating with the small group we are bringing. We will most likely have between 25-30.
  21. Oh, and about the credit, and I would print out the website terms and hand it to them when they tell you no. If you have it in writing, I doubt there is any way you wouldn't get it! I've read that as well about this fall. I'd say ask Yesenia, but I've heard she's not even answering emails. GO FIGURE!! Maybe call the 800 number?
